    Well, if anything reasonably interesting turns up like a broken timing chain i try to film it for what use it may be to someone else.

    One reason I love these videos is I've spent so much time and spent so many Miles in Mondeo's, over ten years, you know from personal experience how reliable they are because the vehicle's I was using had at least 100,000 miles on them some over 200,000 miles one even 300,000 miles.

Like you say if you don't know you would never work it out

    Really good videos. These engines are in my opinion, needlessly complicated. In the past, cams were driven by duplex chains and lasted very well. Cost cutting meant that simplex chains were used and were not as good. I have never been a fan of cam belts. A cheapening of engine design. The best set up was gear driven cams as used by Volvo and early Ford 1.6 Diesels.I have owned and driven taxis since the 90's and have repaired Taxis since the 70's and some drivers will drive them until they are seized up. The majority of your cars are private hire, so it grates on me that you describe then as Taxis, which they are not. Only Hackney Carriages are Taxis.

    • @jonnotshared7590
      @jonnotshared7590 3 года назад

      The Hackney carriage is very much a London thing. Out in the shires (Steve's taxi's are based in rural Cambridgeshire) taxi's tend very much to be private hire. In the larger city's the London system of "hail and ride" works well but you will find 90% of these drivers will also be on a company circuit for private hire work

    You have a link for steves car sales in the description. Thought i would take a look. You have a 2006 focus diesel for 2.5k. No mot as it ran out 10 months ago. It is £500 more than I paid fof the same car with fsh, AA inspected, new brakes all round, new cambelt @78k, 88k on the clock, 4 chunky tyres, no advisories and absolutely spotless with all of the ghia extras. All of their cars are way over priced. Why advertise them? You risk your reputation

      @Alan Howatt much appreciated m8 🙏I'm getting a low fuel pressure reading and the car will not start,I've changed the fuel filter which didn't work,I've stumbled across your video since my last message about the failed spring in the high pressure fuel pump so I think my only option is to strip it myself,get to that part and see if that's the issue before buying a new fuel pump,I was panicking because my local garage said the car was scrap because of this issue and I can not afford to scrap it,I've had it for 2 years and it's only done 77000 miles, it's the 1.6 duratorq engine really appreciate the reply thanks 🙌

      @@08dangler hi. I am not familiar with the 1.6 engine as we only have 2litrs engines so not sure if your fuel pump is the same but if it is I would definitely check out that spring and I have also come across the gear on the back of the pump can snap off

      Hey, nothing wrong with an Austin Maestro. I had one as a company car once. They tended to grow on you after you got used to them, mind you, do did skin cancer ! But it still did 180,000 miles before the lease was up. I was so happy to get my first MK2 Mondeo (a white 1.8TD estate)

    i am a taxi driver myself and everytime i hear a noise i come in the yard and tell them, what they say? put the radio on and you won't hear it, i had a noise for 2 years , got my own car now and i returned the car with the same noise, the noise was coming from the rear brakes, like something was touching, metal on metal but not hearing anything when you have your brakes pressed on
