Would you take 37K and some used car washing supplies for it?
Would you give me one for free?😂 I wanna 4 door model
@HKMotorcars This car has very nice BOOTy
So they made the top of the air intake glass but not the back so you can see 😂😂😂😂
what's with that horrible paint job? orange peel finish on every close up of the car!
Doug the kinda guy who mentions Cars and Bids at the blessing before you eat your meal.
🤦🏻♂️
If I sold something for $30 million, I’d mention it at every blessing too.
I'm usually eating when I watch Doug anyway.
Amen brother
Let's go over all of the quirks and features of this evenings meal
The fact that this thing drove to and from a race that it won is certifiably cool.
The Baja isn't just any race. People don't just DRIVE home from that thing. Hell, most of the trucks don't even make it.
@@HU1212ICAN3this SCG BOOT and Unimog U500 Crew Cab both have 500bhp.
He was doin it like he does it every sunday
that's been Glickenhaus' approach to racing from quite the beginning. The SCG 003 was designed with that in mind and they pretty much did the same thing with that one, just with a race track
Normally not one to scrutinize the Doug score, but if anything deserves a 10 for cool factor it's this. Hell, the only word Doug had to describe it was "GRRRR".
It deserve 10/10 btw.
This is the type of stuff I come to Doug to watch. Not many others will have access to these types of vehicles, and I love learning about them and seeing their features clearly documented.
Typical quirky Doug
You like the features how do you feel about quirks?
THISSSSS... Is the type of stuff i come to doug to watch.
@@chipskylark8869Jeep Wrangler 6x6 for me is like an upgraded Wrangler.
Agreed
"You move the wheel and you're going in that direction". Well there we have it, the definition of good steering.
This is indeed a great feature.
@@MrMCDiggles It is indeed a feature of features!
Lmfao!👌😂👍great sarcasm there!
@@TheBradfordGand also feature and features.
Ah yes, the floor here is made out of floor.
This reminds me of a Bowler Wildcat. Only the old guys remember the Wildcat. That thing was beast.
Given Doug’s love of Land Rovers I’m amazed that he hasn’t reviewed one already…
It's a little detail but helps so much, thank you Doug, for always translating US numbers. Miles per gallon to liters per 100km and so on. Just great that you always take care of this.
Yep. Seems like the SCG BOOT had $550.000.
I still would prefer if he did the km/l so it would be easier to understand. Like in miles per gallon, do it in kilometers per liter. But he says it's how all the publications do, what shows they don't care. If it was the case, well, make it then 12.5 gal/100 miles! Hard to understand, makes no sense. I want to know how many km I can make with 1 liter. Everybody wants to know how many miles with one gallon (8 mpg).
@@unloveableandrekm/l isnt the official unit. Sitting in my car right now, it’s L/100km.
So why is mpg? Why is km/h? Why is mpg?
What is easier to understand? What is more logical?
@@unloveableandre does it look like I made up the units? It’s just what it is lmao, take it or leave it
The camera shake makes the accelerations so trippy...mixed with the sound it makes almost made me think He was gonna launch into the future
The SCG BOOT kinda reminded me a lot to the car from TDOR 3 PS1.
Took me a second to recall what SCG was, and then I remembered that they made the insane 003 lineup and that they're also based in Sleepy Hollow, New York. This makes me hope that someday Doug will get his hands on an SCG 003.
Same here! I’ve had a chance to see the SCG 004 in person but didn’t make the connection with the title of the video.
Damn, sleepy hollow? I live in tarry town….sick…
Eventually....
@@carsandbids🎉🎉🎉
Something tells me that if the 4-door has enough room for Little Demuro and Noodle Doug is going to add one of these to his stable!
I was on the FerrariChat forums back in the day when Jim Glickenhaus first decided to do the P4/5, and he shared the entire process with us on the forum. And holy moly, getting that Enzo turned into what it became was QUITE the endeavor. lol. He was probably one of of the first customers outside of the Sultan of Brunei that got Ferrari to go along with something like that.
The car itself (SCG BOOT) is like HumVee (from TDOR WIDE OPEN).
This is the first video in a long time where I've seen Doug extremely happy throughout the whole video! This feels like the old Doug, more like he's child in a candy shop, which I haven't been seeing lately!
Agree.
It might not be about the cars he's reviewing, you never know what someone is going through in their personal life.
Ya ya shush@@cobracommander9138
The transmission whine 🥵, bet it sounds insane at race speed
Yeah, it would take me a while to get used to straight cut gears... not a daily driver thing! Haha
Would love to blast this through the dunes.
@@carsandbidsCAAAAAARS and Bids
The camera shaking during accelerations adds so much drama 😆
It’s a great visualizer to Doug’s reactions
At first I thought it was a filter 😂
@@arcadeages3917i thought so.
I got to meet Jim and his Boot a couple years ago in Connecticut. Couldn’t have been a nicer dude who was excited to talk about his unique vehicle- so cool to see what he’s building
Doug, honestly, this was one of the best driving impressions of you. You just had fun and joy.
Thank you
Doug Demuro reviews always top class.
What makes the four door safer? Also imagining taking your family on a nice road trip in a 600hp Baja racer with giant exhaust pipes that look like thrusters coming up out of the back just because it now has four doors.
I'd have to modify those to shoot blue flame out that back.
Perhaps longer wheelbase makes it more stable or less prone to rollover?
My guess is that it is easier to get out of a four door in the event of a crash/rollover
I have a friend whose wife won't let him buy a coupe because they're more dangerous than sedans, so whatever magic the extra 2 doors do safety-wise must be real.
Seriously. The people buying these don't care that it has 2 doors. It's not competing with the Wrangler. Even super low production cars can't get away from having the less cool one be more popular.
Funny how strict regulations are these days but SCG got away with that exhaust
I’ve seen one, probably this exact car, a few times at Speedsport tuning in Danbury ct. They look even more insane in person. SCG has a facility right by that shop, at the Danbury airport, and I’ve been lucky enough to see some of their race cars too. Crazy what a guy with enough money and passion can create.
I’ve seen it bombing down 84 a couple of times, got to take a good look at it at the IMSA race at Lime Rock last year. I used to work at the aerospace building right up the street from Speedsport and SCG as well
@@enemyspotted2467agree by a lot.
When Doug smashes the throttle, the vibrations make it look like he's about to go into hyperspace. 🤣🤣🤣
He went to Plaid. lol.
I can imagine this becoming a Lego City set! An awesome dune buggy-like car!
This would fit next to the Bronco literally so well.
First Lego car model that looks like its real life counterpart
It's an insane car indeed. Never saw such an insane Desert Racer in my entire life. This SCG Boot looks really awesome!
Whats more insane is how its street legal. How did they pull that off?
This is what an SUV is supposed to be. Not the boring 💩 we have in mainstream automotive.
@@justacinnamonbun8658insane yet epic
@@jeffk464 It probably has at least one catalytic converter, EGR, PVC, etc. And they have to abide by the FMVSS in place at the time of manufacturing, like color and location of lights.
When he's driving it, I like how you can kind of see what's in front of Doug by looking at the reflection behind him
It is kind of trippy.
I have a collection of Hot Rod magazines from the 60s and I remember seeing pictures of the original Boot. Back then, Hot Rod magazine covered a lot of racing from Nascar to offshore boat racing, Indy, and off road stuff. When I first clicked on this video and saw the vehicle, without even hearing the name, I recognized the shape of the vehicle from seeing it in my old Hot Rod magazines. Pretty cool stuff.
Do you have all of the Hot Rod magazines from the 60's?
Doug the type of guy to review a car with the same headlight setup as a Fiat Multipla
And giving that obscurity an 8??? In styling?
If I had known you were in the Danbury area I could have met you with my stock 03 Evo you said you wanted to review. If you’re still around let me know.
Stock! That's a rarity right there, like finding a stock supra.
Nice!
Thanks, if you want to see it reviewed maybe get some others to reply to this so he’ll see it.
It's simply amazing that these crazy off road racers are street legal in US.
For $280,000 SCG could have & should have sprung for a camera-enabled rearview mirror & remote access entry! I mean, come on…
Also boosted brakes, this thing is huge and heavy...
I think minimal electronics for more reliability in the desert. This thing is built to be abused.
It does have a backup camera that shows in the center display
Doug the kind of guy who still wears the same clothes as he did back in the late 90s.
It’ll come back at some point haha
If it ain’t broke
I resemble that remark!
So from when he was about 6 yrs old lol?
Rich people don't blow money on wasteful shit like cloths
I love that it's so low volume they 3d printed some plastic parts like the head unit mount
This Informative and hilarious detailing of an absurd vehicle is my favorite Doug DeMuro video EVER! Cheers from Charlotte, NC!
Possibly the only vehicle with cup holders right next to a fire suppression pull leaver
Cleetus needs to get one of these 😂
Love the history story intro. Keep doing this Doug! I love it!
Amazed to learn that SCG, an acronym for "Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus", is headquartered in NY state. Looks foreign af. PS this company may have the SoL torch on it's shield but it's technically not located in NYC (Sleepy Hollow is in Westchester, NY). IMO if they ever make a convertible, "headless" needs to be incorporated into the title.
Doug is so happy that it makes me happy!
This has to be the best vehicle I've seen Doug review in a while!
I like that they added a fishfinder for the passenger. You can stop at any bridge and throw a line out.
The sound that thing makes is otherworldly.
Automagic gearboxes with torque converters fare MUCH better to jump shock. Drive wheels having intermittent contact with the ground is a REALLY chaotic event for the drivetrain, especially when your wheel torque is so high.
I've been trying to think of the perfect car for my soon-to-be 16-year-old. Gonna stick this at the top of the list!
Haha! Might need more power 😂
You must be rich and crazy!
@@randolfo1265 It's between this and a 2001 Chevy S10.
farri lamvghin r9al rinct bebtyly
@@rickthomas422 obvious choice between this and an s10. I think this a lot more practical for a new driver. It's an automatic, it's strong and heavy, it's new, it's got screens (teens like screens!), and it's tough.
Would you really stretch your finances on a 20+ year old Chevy? Do you know how many times that would need servicing? It'll never leave the shop! You will save money knowing this is new.
I wish you got more outside cinematic shots during the driving portion.
I grew up in Mt Kisco. Funny to see Doug driving this beast around town there.
Doug is the type of guy that would use this car as a daily driver and called it understatement.
I would love to see the other Glickenhaus automobiles. Jim Glickenhaus is a really cool dude and it’s fascinating. What he is doing with this company
id actually love to see the man himself make an appearance
Doug should be looking for speed bumps around town & sending it in the air! B
Never thought I'd see Doug reviewing a boot. I guess he's expanding outside the cars world.
Great video. Really enjoyed that. Did the disco at the end want to push you on the ferry?!
Doug "grrrr" about 10 times! He seem genuinely happy when reviewing cars. :)
You have fun in a BOOOOOTTTTT
Finally an exciting review!
Thanks Doug MeMuro, superb presentation, very cool!
21:32 camera shake makes it look 300% faster than it is, wild
Bigger than I expected 😂 Also on one hand it's strange that Doug's the first person I've seen review this car on the other it's a perfect fit. Now back to watching the video. Thanks for the entertainment
Ammo NYC reviewed and detailed this beauty in 2020. His detail shop is in the same town as the Glickenhaus headquarters
It’s Doug DeMuro of course he is going to get invited to review.
Doug is finally back in San Diego reviewing cars!! Should be some good vids soon
This was filmed months ago in NY
@@Zarrexevery video this summer was pre filmed. I’m saying we may see some really interesting soon

@@carsandbidsstill waiting for the ferrari 296 gtb, the purosangue, and the 812 competizione aperta reviews😢
This is by far the most excited I've seen Doug driving......
And I don't blame him
If I had FU money, I'd have an SCG003 and a Boot in the garage for sure. These are so cool.
Doug is that guy who tells you that there’s a massive spare tire mounted on the back but also includes some B-Roll finger pointing at it.
Doug: "this car is not at all fast"
Also Doug: gives it a Doug score of 7 for acceleration 🤔
Exactly. Gives the Bronco Raptor a 4 in acceleration and this a 7, and I bet they're similar 0-60.
If "quirks and features" were an actual car! This thing is awesome!
loving this scg company and their story. That's a lifestyle I can get behind.
It's a little known fact but Cars and Bids is actually named after his children Carmel and Biddy.
Love everything about this. And the fact that they used leather and Alcantara in the interior is hilarious. This is what preppers keep in the bunker next to the arsenal and food storage.😂
Now that's a review! Great work!
Thanks Doug for adding another dream car to my already full dream garage!
The button for "DISPLAY" is very interesting. Mainly because it's in Blue, Red, Yellow (probably here better referred in CMY as Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow) is actually how pigments work, not how light works. Instead this should be an RGB symbol as that is how displays work, using Red, Green, and Blue LEDs. Additive vs. subtractive color theory. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong here.
I noticed that too.
The whole dash fitout is unbelievably low effort. I guess they put all their time into the rest of the vehicle.
An off the shelf double din head unit and a small Lowrance GPS is crazy for this price
I’d love to see you review the 60s and 70s muscle cars.
NOOOO! I don't want the prices to go up.
The drive portion was so reminiscent of the Vector W8 drive. Similar sounds and similar scenery. Also a similarly crazy vehicle.
Unbelievable car Doug. Thx
Glickenhaus never disappoints
Dougcember came early
I first heard of the Boot years ago and thought "DeMuro NEEDS to review this!". Years later... it was worth the wait.
What an absolute cool beast 🔥 love it..
The design is so genius and unique
Mother of god, that looks fun to drive!
The numbers at 7:10 are amusing to me as the owner of a 2003 Cayenne Turbo tuned to 650hp. I too have terrible MPG but at around the same weight and power as this I get...4 more MPG because it's not shaped like a brick - *an astounding 25% boost in fuel economy!*

Nice 1 Doug 😂😂😂
Crazy vehicle to have in Mt. Kisco. Then again, twenty years ago we were the only pickup on the Taconic between Manhattan and I-90. Now they are all over the place.
In order to get the proper boot experience, be sure to touch those mufflers after driving hard for a little while
They are insulated. Not a problem.
@@JimGlickenhaus-br7wl And, those shiny pipes do not even get warm in the sun. Amazing, no problem!
Thank you for updating the thumbnail doug
Can't wait Doug is going to test this absurdity in the dust, the beach, the dunes, the Rockies, some trail, and in the snow! ...well that sounds like a new episode.
🙈.
I personally prefer Doug's old vid, in terms of presentation, he was a little bit funny, and the doug score style, these days he is more serious about the content and he is the type of guy who i watch his vid in 1.5X
Doug the kind of guy to say, oh look honey black people, how cool.
That’s crazy. I never heard of Mt. Kisco until I saw a TikTok of the Mt. Kisco diner and now I just watched you drive by it.
Doug's the kind of guy who adds his own sound effects while test driving offroad vehicles.
Doug the type of guy to run a successful online car auction website for cool cars from the 1980s, 90s and today

Those two reservoirs at the top left and right in the rear are oil catch cans if I’m not mistaken. Designed to prevent oil from entering the air intake.
