In the us tanks track the target for at least 2 seconds and then laze while tracking and the fire control computer will lead the target for you but if the target slows down or changes direction you must re-track and laze so the fcc can adjust for the correct lead it takes a little practice but I get 3000 m first round hits 90%of the time
@@themigmadmarine And don't forget to dump lead (just release right click in-game) when switching targets. Seen lots of videos where people don't dump lead in the M1's and can't figure out why they are suddenly not hitting their target (as well as it taking longer to get sights on target).
When I was in the army, I was a tank turret mechanic on the M60A1 series. Us turret mechanics always tried to make sure that the fire control would always deliver one shot one kills. Because we expected the Warsaw Pact to try and overwhelm us.
M60A3rise passive ... those were the tanks in my first unit back in 80. Before depleted uranium sabot we used aluminum tipped tungsten steel ... and at least some high velocity types which, when fired, would have the breach of the cannon touching the back plate in the turret during recoil.
Nice video game. These were the WP tanks I was trained for to fight when being an NCO in the German army armoured infantry ( Panzergrenadiere ) branch some years ago. Was trained in both roles ( tank commander and infantry squad leader ) and I have learned one thing: never, never go directyl over a hill if you can avoid that, could easily be your last mistake....Beside I wondered a bit that the platoon literally acted as a formation of single tanks with no cohesion at all rather than as a closed unit, where there is always some tank moving and the other(s) guarding that move ( German: Feuer und Bewegung ) Maybe I am bit nitpicky here or the rules for the US armoured corps are different, but then that was what I have learned among a lot of other things. Nevertheless I like your videos much and your comments make me laugh or smile often, so please keep on.
thanks for sharing your experience! its cool reading about it. i have never been in any army, but from what i read, Feuer und Bewegung, is what americans do too.
I did 20 Years in the US Army 16 on tanks. You are correct, you would use bounding over watch. Typical LT running off on his own. As for the hills as soon as seen him i was saying dont skyline your tank like that.
This game looks amazing and is bringing back fond memories of practicing this in Germany. If I could change one cosmetic thing, I would add white pylons on the sides of the paved road.
I love how this game is getting recognition. This is great timing too as I just picked up the free version of this game two weeks ago and am considering joining the patreon and getting that version too.
We never had lazer rangefinders or thermal imaging on our M60s. It was all coincidence rangefinders and manual indexing estimated ranges...... used primarily Battlesight range 1200 meters....sabot.
The steam demo was fun but, the missions are hard since you have no communication between the platoon and there is little situational awareness. There needs to be some kind of SA on the map or indication of objectives. I'm sure it's all being developed.
Yeah I couldn't get a handle on the controls and it felt weird spotting in a third person view instead of having a TC view. I hope it gets better because there really need to be some decent tank games but I uninstalled their demo after probably only about 15 minutes.
Found it rather easy, just gotta be observant, much easier with the NATO sides thermals tho. But the ai overall is rather weak atm very locked onto following certain sets of predetermined orders leaving basically no flexibility from what I could observe in the demo. So that definitely needs work.
Another really cool video wolf and lovely to see you develop your skills. One thing about AAR though is that you seem to be under the impression it shows onky your shots. It shows any main weapon damaging shots. To tell if its yours or not on the bottom where it says shooter it will have next to the vehicle name (player) if it is you controlling the vehicle that made the shot.

10:56 shows what 1911 guys think their foh five would do to a tank. Captain Miller tried it once on an enemy Tiger tank in WW2, but he wasn't using HSTs or GoldDots so it didn't work. 😸😸😸
noticed in all the videos of Gunner,HEAT,PC that there are no cockpit views, just exterior and gunsight. I'm guessing cockpit views will be added in the future?
is there an option for you to start in something less armored? any kind of mounted ATGM? You seem to dominate everything around you, if you are given any tank
You can switch to Bradley if you have Bradley scouts in the mission. Bradley dominates everything if positioned correctly for defense and still is a beast in offense because of the TOW snipes. On East side there is BMP1. BMP1 is one of those "on paper good" but very challenging, almost impossible to do well in. The optics are bad and no stabilization, gun inaccurate, missiles are difficult to use. If you mean tanks then T55 is 50s tech and quite underwhelming especially against an M1.
You could roll around in a lunch-box with a .50 cal if that's more your speed! All seriousness though, every vehicle in the game can be player-controlled, and if it's on your side in a mission, you can switch to them to directly control them. M1IP, M1, late-era M60, T-72M1's, T-55's, BMP-1 w/ their ridiculous MCLOS missile, M2 Bradley, BRDM, M113 (both ITOW and .50 cal versions), or even just an emplaced ATGM... Really want to see the T-64 family and BMP-2 make a showing though!
I can't find anything despite searches on what tanks are in game apart from the US/Warsaw Pact tanks. Any British armour? I'd be curious what a Centurion or Challenger would be like
I just checked out the "demo" and I'm not really optimistic about this game. First I realized that you can't try out the campaign unless you subscribe to their patreon, alright, cool. Then it turns out that most of the instant action scenarios are also locked behind the patreon paywall, but you don't find that out until the level actually loads because the specific vehicles used in the mission are only accessible to patrons. also came across their roadmap and it seems like it's gonna end up being a janky version of squad
