    Torque specs for both of these bolts are 63 ft-lbs according to manufacturer's service manual. Stubby 18mm socket with long reach ratchet helps very much for this job. Can be done in under 30 minutes.

    I just did this on my Altima. I removed the strut bar but just shifted it around rather than risking breaking more brittle clips. I'm definitely happy I saw this since it made getting a torque wrench on that top bolt really easy. Saved myself over a hundred dollars doing it myself too.

      There is a shortcut, just remove the strut bar bolts, and lift the bar just enough to take out the mount bolt under it. You don't have to take off all the other stuff or remove the strut bar. Saves a huge amount of time and effort. (Work smarter not harder)

    You will also need to remove the windshield, the hood, the trunk, the transmission and the front 2 tires, to make it easier to remove that bolt. otherwise great video 🤣🤣🤣

    Great video but the torque specs would be helpful. [EDIT:] I found the torque specs elsewhere, it's 69 ft/lbs for the vertical bolt and 63 for the horizontal bolt. Thanks again, this was a big help. [EDIT:] Actually my original info was wrong, it's 63 for both bolts, based on the factory service manual.

    I have a easy way to do it:
    Just remove 2 bolts located on top of the strut tower bar, (13 mm) use a crowbar to make space and take that top annoying 18 mm bolt off from the motor mount, if you don't have a crowbar, use a screwdriver underneath to hold that metal thing ( the strut tower bar up).
    then move the power steering reservoir on the side and take the other 18 mm bolt off that's it.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  5 лет назад +2

      Yea, I realized that way after I did this according to official Nissan repair manual.

    Most important part was left out! What are the torque specifications? Very important ECSPECIALLY when dealing with aluminum.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  2 года назад

      I don’t say those cuz they may vary by model. I leave it to owners to look up and find correct info.

    • @edwardthayer9386
      @edwardthayer9386 2 года назад

      @@DIYtime why? It's the same on all the vehicles! It doesn't vary by state or anything. That's the most important part of the job!
      Also this job doesn't vary by models, it's only for this make and model. And the only reason anyone is going to watch this video is to have help on working on the same car and part you're installing. You mind as well delete the video and have people look the whole job up on thier own.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  2 года назад +1

      No they are not. 2.5 and 3.5 engines could have different mounts, and sometimes different torque values. I have service manual and values are often different for these two different engines, even though they are on the same model.

    This is ridiculous. There's absolutely no need to remove all the strut bar, wipers and shit to remove the top bolt from the mount. You just need to remove the bolt from the passenger side and pry it up a bit and the mount top bolt will have enough space to come out. Duh.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  6 лет назад +4

      Dang, you are right. I watched some other videos and looks like it is possible. I followed the OEM factory repairs manual and that's what is is showing. I assumed that bolt is too long and you must remove the entire strut bar. Complete waste of time...
      Now we know how dealer finds ways to make simple repairs lengthy and expensive...
