I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God.
A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin.
A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant.

You do not need a book in addition to the bible. The Bible is all that you need if people would take it, and they would read it, and they would spend the time reading the Bible Uber and Uber instead of going and buying additional books. You don't need anything in addition to the bible. Everybody's trying to pad their own pockets any more. You know, if somebody wants to say it in a sermon. That's one thing you don't need Additional books. Did you know that it's actually a business sacrificing Christians and Christian suffering? It's actually a business, so if we could get the church backward needs to be. We can go after the wicked people that are actually in charge of you know, some people have been in jail for 20 years, but it's other Christians that helped put them there. Here's a book for you to write. How is it that a person can be in a prison for 20 years for preaching the word of the God, but don't let somebody like the voice. The mortars into that same prison to make a book about the person locked up for being a Christian and Christian suffering. And they get to walk away free. And that person's still in that jail cell. So if we would stop worrying about patting our own pockets, preach the word. Then maybe we can help save the other Christians who are caught in this business. Being sacrificed at the hands of other christians just to pad their pockets so they can write some books. Make it make sense.

Just because Eve sinned doesn't make me incapable of being a preacher, women can teach exactly what mean teach. So that being said, why is it sinful? God tells us to preach the word! I see a problem with the verse because Timothy clearly said "I" do not permit a woman to preach. I believe if God gives the authority anyone can be used by Him to do His will. I grew up in a church with a female lead pastor and when she laid hands on me I literally met Jesus Christ my Lord and saviour at that moment. My faith began that day and can never be shaken and this is because of her ministry. Also the spirit of the Lord led me recently to go back to her church and I went and I had been praying hard for a friend lost to drug addiction and I had not been able to reach my friend and I was extremely concerned, so I went and the lady pastor looked at me and declared "The Lord said to tell you that that friend you have been concerned about is going to be ok, He has her but He is working on some things in you." I knew the word was given to her by the Lord because she knew absolutely nothing about the situation. God uses female pastors. And apostles had opinions that were not Gods own instructions. I see the opinions come up in scripture and we need spiritual wisdom to guide us in all things. Even when pertaining to scripture, especially when pertaining to scripture.

I’d rather have a Woman pastor who has been Baptized in the Holy Spirit than a male pastor who hasn’t. I’m trying to hear from Holy Spirit, not the flesh. Spirit doesn’t discriminate gender. And a woman can teach the Bible equally as well as a man.
With that said, I still think men should be discipling men, but a woman can preach a sermon exactly the same as a man if they both have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Literally the only pastor in my area that has been filled with the spirit is a female, the only church where we are casting out demons, ppl getting filled, and consistently encountering His presence. I know for certain God would rather me be there than at one of the lukewarm churches with a male pastor. Spirit recognizes Spirit 🔥.

What would y’all do if there was a woman president or a woman leading a lifegroup/bible study? It says all authority comes from God and if God places a woman over you, you need to obey it. Deborah was head judge over Israel at the time and had authority over everyone. I agree some things are reserved for men, but when we start excluding women from ALL leadership period, that’s when it turns patriarchal and is borderline unbiblical in a way… to say women can never lead men in some areas in life. God has done it before. Ruling over women is a curse, not a blessing (Genesis 3:16). Healthy male leadership is a gift.

She didn’t tell just woman, she told everyone (men and women). She was the first one to share The Gospel of Jesus The Messiah. God said He is not a respecter of persons. It is disruptive today as it was then to yell across the isle at church. ANY disruption is out of order be it from a man or a woman. Men went to Hebrew school and learned the Torah back then and women were not allowed to learn so they had a lot of questions. Now, when it talks about the leading men only having one wife, he was taking it back to Adam and Eve…..not to marry or be with more than one woman as men were doing so at that time (some are still now) which is not how God set up union for His people. If men were to be in service to God they were to have One Wife, not many wives as this to would be out of God’s order.

Fine, I'll go to Corinthians instead of Timothy. 1 Corinthians 14 33:35 - "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in ALL THE CHURCHES OF THE SAINTS. Let your women keep silence in the CHURCHES: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the LAW. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.”
Can women be pastors? Sure. Should they be? "Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet" 1 Timothy 2:11-12. But why would Paul put gender parameters on who can teach and be an elder? This sounds sexist. As if he were anticipating this objection, Paul answers it in the next verses: "For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor" 1 Timothy 2:13-14. The word 'for' introduces the reason for the prohibition in verse 12: "For Adam was formed first, then Eve." This is a clear reference to the Genesis 2 account of creation. In Genesis 2, God creates Adam from the ground and afterward creates Eve from Adam’s rib. Paul is teaching that the reason for the prohibition relates to how God made the first man and the first woman AND what happened with the forbidden fruit.
Of course, it's not only Paul who clarifies God's will for men to lead. Isaiah 3:12 "Youths oppress my people, WOMEN rule over them. My people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path." Please tell me if you think women ruling over God's people is supposed to be a good or a bad thing in this verse. Women ruling is a sign of God's judgement, as is the case with Deborah. Deborah was also a prophetess, so she certainly found favor in God's eyes. However, please consider the following points. First, the book of Judges is a descriptive, not a prescriptive, book in the Bible. Meaning, the book of Judges, and in particular Deborah’s account, is describing what happened. It is not telling us what must happen. Paul’s command for churches is prescriptive. He is telling us what must happen in the church. Narratives, like Judges, are merely describing events that took place. They’re not intended to prescribe moral commands and doctrine. Bottom line, that Deborah was a judge does not contradict or change Paul’s command in 1st Timothy & 1 Corinthians. Secondly, Deborah was a judge during Israel’s darkest time in history. That she was appointed should be seen as a judgment on wicked people. This claim is bolstered by the fact that Deborah tried to give military command to Barak, and he was shamed for his initial reluctance. It was likely the case that men simply were not stepping up in those dark times. Even so, Barak was the one who led the men into battle (Judges 4:14-16). Deborah’s story is heroic, but it does not change the fact only qualified men can be pastors in God’s church. Paul ties this back to Adam and Eve, so this is not a cultural issue of the times. Just like the man is the head of his family (after Christ of course!), so is the man the head of the church. Hope this helps.

@@BasileiaRoots, You are missing some context the Bible clearly teaches…
Deborah, Photina, Huldah, Esther, and Priscilla were all married women and thus they all had submitted under male authority, and were willing to submit to that authority, even multiple times in the case of Photina, but I wouldn’t use Photina in this discussion. 1) Her name isn’t in scripture, and 2) she doesn’t have authority, she just acts.
Phoebe isn’t mentioned to be married, and I have my own thoughts, but what we do know from scripture is that she was under Male Authority, that being Paul. Paul was even writing with his authority to ask others to empower her with authority as he did.
Miriam also was under Male Authority. She was under her brothers. Miriam isn’t mentioned to be married in the Bible, but she is in other non-canonical books. Regardless, she is a horrible example of women in leadership, as she tried to usurp Moses as the Leader. She literally was fulfilling the curse given to Eve.
Additionally, Huldah was the closest prophet at the time as she lived right in Jerusalem with her Husband being a servant of the very king that needed a prophet. The people looking for a prophet probably were friends or associates of Huldah and her Husband.
All good examples of women in the Bible as leaders were under male authority, usually married. Paul wrote that women are saved through Childbearing, that requires them to submit unto a man. This means that while women can be leaders, they are required to submit to a male authority over them to give them authority. This is exactly how we, the Church, also called the Bride of Christ have Authority, as we have it through being under Christ’s Authority!

There are more ways to serve God than becoming leaders of men. A God-fearing woman should examine her heart honestly and recognize that there is a power search underneath her desire to lead men in spite of God’s instruction.

There are other positions of service within the scope of a congregation besides pastoral positions. (I know a pastor’s wife who leads the women ministry and children ministry, a bible study teacher who facilitates the learning.) However, serving God does not confine believers within the scope of a congregation, for those who are lost and whom we are commissioned by Christ to witness to predominantly live as outsiders of the congregation. My point is serving God should be the ultimate goal for EVERYTHING we take part in, whether it’s family, work, social life or church services. Then why does a woman seek for a spiritual shepherd’s position which God designs for men?

Pauls letter to Timothy was intended to convey how the churches should be organized. Men were meant to preach , and women shouldn't have authority overen in a church. The disciples were all men. Women were originally made for man , because while men and women are all equally valuable , it was the woman that was made for the man as a help mate. Womens priorities , values , and standards and judgement are different than a mans and it was the woman that was decieved in the garden , not man. Man is the closest ideal human being because he was created as the closest representation of the image of God , having dominion over the earth , and over family as the head. Men have rule over their families to protect and provide for their wives and children. Women who rule over their husbands often don't respect them and will leave them for someone else.

    • @8784-l3b
      @8784-l3b Год назад

      Complementarianism
The priesthood of the New Covenant is tiered. There is a hierarchy.
A new believer is automatically assigned their level, higher or lower, at the moment of salvation, as a birthright. Their gender determines their tier. A Christian can not move to a higher or lower tier.
A church can be made up of only men, because men are in the higher tier.
Men are the superior gender, being male, and therefore more like God who
      is masculine.
Therefore men can be leaders, for example, elders.
A church can NOT be made up of only women, because women are in the
lower tier. Women are the inferior gender, being female, and therefore less
      like God who is masculine.
Therefore women can't be leaders, for example, elders.
So even a large group of women can not be a valid church
under any circumstances. For this group of women to become
a valid church, at least one man must join it as an elder. The
addition of just one higher-tier Christian would instantly form
      a valid church.
      ____________________________________
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood...
      -excerpt 1 Peter 2
A 2-tiered priesthood doesn't exist, but this is what Complementarianism supports. It is a false teaching. It uses double-talk by telling women they are equal to men, yet states that women can't teach men. It states that a group of Christian women can not be a church under any circumstances.

thank you for sharing your point of view. It was very well thought out and clear, I appreciate that. I agree, God can use whoever He chooses and has proven that many times throughout scripture and still to this day. He doesn’t care about our human self proclaimed or culture placed statuses. At the same time, I view the role as lead pastor, in the same category as head of the household. There are specific roles we were made and best suited for but that doesn’t mean we don’t have the ability to carry out the other role. Or do you also believe a wife should be head of the household instead of her husband if he is fully capable? Are woman capable of leading a household, yes 1000% if needed. Are woman capable of being lead pastors, yes 1000% if chosen. Were woman included as Jesus disciples, YES and still are. But was one woman chosen as apart of the 12? No. Deborah was a judge and prophet in her time and the only one showing us that this was uncommon. That is not something to be offended about or say, look men can only rule over woman in Gods eyes. That statement is completely false because in the kingdom, the leaders should be acting as the servants if they are chosen by God. Pastors are not ruling over anyone, they are appointed to be servants of a church. Jesus is the only ruler as King in any church setting. I’m not going to say I’m right or I know it all. Clearly that is a silly thing to think for anyone but this is simply my view and opinion on the matter. I respect all brothers and sisters in Christ equally.

The gospel is a teaching. The first and most important of all. If a woman can teach a man the gospel, she can teach all the lesser teachings to men. This is logic.
Even in the teaching/preaching of the gospel, a man may ask a woman
about something scriptural/spiritual. So if the man asks about the so-called
7 deadly sins, she can't say a word? If indeed she can speak to him about this
as an unsaved man, then she can't once he becomes saved?
When all this becomes about gender, instead of the Holy
      Spirit, there is confusion.
      _________________________________________________

Not all women are like Paula White or Victoria Osteen. Not all men are the opposite of Kenneth Copeland or T.D. Jakes.
Plus, I do not feel all women who share the Lord's word is looking for power or authority. Some simply just want to see souls saved.
I know I'll get backlash for it, and that is OK. Just because a man was made to be leader does not mean there are no man who can lead astray and always make perfect decisions and have perfect knowledge. Ladies need discernment because on Judgment Day we are not going to get to use submissiveness as a way to get out of being held accountable for sins done out of submission or going along with what a man said that wasn't right.
If I had married my son's father when my son was a kid,, one of the things I would have had to submit to was my son not getting grounded when doing bad in school.

God will use whom ever to get the message out. Men who feel threatened when a woman is annointed by God, will always cling to to 1 Corinthians 14:33-36. Paul was creating order in the church. During that time as custom husbands and wives didn't sit together. The women sat at the back of the synagogue and men sat near the speaker. Wives would yell to ask their husbands to explain or to repeat what the speaker was saying. To keep order and to follow man's " written law" at the time which was women must be quiet in public. Next they use 1 Timothy 2:12 out of context as again if you read it in context it is talking about Man's law of the land during the time of the early church 1 Timothy 2:2. One of the first woman preachers was the good Samaritan at the well in John 4. In John 4:29-30 "Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30Then they went out of the city and came to Him." If Jesus wanted only men to speak about Him in public why use a woman to bring others to Him. All who believe in Jesus are called to share "The Good News". The great commission in Mark 16:14-15 Jesus uses the word "they" not men. It is imperative to study your bible and also understand the mens law vs. Gods laws. Therefore, if God our creator and Jesus did not want women to preach about God and share the "Goods News" of Jesus, we wouldn't have women Mary Magdelene, Mary mother of James and John who went and preached of Jesus return. Lydia who provided for Paul and held prayer meetings, Priscilla was a church leader with her husband Aquila and was highly regarded by Paul & Luke (who wrote acts) spoke often about her work to others. For the clarity in reading the bible asking the Holy Spirit to guide you in all truths. Do not lean unto your own or man's understanding, ask God. He will reveal all truths. As Christians we lean on others instead of taking all things to God which is a sin in itself. James 4:7-17

I used to be in the women can be pastors camp. Then I went to a church where women were not and enthusiastically changed my view without really digging deeper. then over time I changed back to believing that God gives gifts to who He wants. That is men and women. I also read extensively on the subject from various scholars on both sides. Ultimately I think women can lead and serve in church including being pastor. I recommend you read Dr. Payne's book about Biblical Womanhood it sums up each point with scholarly evidence of why gender restrictions are not Biblical. A person can hold a high view of scripture and still believe in women leaders, morally, ethics, etc. I've seen that. I've also seen reformed people go off the rails into treatment of women as cattle for breeding, but using scripture and twisting it. Bible verses must be looked at both in context of the passage, historically, and if it's prescriptive or not for all people. The same people who claim women should not lead conveniently do not do the same treatment with topics such as slavery, marrying the sister if the wife passes, or my favorite, if Adam is the best or magically endowed with leadership because he was created first, you have to apply the same logic to all of Creation, so animals would be a higher order creature than man. See how faulty it becomes? 🙄. I also look at how the church is alienating singles. How is that happening you might ask? Well the truth is that most singles in churches across America are female and they attend also more regularly then men. If you tell them their sole purpose is reproduction and housework do you think they are going to stay around when you limit them? No. They could be going out and preaching and getting more people in the churches doors. But nope. They can't do that. A gifted woman with a theology degree is relegated to never starting a church. It's absurd. And teaching is a gift. I don't know how many times I've heard a ♂️ pastor be a pastor but the guy had no clue how to pastor yet there he is....because of his anatomy. Sounds like sexism. Because it is.

I respect and understand your viewpoint. But your argument is off of intellect and not biblical. Where are your scriptures sister? No book other than the Bible will support your thesis because you will be going of the word of man not the word of God. Not matter how much we’ve experienced or know we cannot deviate what the Bible says.
“A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.”
This does not mean a woman does not have spiritual gifts. Woman have plentiful gifts and they’re not simply used to bear child. I don’t understand why many women wish to find authority over men. They try to justify it with their logic with no scriptures, and even when there are scriptures that negate their position they still brush it off. Here’s another scripture:
“Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.”
      ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬, ‭4‬, ‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      Overseer = Pastor
Notice how the Bible says HE and how HE has to be faithful to his wife. A woman pastor cannot be faithful to her wife because homosexuality is forbidden in scriptures as well.
“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
