- Cassie Stone (also known as Verónique Lapierre or Cassiopée) is a Canadian singer and entertainer. She is the lead singer of melodic metal band Anemonia and is also part of the Cirque du Soleil show, Zarkana.
Stone caught the attention of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and mastermind Tuomas Holopainen after have auditioned to be their new singer in 2006 with the songs Wish I Had an Angel, Nemo and Higher Than Hope (all from the 2004 album "Once"). She also went to Helsinki in early 2007 to record some songs from the Dark Passion Play album. And after over 2,000 demo tapes, the final decision was between Stone and Anette Olzon, in which the latter succeeded and was chosen as the band's official frontwoman back in the day. She is also cited on Marko Hietala's biographical book "Ruostumaton" (2017).

Also absolutely love this version, personally prefer this over anette and floor's rendition, I love all singers Nightwish has had, each is talented and wonderful but you definitely have a magical and powerful presence in your vocals, keep it up!

@@gardenofpain353 Me too. Anette recorded studio demos for Ever Dream, Nemo, Higher than Hope, Ghost Love Score, and Romanticide, I hope we can hear all of them one day. So far only Ever Dream and Romanticide have been shared.
Probably my favorite take from Cassie. I definetely think Anette was the best option Tuomas and company had back in the day, but I feel like Cassie would've been pretty interesting to see and hear in live shows.

Yeah,I think her vibrato ruined her chances.But better fit at the time than Annette,maybe if she was chosen she would still sing.Gorgeous too.
Interesting voice but better suited for rock or jazz than metal and Nightwish :)
