- Cassie Stone (also known as Verónique Lapierre or Cassiopée) is a Canadian singer and entertainer. She is the lead singer of melodic metal band Anemonia and is also part of the Cirque du Soleil show, Zarkana.
Stone caught the attention of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and mastermind Tuomas Holopainen after have auditioned to be their new singer in 2006 with the songs Wish I Had an Angel, Nemo and Higher Than Hope (all from the 2004 album "Once"). She also went to Helsinki in early 2007 to record some songs from the Dark Passion Play album. And after over 2,000 demo tapes, the final decision was between Stone and Anette Olzon, in which the latter succeeded and was chosen as the band's official frontwoman back in the day. She is also cited on Marko Hietala's biographical book "Ruostumaton" (2017).
These demos were kindly sent by Cassie Stone herself, after I contacted her, in which she gave me permission to publish them on my channel. Please keep this space respectful.

Full-time vibrato, yes. Well, it works sometimes. But. Imagine her without overuse of vibrato. She has nice tone and operatic-ish skills.
Glad they went with Anette. Her voice is kinda nice but her vibrato is excessive and almost annoying. Imo Elize Ryd (who also auditioned) did better than her in this song.
Gotta love the standards here. Annette is better than any of those others who auditioned for what was already a huge band.
Yet Floor blows Annette and Tarja off the stage. So are we seriously saying maybe three of the top five singers in metal have fronted ONE band? That's like Canadian army snipers.
