I don't understand why people thinks that Anetta is not a good singer. She has a lovely voice. Sure she may not be Tarja but she has her own beauty in her voice.
She cant do live stage. Thats it.
@@angeltensey She was not treated well live by the way, production wise. There are some very good/excellent bootleg performances.
Perhaps she’s a good pop singer, I wouldn’t know as I don’t like the simplicity of pop. But she is not a metal singer and that is where people didn’t like her singing - because it was lacking.

Is Floor Jansen metal? Yes. Is Tarja metal as far as voice goes?> No. She never was and never liked it. Are babymetal kids (well now, young ladies) metal as far as vocal style goes? Fuck no, they have pop vocals layered on metal rythms...You can't categorise it. Annete was chosen so as not to mimic Tarja and then had to carry the band live with songs which were not suited to her, terrible production with no reverb (listen to Tarja live she is drowned on reverb ...Floor isn't. Check Tarja's own bootleg live recordings. You'll be surprised how much they are alike.)
Such an uplifting version, her voice is so bright, absolutely beautiful.
People tend to forget that NW didn't want another Tarja. They wanted to go in a different direction. Annette's version of this was what they were looking for. Annette allowed Tuomas to explore different avenues of music instead of being confined to the operatic vocals that Tarja excelled in. I think Annette's contributions to NW are beyond measure, and most fans don't give her enough credit for what she's done to promote the band and move it past being just another symphonic metal band. On the same note, both Tarja and Annette's solo material have been a bit bland. This just goes to show that the heart of the band was/is still Tuomas.
Agree with every word. Imaginaerum was their best album in my opinion, and my second favorite Dark Passion Play.
I love both releases. Annette is my daughters' favorite. :)

People tend to look Nightwish in one miserable and single prisma. If you understand just a little bit of music, you'll curve for Anette's contribution.
The other band members kicked tarja out. Its their decision and fans should respect that

Anette has always been my favorite vocalist for Nightwish. Nothing ahainst Floor or Tarja as they are also amazing. I'm just saying my favorite stuff from Nightwish was when Anette sang for them. Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum are my favorite records from Nightwish. I will always love Anette's voice and consider her one of the best vocalists in the Symphonic Metal scene.
Anette brought so much to the Nightwish party. It is a pity that ‘Tarja diehards’ cast so much negativity on Anette. All three Nightwish girls have been brilliant in their own DIFFERENT ways.

I don't, I cast on Tuomas's overwhelming ego. I do like Anette and follow her band The Dark element.
The band's phase with Anette was the best. Best albums and best formation. Anette was the best NW vocalist. She raised the band's work to a public level where neither Tarja nor Floor could. Her contribution goes beyond just being a vocalist.
I like the three vocalists. But I'm surprised by your comment because usually people prefer the other two singers. Let me know why do you think the band had its huge moment with our dear Anette?
@@patryciachananettes vocal style and voice had Wide public reach. She is trained in pop/jazz singing while Tarja and Floor are classically trained and with Anettes "pop" voice they had many hits and their sound was the most accesible to people outside the metal genre.
@@patryciachanwhile nightwish fans love floor and Tarja the most if you make most of the people in the world listen to these 3 voices most will tell you that floor and Tarja are more technically talented but anettes voice is the one they would listen to. Pop/jazz singers are more popular and most people prefer that singing style nowadays, thats why the most famous artists are pop singers and Not classivcal
I tend to prefer Anette, her lighter, brighter vocals are perhaps more commercial, I personally listen to a lot of classical and opera, but it's not for everyone, Tarja and Floor are amazing, but maybe too heavy for some. Anette has such a sweet, beautiful voice.

I like how she adapted it to fit her voice better. I like Nightwish with Anette - she did a great job with the two albums she is on - even Dark Passion Play, which is a lot of people's least favorite... "Meadows of Heaven" is fantastic.

I love her voice, it's so powerful! Her accent shows a bit in this song, but it's pretty much gone from her singing now so she's even better. She also looks amazing.

+Anna Fitzpatrick Nothing to hate about her. Songs like this just don't fit her vocal range, that was the issue. The songs from Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum - no problem. Give her Storytime, Amaranth, Slow Love Slow or TPATP any day of the week. Give her Ever Dream, GLS or Wishmaster, and that's where things started to get messy. It's not really her fault, the guys should've known better than giving her songs that were not for her range.
I mean, if they had tuned the songs down she may have been able to sing them. Sadly, the band didn't think of that.

@@michaelvedal1907 While Wishmaster isn't one of my favorite renditions with Floor either, this is a rather shallow statement in my opinion. Floor using an operatic voice to sing a song that was originally written for an operatic vocalist does not mean she imitates Tarja. It's rather surprising to me that in 2021 people still make comments like this but I guess it really shouldn't be.

Revendo. Adoro a voz dela, acho muito autêntica e nada de clichês. Se não deu certo na banda, creio que seja por um motivo parecido com o do Blaze no Iron: ter que cantar músicas antigas que não se encaixam bem na sua voz, só isso. Talento, a Anette tem de sobra.
Eu tinha muita raiva da voz dela, afinal conheci a banda assistindo o show do Wacken em 2013. Mas com o tempo, ouvindo a discografia da banda, percebi que ela só foi mais uma vítima do Tuomas :/ Felizmente ela tá ótima com a carreira solo dela

Já eu odeio a voz lírica da tarja, eu passei a gostar de nightwish por causa da voz da anette. Mas os caras são cruéis com quem trabalha com eles. A banda dela The dark element é incrível

I really like Anette's songs in Dark Element, they're excellent and I listen to some of them on repeat even these days, it's just some songs are written for a different singing style, like ballades, operas etc. Anette did a great attempt at the song that's not exactly written for her singing style here, but I'd still like if she didn't change the lyrics as I failed to sing along :(.
Actually, I did hear Anette singing Ever Dream live (I've got a recording of it in my channel). I thought it was perfect, she had so much power in the chorus, it was really amazing. And, well, if you ask me, Anette can sing as well live as she did in studio. I'm really sad that she left Nightwish because I think that she suited Nightwish perfectly.

Anette has a very beautiful tone to her voice... I just wish she had trained it a little more, not necessarily classically, but she sounds so shaky sometimes, as if she's going great and suddenly she switches into karaoke mode. :)

No e spor Anette es por Tarja cuando una banda pierde el cantante y viene otro los fanáticos sienten que la esta remplazando y aunque de alguna forma es cierto es porque las circunstancias así se dieron ... A mi no me gusta Nigthwish y nunca me gusto la voz de Tarja vine a escuchar este tema porque soy cantante y toca cantarla como cover en la banda en la que estoy por la misma razón escuche esta canción en sus 3 versiones con las 3 cantantes incluyendo los vivos y en gusta más la versión de Anette me parece interesante su voz... Que es tener una voz para el metal? El metal es u. Genero musical y no tiene una forma de ser cantado de hecho en mis gustos personales las voces muy líricas no me parecen metaleras (y no me gustan a excepción de Roy khan de Kamelot pero considero que no lo hace tan lírico) yo prefiero las voces como Dio mas profundas raspadas "sucias" ... La voz de Anette suena pop pero es bastante buena y en vivo es muy creativa

Yes, and the backing is also very important. This is not on the same production level like the nightwish live and studio release and of course playing wise and the sounds of the instruments are way better.

Anette's is great, as if she was close... I don't know how can I explain it, but I love it!
All 3 singers are different in their own way and that is a good thing. We are lucky that Nightwish have had 3 very talented singers. My own opinion is that Tarja was unique, there was not really any rock bands with an "operatic voice". personally I find it hard to understand the words she is singing, unless I have subtitles. There is no way Thoumas could have another singer like Tarja and I fully respect his decision to go with Anette. the albums with her are more accessible, you can hear the lyrics much easier. Anette does struggle at times with Tarja era songs. Anette though has a wonderful childlike innocence to her voice. Only 1 song makes my cry everytome Poet and Pendulum but has to be Anette. I find Floor just a tad agressive especially on Mother and father section. Floor is a magnificent singer though and she easily manages all era of Nightwish songs. In terms of singing quality, and versatility, IMHO has to be Floor, then Tarja then Anette. Interestingly there is very little live footage of Anette of a decent quality, I think it was probably because she was just not as confident a singer as Tarja and Floor. I have heard Anette with her band, Dark Element and she has improved dramatically. I have also seen tarja live recently and her voice is still superb and more rock orientated now

I didn't say anything on how I manage to sing that song... anyway, I am NOT a singer so I don't have to deliver a good live performance on a daily basis like she has to do... I didn't say that I don't like her, or anything bad about her... What I meant to say is: this demo is a really nice job compare to what I hear live... Plus, this is a song meant for Tarja's voice, I prefer the original one.

Not criticizing her, but did she change the chorus for any reason? She sings "Ever felt away with me / My love, it lies so deep" instead of "Ever felt away WITHOUT me"
I'm pleasantly surprised by this demo. I didn't think she could perform Tarja's songs well based on what I heard from live recordings. Tarja does this better but I like this version too. :) Can't wait for Decades to come out so we all get to hear Floor's take on it as well.

It’s not bad but unfortunately for her, a goddess came after her and elevated those songs to a level that…………………. maybe only Tuomas had envisioned……. If you actually believe Floor getting the 48 hour call was a random event…………. Tuomas has envisioned Floor singing his songs long, long, long before Annette got sick……
Well, she actually left because she was several months pregnant and wanting to launch her own career, she left on completely pleasant terms with everyone.
I like both Tarja and Olzon, but i dont like last one, who is actual now, if im not wrong, after Olzon I dont listen Nightwish anymore, because cant listen their new female vocal. So, Olzon is good as Tarja was. Yes, they are different , but they made Nightwish for me

Ever dream is THE Nightwish song for me. The lyrics and the feeling are what I adore and more than music: Love, lust, deep longing and hope. When I heard it for the first time I got obsessed with nw :D
And it was just a live video, sung by Anette.

That's totally okay. I don't think that Anette was always perfect, especially on songs originally sung by Tarja (especially on Slaying The Dreamer, she wasn't belting there, she was screaming) but I think if you consider that those weren't written for her, she does a really amazing job. I like Tarja as well, but I totally love Anette, she's my favourite singer :)

@@dbautistamedia You see, its only when the mixing fucks up for Floor that the die hards will blame the third party. Liek Rock in Rio. They tend to forget that 95% of all the recordings of Anette with Nightwish had bad mixing.
Also, there ARE some good recordings, and she sounds just fine. I wish this bullshit would go both ways. As Tuomas said after letting her go: "It was never about the voice. it was not the issue". And I believe that was correct. I saw them many times on the DPP tour and also while Anette was with them on the Imaginaerum tour, and she sounded fine to me.
Really dislike the hate she has been getting. Even if the band was at the top of their game with her. Sad shit.

You don't have any idea how big thing Nightwish was to their fans. (And you will never have.) It was like a religion. Untouchable and sacred. Something more than a life itself. When they fired Tarja.. To fans it was like they would have ripped the hearts from the chests.
Tarja was going to do it herself anyway and be left with no more Nightwish
That one was from 2008, right? I've heard that one, too. It doesn't sound good but her performances from 2007 are even worse. Wishmaster was out of her range that time. I'm glad that Anette improved so much, so that I can hear her singing the old without much struggling. Well, there's a performance of Wishmaster from Moscow in 2009 which is really good. Not as powerful as Tarja's version but beautiful.

A voz da Anette é muito doce e agradável. Gosto também da acentuação das notas. Não gosto da primeira cantora da banda. A atual (Floor) é a mais técnica e tem extensão vocal maior.
Até que enfim um brazuca como eu que aprecie a maravilhosa voz de Anette Olzon.

Continuo preferindo o estilo Opera de Tarja, mais não tenho nada contra nenhum outro estilo que a banda adotou, e nada contra Anette, o imaginaerum é um dos meus álbuns favoritos. Cada uma em seu tempo e estilo. Mais gosto muito to tom pesado da Tarja (saudades dela na banda).

According to Google: Anette Olzon is a world class female singer having recorded for almost 1 dozen bands so far. DARK PASSION PLAY has outsold all other Nightwish material COMBINED.
That being said.... My favorite female singer is Floor Jansen.
i just love the song!! the way she make the cover was very risking but worth it! i think Tuomas sees in her, that, she can be herself, without care what people think, and probably he wanted somebody so free in every way, in her personal life and as a singer. and that is what she proof here.
