A more fair comparison would’ve been to fill them all the way and running them flat out, the same as the Tesla and the same distance. Then fill them back up and show how much more efficient they are. Cause they are!
Awesome video, greatly enjoyed as always. But I’m confused about how the range of a Tesla at full speed is relevant to the range of a single gallon of gas in these cars driving as efficiently as possible. Surely the Tesla would go farther going slowly?
Driving the car as fast as they drove the tesla would of been a better comparison but they wouldn't of got 18 laps soo they probably had to scratch that plan.

Ah yes, a fascinating episode to watch as a Model 3 base model owner 😂
I was talking with a Model 3 owner on the weekend and they left their phone in the sun in a vehicle. It got so hot that they couldn't start their Tesla. They had to put in the fridge to cool it down first.
@AutoTempest Ian - interesting. I wonder if they had the cabin overheat protection turned off. Usually that prevents things from getting too smoking in there. Although I guess if you leave a phone in direct sun it'll get pretty hot even if the air isn't too bad. I have had the phone NFC key thing not work a couple of times, but if you have internet you can use the app as a backup. -Nathan
Great episode! I felt real fear for Tyler in a Viper with old tires on a wet track. I’ve got a red rebuilt ‘03 myself and put new tires on almost immediately.
You know it's gonna be good when it starts with a surprisingly well done version of TOS.
You guys never disappoint.
Please never stop the Cartrek Series, it's arguably the best car adventure series out there.
Great episode! This is exactly what Top Gear US should have been from the beginning. Hopefully the electric cars will help save the petrol cars for us car guys. I really love Ed's Bentley Continental GT Supersports. Tavarish's blue Corvette is the last of the great classic Corvettes. Thanks.
True. If it isn't a V8 in FRONT of the driver, it isn't a corvette; it's a fiberglass Ferrari.
@@haggus71 The new C8 is an amazing looking car
I enjoyed top gear USA. I thought it was fun
Top Gear USA with Rutt, Tanner and Adam was way better than this nonsense
Kinda wished they would do 1 with the rivian truck vs a hummer, excursion and escalade pulling trailers
thought there was already a #1 towing channel on youtube ;-)
Ed with the buttons haha! I feel that! Great selection of cars this time around, you guys keep it up!
So glad your sponsors are kicking up production scale. I really love this show🔥🔥🔥
Production value and chemistry have come a very long way, especially this season. Well done!
Please don't talk about the Viper, though. I really want one someday and every time you remind people that it exists, I get further and further from being able to buy one..
This is great! My only complaint is you were trying to compare gas guzzlers to the tesla when you ran the tesla on full power and the gas guzzlers at 55mph
yesss. i thought i was the only one. don't get me wrong, i hate teslas. but that did seem unfair. i love the unplugged tesla model S Plaid tho. 🤩
It is a bunch of homers with no real respect for a better design or idea, clinging to their ice vehicles with everything they can muster. If you could build a car that can go 5 times as far with the same energy used and called it gasosheen, you all would jump on that bandwagon!! Call it electric and it is the worst thing that ever happened. You all don't make any real sense.
@@rickwilson3696 it's a bunch of car guys who enjoy driving a real car that can reliably and quickly take them long distances. You do not care about what makes cars cars, have wildly arrogant and fact-suspending ideas about saving the world, and are perfectly fine buying a shockingly expensive car that cannot take you anywhere far reliably without you spending hours and hours waiting to refuel. If you aren't a car guy, why are you watching a video about cars made by car guys?
@@rickwilson3696 Also, where do you think the energy comes from that you use to charge your battery? Spoiler alert: not your wall.
@@mpmd6.9 My solar panels. How about yours?
This really made my day! My friend passed away on a Harley exactly one year ago and I have been down but seeing this quality content fills me with joy
I didn't know this series existed until this episode. Time to binge watch now
This is Epic ⚡ Cartrek never disappoints 👍 great job guys keep it up 👍 all the best 👍
tail end of corvette is just too beautiful. gets me everytime.
I’ve watched car trek since the beginning and have wanted to buy a car through Auto tempest just to support the making of this show. But Auto tempest wasn’t in New Zealand… we have just moved to the US and one of the first things I did when I got here was jump on auto tempest and bought my dream vehicle… a 2018 Toyota Tundra 5.7 v8. Perfect timing considering the theme for this series is gas guzzlers. Thanks for the show Ed, Hoovie and Freddie. thanks Auto tempest for helping me find my dream vehicle.
That's fantastic. I'm glad you were finally able to use AutoTempest in the USA to find your Tundra! Feel free to DM us on Instagram if you want to share your story. I would be happy to share it!
I’d have to have the viper of the three. It’s just one of my favourites. I sat in a 2nd gen as a youngster and have loved them ever since
I love how the intro and the actual car choices reflect the red-yellow switcheroo between TOS and later Trek.
Ed’s voice is just amazing to listen to
I have said it before and I'll say it again, this series is the best thing to happen to car RUclips or car culture in general since the OG top gear, it meant so much to all of us and this carries that torch perfectly. Gentleman, thank you and God bless 🤙🏼🙏🏼
Ed-Math is the best version of Math.
“That’s the shocker” LOLOLOL!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂😅
A more fair comparison would’ve been to fill them all the way and running them flat out, the same as the Tesla and the same distance. Then fill them back up and show how much more efficient they are. Cause they are!
Yes a new season! Love that the runtime of this episode is longer than previous seasons. Can't wait for the other episodes!
The look on Ed's face and his gesture at 5:02 is priceless. 😂
Really gunning for an Amazon prime slot eh! Kick ass cinematography and production gents. Also rip Nichelle Nichols
Oh yes… where are you from
Wow...Love this season of Car Trek already. Great content, better cars and locations!!
Ed on those buttons in the intro was hilarious!
What is your favorite gas guzzler?

Had a rough week, this has helped. Thankyou everyone! Can't wait to see what's in store
“My last name is Hoover”
“no… that’s the shocker” 😂😂😂
Can't believe 7 seasons so far. This series is the best there is so far
Awesome video, greatly enjoyed as always. But I’m confused about how the range of a Tesla at full speed is relevant to the range of a single gallon of gas in these cars driving as efficiently as possible. Surely the Tesla would go farther going slowly?
Slow is boring. Tesla can't do fast properly. Tesla is boring, V8's forever
@@WhenHellBrokeLoose I agree dude I love the V8s, I just don’t understand the logic of the comparison they’re making.
@@gjrip Logic?!? Have you never watched car trek before? Or anything with Tyler?
@@WhenHellBrokeLoose have you ever driven a Tesla?
Driving the car as fast as they drove the tesla would of been a better comparison but they wouldn't of got 18 laps soo they probably had to scratch that plan.
