Considering Tesla Model S is built around the battery and is the highest part of the chassis strength to stop chassis flex/failure side T-bone protection....
Struct brace, lower bulkhead x-member, floor x-members all been cut, missing battery all compromising weakling chassis even more...
A Pinto style fuel tank what could go wrong...

390 gear ratio, 10 gallon fuel cell on highway if its like my car i run 70 mph at 1950 rpm it will have a range of at least 300 miles still has longer range then factory

Ice-T! I watched Rich and his crew build this car as it was released. It was such a delightful departure from his Tesla rebuilds. Honestly I just loved to read the hate in the comments from the Tesla community 😂 This really is a fantastic build. Can’t wait to see what you can do to make this project better.

Screw Elon and his taint lickers. We are AMERICANS FFS. V8 RWD. Manual trans. Anything less is COMMIE! Being sarcastic of course EV certainly has it's place but for true excitement of driving you can't beat the formula which this Tesla has.

The Model S is not that special. Its a basic sedan that happened to have electric motors and a battery.
The McLaren P1 is a multi million dollar hypercar carbon fiber chassis hybrid V8. Messing with its formula ruins the original intent and experience. That being said, I understand Freddy not putting the battery back in and yes it does save weight, but I'm just saying those two things are not as close as you want them to be.

I am still pissed that the Netflix series Rust to Riches said they "made the first v8 converted Tesla." This one has been around for YEARS and those posers couldn't even get the electronics to work ... like at all.
That pile of garbage they built was a total disaster too. Stuff just cobbled together and looked super half ass. Rich did an outstanding job on this one and puts Gotham Garage to shame.

The "concept super car" that show made was one of the worst things on 4 wheels I've ever seen.

After Rich's ICE-T build series videos, and after it went to SEMA (and met film star 😉), I thought ICE-T was a solid unit. I guess there was a lot more going on behind the camera. I will say one thing: Joshua's aluminum welds when the chassis was filleted were first rate! They were amazing! Anyway, I'm glad to see ICE-T is going to be tuned and have the kinks all worked out! 🙂
Version one built and tuned in Massachusetts was pretty dialed in. It was put through it's paces at a speedway, driven around NY city then drove form NY to MA. Now as for version two where they put a supercharger on it in Florida no comment................
The double K swap saves the trouble of that transmission tunnel, good call.

Mate the center of a Camaro hood to the outer edges of the Tesla hood. Maintains your body lines and allows for the beast under the hood.
Watched Rich build this on his channel. Cool car.
Good to see this thing again. Glad it's still kicking, few transmission issues for sure but it's still as ferocious as the day it was built

Old dex was pretty nasty. New stuff has been fine for like 10 years. Also own/ed 5 Bonnie’s lol
Good thing you have a friend who does fiberglass and another friend who does carbon fiber. 😮 I'm pretty sure you can get someone to fabricate a hood using the original as a starting point.

Send the hood to McFarland Fabrication. They're pros at hoods that don't fit.
It's always nice to clear some room in your shop it's like finally getting a squatter that's been in your home out.

"I think we are in 3rd..." That is a must fix. Nothing is more fun to drive then a loud V8 RWD manual trans car but not being 100% sure what gear you are in is a deal killer. I am sure Freddy will deal with that as well as making a cowl hood for this beast. Great content as usual.
Hey Freddie. I live in South Florida, Naples to be exact. I will make a cowl hood for that car if you want. But all expenses are on you.. or whomever as long as it is not me. Granted I would think with your talent and talent pool won't require me I will do it if no one else wants to.
Thinking ZL-1 style bonded to the cut factory hood. Finished and ready for wrap around a grand. I just need to get some measurements and take the hood to my shop for a week or so.. I am a perfectionist.
Unless you want to have it blacked out?? It would work with the trim and rims... but with a matching wrap might better fit the theme of this Tesla I am thinking. Maybe black lettering or details? So many decisions lol.
Freddy needs to video call Rich in the next episode, get it on camera, show him the progress and what's being done.

You are supposed to still use the clutch with that shifter between gear changes! It's not a sequential transmission, just that shifter. Also, the S1 shifter is prone to bending forks!
You guys should go all the way and figure out how to get the AC the radio and all the other stock features working as well

I love this build for so many reasons. Don't get me wrong I am not some kind of EV hater climate change denier. I am just addicted to how I was raised as far as driving excitement. V8, RWD, manual trans and loud. None is ever boring.
Machina Labs in Chatsworth CA might be able to help with building a hood. They have 3D programmable stamping machines that can do one off projects.
I remember Jimmy Oakes helping them initially with it, crazy to see lol

I am so jealous of these tuner guys. I have always been really good with mechanics and electronics.. even have an engineering degree in EE. My career is working on cars. But I was before the software era and am done learning ish lol. When I started out I never even considered I would have to be a software engineer to work on a freaking car.

Fuhk plaid. Ice T is where it's at, & Rich did an awesome job, along with the rest of the crew. My hats go off to them all. It's very cool to see someone thats local to me(Melbourne FL), good ol' Tavarish working on such an one off, amazingly built, work of art, but let's face it, Taverish has some of the coolest cars on the planet, like Ferrari's and McLaren's. Rich definitely picked the right guy for the job. For me, ICE - T was the ultimate middle finger to Tesla, for mainly not allowing the public to work on their vehicles in any way, & Rich rebuild was really the Pioneer on standing Up to Tesla in this regard. I think that's what makes this car so special. 👍💯
One thing I do remember is the electrical nightmare getting the factory Tesla computer to mate up to the ls ign..... I think the way they did it was they just left the car on as if it was on but not running, Without the Tesla actually knowing that it's running and driving down the road.
That's not the only one there one that was built on one of those motor trend shows.
I like how it has a huge steering wheel miss-alignment. He has to drive 15 degrees to the right in order to stay in line 😂👌🏻

OHHHH I'd Love to get that Tesla and tune it... I love tuning LS engines and scenerios with my HPTuners (Been using HPTuners since 2004 when I got my first MPVI for my '97 Grand Prix GTP and then my second tune was my '05GTO, still today, and then corvettes, camero, and now I am working on my first Ford, now that HPTuners is support A LOT of cars and manufactures!!!!! My '22 Explorer ST, god i love this SUV... but its my wifes toy she loves to go fast with.
