    Am gonna attempt to use your video to fix my system. The plumbing company that installed mine has the next opening a month out and am tired of wasting water and money. Good setup for you. Mine are in a small hole deep in the ground!

    Really great video. Unfortunately, mine don't have the air bleed screw and the valves are getting a little old installed in 2013. I am really hoping I don't have to dig up a failed line, but may need to replace the valve at the least.

      @DoItYourselfDad  Месяц назад +1

      It may just need a simple rebuild as well. Something else you can try is runing off the water at the main, letting the pressure drop and then turning the main back on.

    • @tonysfluidart
      @tonysfluidart Месяц назад

      @@DoItYourselfDad We had tried a variation of that. Unfortunately when they were installed there wasn’t a shut off added in addition the main for the entire sprinkler system and hose bib in the house.
      When I turn on the main downstairs, that zone and line don’t stop running even though the zone is also closed.

    Hi thank u for this I just followed your instructions and bleeding stopped the sprinklers .. however should I buy a rebuild kit and change it out as I paid a sprinkler man 250$ to put the value in only a yr ago.. and he won’t come back unless I pay him again!! When I did the little one to bleed it they shut off…

      I'd recommend taking it apart and checking the diaphram for leaks first. Then, if needed, rebuild it.

    If you have multiple valves, how can you figure out which is the valve you need to replace the diaphragm?

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  8 месяцев назад

      If you put your hand on the valve while its running, you should be able to feel the slight vibration of the water flowing through it. If not, press your ear to it and you will hear the water flowing.

It was in the ground , but all they did was take it apart in half and just put the new part on the top half .@@JPWRana

    Had a zone staying on. I wish my valves we set up like this mine are under a lid in the ground. I opened the lid and the whole thing was filled with dirt. I cleared alot of dirt out and water was coming out of a few of the valves it seemed like. im guessing debris but not entirely sure. House is12 yrs old so the system has to be around that old to i would think.

    So I have 11 zones in my system. My system runs off of a shallow well with a 2 Hp pump. System comes on fine with timer and works great until it reaches zone # 8. At that point pressure drops dramatically in zone #8 and only a small stream comes from one or two of that zones heads. I then go to my well pump and crack the threaded bleeder on top of the impeller housing. air bubbles will then come out and within a minute or two zone #8 will pressurize and come to life. The system will then finish off the remaining watering cycle without a hitch. Next day this same problem will repeat. What might I check in my system? Thanks

      Do you have a leak? They shouldn't be submerged. If that's the case, shut off the water and drain the area before working.

      It was weird, turned on water for the 1st time this yr. Water would not turn off only by water main valve. Even unplugged system it was still on. Box in ground was covered in water. One of the 3 air bleed screws was all the way open. I closed the valve and the water shut off and everything acted normal. Could it have been that simple, valve was open and filled up the box with water?

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  2 месяца назад +1

      @@13salinaspride That was probably it, bleed valved will leak a good amount of water when open, so hopefully that fixed it. Best of luck!
