    After more than 5 years of watching this channel I still find it to be THE BEST small engine tinkering channel on YT. I especially love the motorised self made bikes, a testament of creativity and intelligent design. I learned a lot of valuable things here, so thank you very very much for all that and all good wishes to you for the future !
    Personally I don't care for higher resolution, or better audio quality, I still would have learned and enjoyed them things in 720p. So thanks again for not advertising us off topic crappy video games on the way, that really really rocks ! ;)

    For me, he could rebuild a carb every episode and I'd still watch.
    I do like how he changes up on projects tho.
    Most likely swapping over to another one mid project while waiting for parts and other items he needs to show up.
    1 hour episodes are a treat.
    It's his wit and self depreciating humor that keeps me entertained.

One of the things that was awesome about being a kid at that time was, the freedom to goof around. If you broke your arm, or something like that, you just took care of it & didn't file a lawsuit. The hand cleaner and bolts in the tank reminded me of an awesome tip: You can take GoJo orange hand cleanser and coat a rusty spot on chrome or shiny steel; you then take aluminum foil and use either strips or a ball of it as a scrubber. The Gojo with it's light abrasive acts as the perfect rust remover and polishing agent, the aluminum is softer than the steel and supercharges the rust removal and polishing with it's interaction with other ingredients in the orange soap... I took the rustiest rims and other chrome(ish) parts= they came out looking perfect, rust even is removed from pitted areas.

    I discovered your channel about 4 years ago. I binge watched every video to start with and I look forward to every video when it drops. I understand trying not to dwell on one project too long to keep interest in your channel. I think I speak for the majority of your followers when I tell you that's one thing you don't have to worry about. Whether it's putting a grill together, cleaning up your camp, or doing a will it run video on something you picked from the side of the road. If it says Mustie1, I'm gonna watch it. I've said it before Darren, keep doing what you do, whatever it is, and we'll keep watching. Merry Christmas from your neighbor over here in Maine. Cheers my friend. 😁👍🎄

    This old bike cleaned up nice, just enough patina to maintain its street cred. I would replace all of that wiring; it will cause problems down the road.
    Please do more of these videos where you put effort into cleanup as well as the mechanical 👍

    another awesome video, i feel personally that some of your best videos are the ones where you go from recovery to a full ruststore. seeing a total wreck that most people see, then 5 videos later, a working engine repaired bodywork breaks, wheels, exhaust, to a fully running and complete vehicle. i have learnt so much from watching your videos, i was even brave enough to do my first rebuild on a carburettor, and guess what " I nailed it" was a big surprise for me i must say. love your videos and what you do, from a noob mechanic in the UK.

      I also prefer the year long rustomods but understand that loses a lot of engagement with today's instant gratification audience. The survival of the channel takes precedence over keeping a few core viewers happy.
      Just be happy he doesn't open every video screaming HEY GUYS IT'S YA BOI MUSTIE BACK WITH ANOTHER RESCUE VIDEO!!!! With cringey cartoon face punch sound effects overlaid on it. Honestly if he did that for just one video I would probably die laughing my f*ing ass off.

    Yep I remember these. Fun. Don't sweat the cameras. Keep using those Canons. They're fine. DJI does snoop on you and possibly mines that data and sells it. I have a Pocket2 camera even does 4K. But you just need 1080P. Keeps you file size lots smaller. I will shoot sometimes in 1440P, but rarely in 4K unless something really special. I keep old electronics alive on my channel. Not too old. Oldest is like the early 70s. Love your channel. Keep it as it is. The formula works well. You and 5150vw are my favorites. Don't fall into that RUclips trap of selling us stuff we don't want, or need. Thank you Mustie1 for all you do. Happy Holidays too, to you and your family.

    Hi mustie, very interesting point of view on cameras. I tried documenting some of my travel with phone camera, then an entry level action-camera. But then I found out I don't really want to be bothered with anything and rather focus and enjoy the scenery. I ride/drive mostly solo and find life peaceful when there's nobody to bother me with.

      He learned by doing, and not being afraid to dive in. You can do it too, and with the 21st century information superhighway, info is much easier to come by online. You had to be a real pro to be able to fix this Honda ST90 back when it broke (30 years ago), because you had to buy an expensive manual or learn it all by yourself, maybe in a technical school.

But you're still one of my favorite sites and have always enjoyed every one of your videos.😊👍🇺🇸🔧 On a side note I had to run into my local Home Depot the other day and as I was leaving passed right by a Ford Econoline like the one you have fully restored in a beautiful kinda seafoam green and white😊👍

    for cameras, id reccommend getting a polarising lens, I think also called a neutral density filter. doesnt really effect image quality at all, theyre meant for blocking out reflections and other polarised light, but to everything other than that theyre perfectly clear. they cover the lens and are pretty cheap so theyll save the glass on it from any debris so instead of you replacing the whole lens or camera, you just replace the cheap bit of plastic.

    • @dailyreader506
      @dailyreader506 Год назад +2

      Yes exactly. A great idea I’ve used one for years. As you note very economical.

    • @spacerconrad
      @spacerconrad Год назад +1

      Yep, even a camera without threads for a filter can be adapted, then you only have to replace the sacrificial bit, saving the camera.

    • @lgude
      @lgude Год назад +1

      Polariser yes to protect the lens and redone reflections if they are a problem. No to Neutral density filters which reduce the light level to allow photographing in overly bright situations so are not called for here. Should work if the filter can be attached easily.

    • @el34superlead
      @el34superlead Год назад

      The problem with polarizer or ND filter is they don't work well in low light. A polarizer is made to remove glare and a ND filter is to block light when being used in very bright sun. But there are clear filters made to protect the lens.
