Your brakeless, throttleless minibike reminded me. Me and a buddy bought a go cart for $20. No brakes, no throttle, we knew nothing about clutches. We got it running and the engine would run at full throttle, tire spinning, so we'd put it up on blocks, one of us would jump un and the other would push it off the blocks. It would just run wide open throttle until it died or we ran into something. Lol, good times!

As i remember those ST 90's were marketed towards adults as a take along vehicle to have with your camper or motorhome. One of my coworkers back in the 1980's had a pair of them for him and his wife just for that. They were a couple that decided to never have kids of their own so they could travel all over on the weekends and on vacation.

Mustie, you are training thousands of people how to restore a bike so they have something to ride with their friends, excellent for a man and his son or daughter to do together. 15 years ago my 10 years old son wanted a 4 wheeler, so I said he has to learn how to fix it because I wans't . So we bought a Yamaha Warrior in boxes and pieces and he had to do the research to find out how it went together, what parts we needed and if the engine was good. Some of the holes were stripped, so I taught him about tapping and retapping threads, wheel bearings, installation, wiring, battery maintenance, engine rebuild, the whole nine yards. Since then he has been through 4 motorcycles and 3 wheelers. He buys them and fixes them up and uses the profits to buy a better unit. So you are helping to make America great again, LOL, yourself. Keep up the great videos.

Just think, before the internet age you had to have a real background with fixing things, the "heart of a tinkerer" at the very least, but many were afraid and thought basic repairs were beyond their skillset. And now, we have people willingly sharing their secrets and many times they are professional mechanics who, by sharing, are possibly losing business by teaching someone to do their own repairs.

Song Mountain near Syracuse, NY used to have the "Alpine Slide" in the warmer months when I was a kid (40+ years ago). Sounds exactly like what you described. Concrete track, sleds with skateboard wheels underneath that defaulted to the brake position. You pulled a lever to make the wheels contact the track. The faster you went, the harder you ran into the kid in front of you who was too scared to race down the mountain. It was a blast! Thanks for bringing those memories back.

My brother had a 60 something Honda Trail 90, that he bought used. He'd take it deer hunting and use it to drag the deer back to his old Econoline Ford van. It was a tough little bike. One day, he was on his way back from a hunt, driving down a interstate. The Honda was secured to the back of the van, until it wasn't. It came loose and bounced of it's rack at around 80MPH, it was then eaten by a mid 70's Lincoln Town Car.

It is nice to see an "older" thing functioning again. It is not about the popularity or the value. It's all about seeing it running again. You don't get to see them anymore because, people didn't see the worth of maintaining them, once the repair cost became too high. People who fixes old things, are becoming a dying breed. Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas! A fine grit sand paper, DA or palm sander will take down the foam, even memory foam. It helps for installing seat covers if your use a thin plastic bag over the foam like a really cheap generic trash bag. Also, steaming the seat cover after installing helps for final fit and tightening all your seams up.

Hey Dennis. I enjoyed listening about your times in Accident Park. I live near the Meadowlands and I used to go up there in the summer with friends during my high school years. You would absolutely have to test the brakes on the carts used on the Alpine Slide. A few of my friends did not slow down on the high banked curves and wound up paying the price of bruises and cuts and scrapes and friction burns. The documentary on HBO Max stated it was dismantled and reassembled somewhere in the State of Pennsylvania. Never got enough of guts built up to try it again. I am just glad I survived. Thanks for the memories and happy holidays.

That's an impressive amount of oil for a little engine. Merry Christmas to all of the family, this has to be the most intensive services I've seen in a long time on an old bike, would be worth a good bit of money upon selling if including the video of all the work done to it. Was thinking about the chrome, I've had reasonable results with aluminum foil scrunched up and rubbed into the pitting, seems to fill those small pits very well.

Merry Christmas! Growing up in NY, I had a friend who had started his life in NJ. He would often go visit family there. One time he came home from one of those visits, and he was torn up pretty good, scabs everywhere. Looked like he had been drug behind the family car for a couple of miles. He told us all about Action Park that day. Apparently, he flipped one of those carts, and slid down the concrete tube it rids in for a pretty substantial distance, mostly on his face and arms.

Merry Xmas Mustie - never knew ATF was a sub for fork oil- why not? Nothing better than soap SOS pads for rim rust

SOS pads work great on rusty spots. Not too sure about ATF. Why not just use fork oil?

I live in germany where the little hondas were sadly only sold as 50's with the 10" wheels (maybe some 70's not sure). I personally own a Honda DAX replica with 125cc's and wonder how much greater it would ride with these big spokewheels, let alone how great those would look on it. But I guess I'd have to get taller suspension and a longer swingarm if there was a way to get wheels like the ST90's here in germany.
Great Video and Merry Christmas :D

Cut all the bad old pad about 2 or 3 inches down replace it with a new memory foam top that you have a lot of upstairs that you can shape with you cool electric turkey knife. Your ass will thank you.
Love all your stuff brother keep liven good and fixing stuff and I'll keep watching.
