The same thing I will said
Cant forget mk 23!!
Nice list
Akm? For best ever? Lr308 remingtom 700 (aka the m24 sniper rifle) is definitely above the akm but that more geard towards accuracy. The ak47 is definitely #1 if you are going with best service rifle of all time. Just can't clump guns together into a best of all time unless you have sub categories
A list sans a Winchester repeating rifle is a waste of everyones time, respectfuly.
Eric, the movie 🎥 you were trying to refer to was "In the Line of Duty" starring Clint Eastwood. It was John Malkovich who had the composite gun that was sitting by the creek shooting the ducks when the other hunters came up on him and regretted their curiosity.
*In the Line of Fire

It's a good list.
When you said A10 I literally said YES !! out loud like I was in an herbal essences commercial.

bahaha
I’m 62 and never owned a Ruger 10-22 but I still have my Marlin Glenfield 25 bolt action 22lr, it was my first gun and learned how to shoot on. I love guns and have been around them since I was 10. Keep on doing what you do, I’ve been watching your channel for a long time and enjoy your content. 👍🇺🇸
62 years young! You need to get yourself a 10/22. You'll love it!
I do have the 10/22 but I still have my 1930s Savage Model 66 .22 bolt action w 24” barrel! SO quiet with subs and 1-1 1/2” groups with open sights all day long! I couldn’t even guess how many squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, coyotes, etc., etc. and etc. I have with it! LOL They do NOT make em like they use to! Even this BUDGET Rifle if then is better made than many top tier .22s NOW! I’m 50 this year so you and I grew up in the golden age compared to what young people have to deal with today when it come to guns. We had school rifle teams and I was one of the rednecks with the shotgun and rifle in the rack of my truck, parked in the school parking lot! Funny how WE never had school shootings back then! Now that they have made the kids “safe” from guns? They get shot up every time you turn around now!

Well done. Your list is the first one I've read with the Mauser bolt action. I have a Peruvian Modelo 1935, which is only one of the many rifles that is virtually the same action.
Nice list
Good video. The movie wasnt the Jackel. It was "In the Line of Fire". The actor who made the gun, and was sitting by the ducks, was John Malkovich.
12:24 “if you could only have one semi-auto 10/22, I would argue that the 10/22 must be in that list” hmmm you don’t say…😂
The only 2 I expected on the list that I didn't see, was the Garand and the 1911. I didn't expect the fostech origin, but the rest of the list made sense to me. The STG44 could have made the list as well, just because of how influential it was.
Where is the Lee-Enfield 303? It was in military service for 100 years, all over the world.
Yep. Here in Canada, our Rangers were even equipped with them until 2014, which is really saying something.
Why would that be on your list? (Genuine curiosity here not sarcasm!)
Mauser 98, Winchester 1897, Smith & Wesson #10, 1911, Browning 1919, M1 Garand, StG44, AK-47, AR-15 and the Barrett M82.
I got the M1C15 version 10/22 …..
REALLY puts off the M1carbine vibe!
Also rocking the x22 backpacker take down…. Both were absolute “ no brainers “ when they appeared on the shelf at the local shop 🙂
The M1 Garand should’ve been on this list…it was the first semi-auto battle rifle adopted for a major army plus served as the Inspiration for MANY features and guns (even influenced the AK-47 considering the AK action is based off of a M1!).
Good mornin Matt & Eric
List of stuff to buy after watching this:
1.) Ruger 10/22
2.) DSA FAL
3.) Benelli M3
4.) A10 Warthog

Made right here in Middle Tennessee.

Thatd be my top 10 to own for a good all around defense/hunting/survival/concealed carry/bug out setup. A little of everything for any situation. All very common ammo, easy to maintain, reliable proven designs, and easy to acquire parts for (except MAYBE the M1). And also wouldn't draw alot of unnecessary attention.
On the FAL, we shafted ourselves on the platform, but also on the cartridge. I believe the FAL was presented in .280, but we (the US) were on the 30 cal or bust bandwagon. Now we're back full circle with the .277 Fury.
given the 277's specs I just don't think it's here to stay, but yes we would have been much better served by the FAL
@@StevenL00 If we had done the 280 in the FAL, we may not have ended up with the AR-15 as a thing, or even the 556.
@@scottstewart5784 Not sure how you reach this conclusion considering 5.56 was invent by the man responsible for the steyer aug
@@jmon1177 Ok maybe it would exist but it maybe wouldn't have been the universal NATO cartridge had we adop[ted the .280 vs the 7.52/308.

My list of firearms is: a German Mauser model 712 schnell fire pistol, a German M.P.-38 Submachine gun, a German Heckler and Koch M.P.-5 /10 mm Auto, the Israeli Galili ARM, the Finnish Valmet model 62 rifle, Arsenal Sam-5, an AR-15 in caliber 6.5 mm Grendel and
224 Valkyrie.
H&K P7 because of the innovation of a grip safety and the piston driven system in a pistol
The p7 isn't piston driven, although it has what may be called a "piston," it's not a gas driven piston in the sense of gas pushing a piston to unlock the breach, but the opposite, where the piston resists the force of the slide by holding against gas pressure.. sorry to nitpick!
Aka gas delayed
I'm sure the people running this channel understand what I'm saying
@@lexluther934 sure, just wanted to be sure YOU understood what you were saying! 🍻
"If you go through a Third World Country-{ or a back road lost driving through Newark, New Jersey! }
Went there once and got delayed behind a murder investigation. No need to go back.
Been there many times at OJ's tank wash
No M1 Garand or BAR? Both used in WWII and affectIve around the world…
M1 Garand should've been in there for sure. BAR is cumbersome and ergonomically a mess. I own one and I love it but it's definitely not in the top 10.
Love this video ( living in the U.K. ) we have very very strict gun control laws, but thanks to people like yourself I find your videos very informative:) plus who wouldn’t want to own an AK variant or a Barrett M107
I'm so sorry. Come to the united states and you can shoot my AK if you want
I like your videos so much that I press "like" before watching the video because I trust 'em...
1) the most important evolution of all lever action repeating rilfles.....
the Model 92 Winchester lever action chambered in 30-30 Win.
2) Mauser bolt action rifle (any caliber)
3) Colt 1911 Gov't Model .45acp.
4) M-1 Garand .30-06
5) Ak-47, AKM, et al. 7.62x39
6) AR-15
7)S&W Model 29 .44 Mag. (a special thank you to Elmer Keith and Dirty Harry)
8) S&W Model 27 registered .357 Magnum ( if you've ever owned a pre-war Model 27, I'm sure you would agree)
9) the Chicago typewriter...Thompson smg .45 acp
10)Model. 97 Win. 12 GA . pump shotgun ( trench gun)
any order
For the pump shotgun: Mossburg 500/590 for its durability and the safety is in the right place for a shotty. Followed by Winchester Model 12 because you can pin the trigger back and pump the action to fire additional rounds. Followed by the Remington 870 for its prevelance and provinance with law enforcement. The M3 is 4th or worse on the list of 12 ga iconic shotguns.
I say the mg34 and 42 with its belt feeding system as how much people copied the belt feeding mechanisms and how much of an influence it has by coming up with the general purpose machine gun but that’s my opinion
Ty for being my favorite RUclipsr
Did ya'll forget the HK G3 exists? That system is still being used today UNALTERED by MODERN militaries...
All that changes is the furniture. Design is near seventy years old now and has endured no major alterations.
I like my pcc for home defense, although if I had a 9 inch suppressed 300 blackout I don't think I'd have a use. Right now it's cheaper to practice, I'm more comfortable shooting inside my house over my 5.56 ar and it's shorter for corners than my AR.
Slight apocalypse chance of I bet I'll find some 9s.
The A-10 gun is the GAU-8 Avenger. The Vulcan is the 20 mm gatling mounted on numerous other aircraft
I hate to break this to you but the odds of running into guys wearing full kit while your clearing a room in combat in most parts of the world are pretty low . I served all over the world and most encounters weren't against equally equipped soldiers , so unless WWIII kicks off a PCC will always have a place especially for civilians and for Special Operations that deal in lots of different CQB environments .
My thoughts also, especially as a civilian. Most people I know do not have any body armor let alone full on body armor. Of course a rifle round is superior but….
Might as well have a rifle round in that size of firearm
I'm going to guess here at the start that Eric put the K-31 on the list?
In any order
1. Ar15
2. Akm
3. Glock 17
4. Cz scorpion evo3 a1 sd
5. Pkm
6. Kac M110
7. Barret mrad mk22
8. Sig mcx
9. Cz bren br
10. Vepr12 sbs
WC. Atlas gunworks artemis
Feels like so often when I listen to these guys, I just wonder where the fuq they live that they need to clear rooms of body armor clad gents so often.
Good video brothers
In Vietnam 50% of the issues with the M16 was the ammos they used. 40% was the lack of training in cleaning and lack of cleaning kit and 10% was that the guns just didn't function well (initally) in rain/lake/mud but that also brings us back to cleaning...
Now I wanna see the follow-up roast. I know most things have an application, however, I wanna see hahaha, I wanna see how Eric and Matt roast others on why their picks don't make sense.

M1 Garand.
AK 47
AR 10
Remington 870

ALL OF THESE GUNS WERE THE GAME CHANGERS.
You could easily think of 10 just from the USA - the first thing that came to mind was the Colt Single Action Army, then in no particular order the 1911, the Browning 50 cal MG, the Kentucky Long Rifle, the AR15 or maybe the M1 Carbine, the Garand, the Lee-Enfield rifle (because Mr Lee was living in the USA by the time he designed his system), the original Gatling gun, the Remington 870, the Thompson SMG. Outside the USA, the Webley top-break revolvers, the Mosin Nagant rifle and the AK47, the Sten, the Kar98K, the MG42, the Sturmgewehr 44, the Mauser “broomhandle” C96, and maybe the Chauchat as a wildcard. (Haven't listened properly to the video yet).

34:50 "almost 41 magnum velocities out of (10mm) glock". Lets be honest - My 210 to 230 grain Buffalo Bore or Underwood 41Mag ammo is traveling at 1400 - 1500fps vs the 160-180 grain 10mm from those same manufacturers at 1450 - 1600 fps. It is a 20 to 25 % tradeoff in weight for a 8% tradeoff in velocity. Those same 41 mag rounds do between 1,035 and 1,140 lbs/ft vs those same brand 10mm which are all under 950lbs/ft. It isn't even close. Very good 10mm is about equal to very good .357 mag - but is still sub-par to very good 41 Mag. My buffalo bore .357 180 grain hardcast will do about 820 lbs/ft energy - making it very comparable to their offerings in 10mm and waaaaaaayyyyy shy of their offerings in 41 magnum.

I used to have a 10/22 years ago , and i swear i thought that i had bought a 50 round magazine but i can't find the same kind that i had. I sold it but recently bought another 10/22 takedown with a synthetic stock then i put a franklin armory binary trigger in it. It will burn up a box of shells very fast. Still wish i could find that 50 round magazine somewhere. If anyone knows where i can find one let me know. I think condor made it. It was a rotary magazine not like the big round ones that they make now.
Ugh binary triggers are the worst idea ever. Why on earth would you want that
THIS is my next buy/ setup.
The thing I like the most about the Barrett which I hope is true I've listened to multiple individuals talk about how he will not sell to any law enforcement that restrict their citizens from owning this rifle at least throughout the u.s. so if parts of California so you cannot own a Barrett 50 well in those parts of California neither can the law enforcement if that isn't standing up for everyday Americans then what is
If all companies did that, I bet we would even have full autos easily accessible nation wide. It's precisely because the lawmakers decided that citizens can, but exempt cops, that they do not want to change the laws.

Any version of the Marlin 1895 lever action in .45-70. Any of the top semiauto 12 gauge like the Remington Tac 13, an older model Remington 1100 like the sporting one I made into a riot gun version with a green laser and blinding white laser flashlight I have on many of my long guns. A Mossberg 930 Security 12 gauge semi or the upcoming 940 model. A Benelli or Beretta military models or the VEPR 12 gauge semi auto AK-47 style. My modified and them some old model, 1981 maybe, 870 Wing Master turned into a 10 round 12 gauge with a Hasting's heavy barrel, a self modified elevator to stop feed issues under stress, flat black heat resistant oven spray paint for problem area finishes, and my beloved Ithaca model 37 riot models back when they had no disconnector and fired slam firing like a semi auto. My modified M60 LMG from the military-actually shot one in competitions-I used mine like an iron sight rifle, even from the shoulder/standing. An H&K MP5. My two 1911s in my double shoulder rig-a Para Ordnance GI Expert and a Springfield Range Officer, .45 ACPs. My Ruger Vaquero old model with .45 Long Colt +Ps backing up my Beretta 90-Two 9mm I'd shoot ant match with this improvement model over any 92/M9. My magazine matching Beretta C-4 Storm carbine 9. I pop one of my digital Night Vision models on this little tack driving carbine. My To Semiauto from Full Auto original RPK-47 rifle I smoothed up and modified to tear up targets with its AK-47 magazine interchangeability, I use only 158 (Heavy) grain Soft Point rounds. I've shot tennis balls off the deck at 350 yards with my baby. My Polish Paratrooper AKM with under folder stock with green laser/white flashlight laser/Fenix red flashlight I use with my NV head set at times. My Ruger AR-15 top model with gas piston standard and their first 6.8 SPC spec 1 chamber. This rifle has literally dropped two oak trees! This makes sense as its close cousin .270 is called a ''Tree Killer'' too! Bwhaaaa! Saudi's palace security use 6.8 SPC now right after the stats on it came out. It is a fast dropper unlike the average 5.56mm in my day. Peace out until my migraine has stopped sometime.

Fn Fal is a beast......................and PROVEN TOO !!!🤠😎 Do they have an Ak that takes 5.56 mag and shoot it !!!?? Checkout the SAS 12 pump only ,same brand ~~~
My list would include:

2 Rossi Pump 22
3 Mossberg 590
4 Browning Hi Power
5 M1 Garand
6 AK 74
7 Glock 17
8 SKS
9 P90
10 Remington 700
My list is pretty similar to the original, but
1. AR-15
2. AK pattern rifle
3. Ruger 10/22
4. Henry 1860
5. Mauser 98
6. Glock
7. Winchester 1897 pump (grand dad to most pump shotguns at least in the concept of action style)
8. Colt 1873 SAA
9. Barrett m82
10. M1 garand (American history) OR FAL (world history)
Wild card: the loser of 10. Because the m1 was a major shift in American military doctrine and arguably contributed to our success in WW2. The FAL however has contributed more to world history than the M1 between every African brush war and being the right arm of the free world for as long as it was.
I just don’t think the spas 12/m3 nor the FosTech have made a big enough splash in the industry to unseat some of these. They are very innovative but they haven’t altered the industry with echoes across time or a clear turning point from what came before.
20 gauge/.62 cal. smooth bore Trade Gun. form the 1700's through the 1800's almost 200 years of use.
Ronnie Barrett is a Genius 👍👍👍
The FAL was a dud in desert warfare, but excellent in all other scenarios.

I have always thought that a PCC is a great gun for my wife in a home defense situation.
In no particular order:
Brown Bess
Henry Rifle
Gatling Gun
M1 Garand
AR-15
AK-47
STG-44
I know that's only 7 but I can't really think of any others that fit.
I kept wondering if anyone was going to mention the Gatling Gun.
I got my brother a 10/22 when he turned 14, 15 now. When we go to the range he can easily burn a box of 500 through it.
No Colt SAA or Winchester 1873? Wow
1. 10/22
2. 1911
3. Glock 17
4. 870
5. Hellcat
6. AR
7. Ithica SXS
8. Benelli M4
9. HS200
10. Hi-Point
Everybody needs to have at least one .22 LR in their collection. Ruger 10/22 is an excellent choice.
Honestly the single most important firearm was probably the 40mm Bofors.
The leak lol 👀
