- I have been asked to do this theme for so many times, and I actually promised to cover it in the earlier videos. I didn't want to rush it because Frog's theme deserves an epic arrangement. It took more time than expected, but I hope it was worth the wait!

I was crying when I saw Frog wield the Masamune for the first time and destroyed a mountain when his theme played. IDK, for me, that moment is kinda epic.

he's not exaggerating. the masamune is a shard of lavos, who literally feeds on your unconscious thoughts. aka, your dreams. he's the only one with such a focused dream that he can continue to hold onto it after his sword has EATEN it.
it also makes his ability to spare magus that much more powerful. his sword would have been powered enough to kill magus by himself. and he puts it away. he's a knight, who vowed to kill magus. it's not just a dream, but an oath. so why would a knight break that oath? he DIDN'T. if he does spare magus, it's because he realized he DID kill "magus". the one standing in front of him, is janus, who Frog has not made any oath to kill. if he does kill him, it's murder. and considering the recent event, assisted suicide. and a knight would HEAVILY frown on suicide. he is able to avoid using the sword, because the sword cant feed off a dream that does not exist.
I actually started crying. Well, time to go cut a mountain in half.

That was epic. Frog's theme is one of my favorite RPG music pieces. And Chrono trigger's OST is one of the greatest of all time.

I enjoy how you say "frogs theme DESERVES" and I completely agree with you. Not just because the selection of music is awesome but because the character is awesome. To me frog is awesome because there's so many parts of him. The kid who got picked on, the squire who watched his friend and mentor die, the castaway humiliated by his failure, the devoted guardian who would protect his King and Queen at any cost and the time traveling hero out to save the world and redeem himself and his fallen friend. His music captures all those aspects and I think you incorporated them into your version brilliantly.
That is is deep and insightful. You really shined the light on his character. Beautiful.

Frog (Glenn) was my synonym for bravery and for a real hero (hes my personal real hero from Chrono trigger). well made sound .
fun fact about frog. technically, he never actually broke his vow to kill magus when he turned down the duel to the death. he did "kill" magus. by saving the person inside who he used to be. after all, his vow WASNT to kill janus. that would just be assisted suicide, and a knight from medieval times would HEAVILY frown on suicide

I'm a gamer since age of 3, now i'm 27.. i discovered this game just few years ago btw.. when i first heard this song my cheeks where literally seas of tears.. these notes make us feel the benevolent revenge energy, the promise from past times, the streght to awake from sleep of depression. And what i love more than anything, these notes where chosen by programmers for a videogame! How great can be a videogame? Think about that, cause we probably will never have a dreamteam like that again

every Saturday morning I wake up, get my coffee, grab some toast or a bagel and sit down with the wife and daughter. about 20 minutes into breakfast I always turn on a Frog theme metal cover.
my 4 year old daughter is trained to the point that she will ask for me to play it.
she has made a point to look for this thumbnail in my favorites folder.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, so many people saying this made them cry/put a lump in their throat, me too man, me too. Such beautiful sound, such nostalgia, and of course, the badass theme Glenn always deserved, never realized how much I looked up to that character as a little kid, he seriously was my video game hero. Only way i defeated queen zeal without items since someone tampered with my inventory. Fought through that 1 hp with masamune crits and rage counters. lol
