I just unexpectedly bought this at my local hobby store today. Been wanting to get back into RC but in the crawler segment. Dude who worked there told me these just came out and that they only had one left and for the price I figured why not. Was debating getting a 1/24 Axial crawler but I’m glad I accidentally stumbled upon this one for the same price as the Axial. Way better deal.
@@Masemoto ohh I thought you meant 250 on hop ups alone 🤣 yeah you can definitely spend $100 easily on these smaller rigs. Few brass pieces and some nice wheels would be $100 for the scx24 for sure
Really like your videos. My defender is coming this week. I pre ordered from a local shop 1 week ago. Please keep the upgrades (hop ups) reviews coming. I like the energy of your video s. It's not kitchy or over done just passion for your craft. Your driving videos make me feel like I in the truck.
Glad you like them! Thanks so much!! Comments like these give me inspiration to keep going! Sometimes I question if it's even worth doing these videos but knowing people actually like what I'm doing make it all worth it!!
Is there going to be enough stock for me to just walk into my local hobby shop and get it for the next couple weeks? Or are they going to be just all pre ordered or on hold?
Honestly no upgrades are really required out of the box! Upgrades always help or make it look cool but the box stock version is really good! I always start with a better servo on all RTR's. I recommend Just playing around and then you might see what you want to hop-up. Light kits are real cool.
Another reason to use the bronco is it has more performance potential. The defender has worse CoG and much worse bumpers (approach and departure angles)
The broncos bumpers are wider. It's just a little bit of plastic up top. CoG can be stabilized with metal parts or wheel wights. Shove some bb's in the tires super glue the rubber on and drive the little gitter. Defender all the way.
@@andrewleonberger7477 doesn’t matter how much weight you add, each gram of brass down low will be a higher % of the total weight meaning the CG will always be lower assuming you put the same amount of weight on both
I’m a little tired of these RC influencers making it seem like every RC needs to be upgraded to enjoy it. Your watching an infomercial, these upgrades are cosmetic and don’t impact performance whatsoever. Maybe tuning with different gear sets, a little weight and tires is all you really need to get the most out of these tiny trucks.
It's a hobby and upgrades are available. People who want some upgrades can watch the video to see them first then make a choice from there. What's the big deal? It's content to watch. We are also a hobby shop and website that sells these products. All our videos are info-videos in some form or another. Thanks for watching!
If all that is essential then that would mean the TRX4M is garbage out of the box. However that is NOT TRUE it is a great truck box stock. The title of this video ensures that I will not watch any more of your videos. People like you make it harder for new people to get into the hobby. If a new RC hobbyist saw this video they may get turned off the hobby, by thinking they "have to" get all these extras that are NOT by any means necessary. As a RC enthusiast I try to get people in the hobby not scare them off with over the top unnecessary expenses. That said, I do all of the upgrades you spoke on and many more. I put way way way too much money into this hobby that I love, but I'm a seasoned RCer. So to me I don't mind spending the money on upgrades. But don't call any of this ESSENTIAL......It's a hobby and at the end of the day, they are just toys! The video was good just misleading. I know you do it for the clicks but don't be that guy....
Agree, out of the box is good, no need for upgrades. If something breaks in the future you can always upgrade or replace with stock items. In the mean time, enjoy this little juwel.

That's pretty lucky! To get this RC just walking into a hobby shop to get back into RC! Enjoy!
Only $150 but I've already spent $250+ on Traxxas hop-ups and I don't even have the truck yet. Haha... that's how they get you!
Phew! How’d you do that!? All you really need is a little brass up front, wheels, and tires
And probably a servo 😅
Add up the cost of the accessories installed in this video and I bet it’s pushing $250. Not hard to get there real quick.

for sure. By the time we're done it will be worth over $500 lol!
For sure

Is Traxxas coming out with a clear body? I don't want to cut up and glue a brand new silver defender up if I don't have to.
Not sure on that one. I have bodies but so far they are all colored plastic.
Only upgrade you need out the box is light kit so you can craw at night. Other then that they are good
100%

I would call your local shop and see if they will have inventory. We have 100
What upgrades should I do for mine to start with? Budget around 150

Low crawl gear for sure! Also some slightly larger hexes to corrected the binding issues. Should only cost like $15 for those 2 parts.
How long does it take to charge and how long is the run time.thanks
Depends. about 20 minutes to charge out of the box. 1 hour run time ish
Good video thank you...
welcome
Word is Amain Hobbies will be allowed to sell online! Starting Nov. 25, 2022 And of course Traxxas website.
Very interesting! Let's see how the online sales play out.
Another reason to use the bronco is it has more performance potential. The defender has worse CoG and much worse bumpers (approach and departure angles)
Very good points! We are just using the bronco because it's unused. By the time we're done it will be worth over $500 lol!

Looking forward for the upcoming performance part reviews. Or how people have modified these Minni beautiful beasts.
