I think I've done irreversible damage from my earlier teenage years which has caused my hair to never grow past medium length. Maybe i just have serious shrinkage.
This has really helpled a lot. I only started learning about hair and scalp care recently, in my 30's, and this has been one of the most informative and easiest to understand videos ive seen. Well done👌🏾
I Have 4c hair, which has been growing for 6 years, and I've maintained it decently. I think I naturally have really high porosity hair and my hair can literally dry after washing In 5 minutes. Last year I was styling in Twist which was ok. I occasionally took out twists and let my hair breathe without washing and it stayed stretched and curly and didn't shrink or smell for some reason so I liked it. Everything was good until about the end of the year. Combination factors of keeping twist in for 2 months with no wash locked in on the basketball season, along with lots of stress that school year due to being so active and leaving hair out in a fro for two weeks (despite being moisturized daily) led to some of it falling out in February of this year (about 2 inches I'm guessing with maybe 3 to 4 in an alopecia like spot in the back). I could make a 1-foot-long deadlock after every wash with the dead hair. I stopped twisting (because after that it looked dumb) and started braiding but my hair isn't really the same anymore. I don't know if I just grew up and my head grew or what. my hair used to have volume and take up space having bounce, but now it takes a lot more of that 4c pattern to it; instantly shrinking on every occasion. Water, style, stretching, or whatever I do it doesn't really matter. My hair is also starting to turn grey in some areas slowly as a teenager. The front of my hair is going to the bottom of my chin. The question is am I forgetting something or is just genetics and dreads are the only solution. I'm looking for good answers because I've been doing the basics as I'm not new to this and even been doing hot oil treatments but it almost seems as if I need a protein pack or something. Stay blessed and may the Lord be with anyone who responds.

Great stuff gee…. I just have one question… for those involved in sport activities.. how are you supposed to take care of your hair… I’m talking relative to washing it ones a week or 2 but with all the sweat and stuff….. how is one supposed to delay with it?….
It’s important that you got your micro nutrients right for hair it’s Zink, Biotin and Selen. try reducing the stress lvl, drink enough water and massage your spots with rosemary oil. use a derma roller like 3 times a week max and pray that it’s not too late if you are in your 20s it can help if not you gotta find other things to be proud of you know it’s all a cosmetic thing
Good diet No hot water Find out porosity and get tips for that Don't do stressful hair styles Moisterize and make moist always. Always detangle but gently maybe by water or using detangling products.
@Foe_K personally I'm not even sure cause if I detangle a day after moisterizing my hair tears a lot. So do you de tangle your hair everyday or sometimes within a week and if you do do you always moisterize before hand.
@LuhDon_2 I moisterize everyday sometimes. Sometimes I don't. Main difference is that my hair is more curly and compressed when I moisterize everyday but detangling with like a comb is less painful. I'm not sure if the hair difference is much between them for me personally.
i know this is a dumb question, but usually i leave my braids in (cornrows and boxbraids) for like 1-2 months. Is it possible to wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner, even with my braids in?
Not everyone is going to have Long hair. Hair growth is largely genetics, with the rest diet and health. And how you treat your hair. Never focus on someone else hair. Focus on your own journey.

Just give it time lil bruh
Will it be fixed if you just chop it off
What did you do in your earlier teenage years?
You've reached growth plateau , meaning your hair is breaking at the same rate its growing so it looks like it's not growing
@wiiaoio3865 r u joking?ain't no way.
May the Lord forbid that ever happening to me
