Anyone know if i might need to shampoo my hair at all? I bought a 2in1 shampoo + conditioner (sulfate free) and ive been using that 3 times a week during a shower (for 2 months now). Im 6 wondering if its even necessary since the guy in the video didnt mention anything like that in stage 0 & 1 (the stage im on).
I told mine she might be braiding my hair again and I’m in my 30s Her response “ILL BE DAMNED I’m not braiding a damn thing anymore!” 😂 might have to bribe her with boxed wine and classic movies
For everyone in that beginning stage I just encourage you guys to stick with it. PATIENCE IS KEY. And all this advice kozact is giving works. But just be patient and I promise you’ll thank yourself down the road
My problem is with detangling my hair. Cuz leaving it alone is definitely not an option and detangling once per week is also not enough cuz I gotta go to class and I can't be looking all crazy.
Guys drink at least 2-4L of water too! Drinking water helps keep the moisture in your hair for a longer time, but if you need to pee every 17 minutes, you should considering getting more potassium in your body. Foods and drinks for potassium includes potatoes, bananas, and orange juice! Otherwise, Kozact, everything you said is definitely well said!

the awkward phase is something everybody is going to go through. Imagine I got a taper fade just after I felt like I passed the awkward phase. I had to cut it down to a level 3 and it really pissed me off because i looked like a whole another person. and everybody i know tells me i suit longer hair more. this was two weeks ago and i just found waves as my solution thank god its actually going well

Like bro that’s what I’m trying to figure out, they keep saying comb it once a week then how do I prevent my hair from looking like a mess on the other days?? Do they just wake up and leave the house without doing nothing?
Man I pick my hair every morning and it hasn't stopped my hair from growing at all. The thing is just don't dry pick always wet your hair and don't pick from the roots pick from the ends on down and you'll be just fine.
Stop listening to these hair gurus get dreads and pick them out these niggas give false info at that rate it will literally take like 3 whole years of maintenance
Honestly I only use water through the years and I get it braided obviously use oil but when it’s out I just use water nothing bad happens to my Afro it’s just soft and fluffy 😁🙃
i’m somewhere between stage 2 and 3, hair’s kinda long but a lot of shrinkage as it’s 4C. i don’t know whether the lengths you corresponded to each stage are like pulling your hair straight (actual length) or just letting it be and basing it off how long it appears to be when all curled up. i’d say stage 2 though. some problems i run into though are even sleeping with a bonnet or silk pillowcase i’ll still wake up with my hair feeling dry no matter what products i have in it because when i sleep my hair gets flat and it just ends up being all matted together and stiff in the morning. that compounds the issue of trying to grow your hair whilst also maintaining a neat look, i then have to comb my hair out to make it look neat if i have to go somewhere, or even if i’m not going anywhere i feel like i should comb it out in the shower so it’s not all dry and matted together, i try pulling it out gently with my fingers before combing it but i feels dry. so basically my issues are, sleeping flattens my hair, hair still feels dry even with products and a bonnet, and i HAVE to comb my hair out often. can you or anyone in the comments who may have had similar issues especially when it comes to sleeping, tell me how y’all got over that hump. i feel like the definite best method is protective styles but i don’t do them often because that’s another thing i won’t get into right now because of the length of this comment.
I am in the same predicament, I have tried a lot of things leave-in or mist water before sleeping or sectioning my hair. None of the things work because of the shrinkage. I feel this a stage that a lot of people don't talk, I know we all have different hair but almost nobody talks about the morning dry shrinkage... At this point, in my case there are 2 things I can do, better nutrition and drink more water and protective styles. Like you protective styles is not something I can do all the time (for work and cultural reasons) but I really think this our only option because of our shrinkage we need to keep our hair straighten so it doesn't encumbers our progress and create breakage if anyone have any solution, I will gladly accept it.
I have grew my hair out multiples times this is normal. I’m in the same process too where I wake up and my hair is matted and it feels dry sometimes. Best thing to do is get a silk pillow case so it won’t take out all of your moisture in your hair. Also just spray your hair with water when it feels dry and matted when you wake up.
Guys also use gel if ur hair is big enough to be styled, use gel it helped me with my hair growth but not everyone’s hair will do the same. So use styling gel and just use it everyday until ur hair is too big for it like mine. 👍
How would I style my hair to make it look nice and round without picking it? I’m in between stage 2 and 3 btw. If I don’t pick it and just use my fingers it always looks rough and nasty asf lol.

Hey Kozact, how's it going ☺️, so what shampoo and conditioner you use before you apply the Alikay lemongrass leave in and the Alikay Shea Yogurt? Thanks for the video I'm trying to find some really good products for my hair, and for hair growth, I love the 2 strand twist styles and cornrows, what products do you use for your 2 strand twists and cornrows, what would you suggest?😊
i had a taper fade since im in the military but i let it grow out for about 4 months its at stage two and the sides arent as long as the top should i leave it for now or cut it all down to make it even cause the back and the sides are lower then the upper sides and top my goal is to have the full afro look with no fade at all i want the round full look what should i do ???
idk if i am the only one but my hair grows only upwards and not to the side and its extremely painful to see that. Am i doing something wrong or is it just my hair?
I can't help you with the texture part but find yourself a Barber who knows how to trim afros. I usually trip my hair every 3-months and it helps even it out
