I personally stay up to date with both bands. But no matter the group, we run all songs through a vetting process! To learn more about that process and see what songs we'll be reacting to in the future, check out the description of or pinned comment on any of our 2020 react videos :)
If it's possible I would love to see an interview with MZMC (producer of Love shot, Tempo, kokobop, 7th sense, Kang Daniels who you are and all CIX songs and hundreds more) im sure he would have a lot of insides from the industry since he lives in korea and did kpop for years. Very curious what he has to say when asked the right questions. It would be very interesting.
punch was definitely a magical baby, they took such good care of it and it resulted in a masterpiece. oh god i love punch way too much i'm so happy to hear how it came to be. punch is legendary i'm super excited to see who he works with next!!
I literally went back to watch 'Mmmh' after he explained the song in a whole new diff way like damn they really worked so hard to bring this Bop to us.. we should be grateful like verryyyy grateful. Nothing but respect 😭👏
when alawn says that it takes a couple of listens to really get used to, that's actually how it is with a lot of nct songs for me T_T but then, after that weird phase, i can't stop listening to it!! so addictive!! also, kind of like how it is with movies, series, books..., i prefer songs that make me want to listen to them again and again instead of a beat that gets stuck in my head after 4 seconds and annoys me for the rest of the week xD
HAHHA I love that Alawn and Kun are good friends and how they always comment on each others post and hype each other up but every time I see it I just see this meme about how Kun has an army of male producer simps commenting every time he posts lmao Also aww I love hearing people comment on Kun's producing 🥺 Thank you for that
Man ... I noticed that after watching these interviews i have a much deeper appreciation when listening to the songs featured because you know how much work the producers put into. Another great video umu!!!
Kudos to Alawn for participating in producing Punch and to NCT 127 for being able to pull it off. I think the song itself is so magical to listen to given how complex it is. Punch is a gem and we all don’t deserve it.
Am I the only one who had no problem remembering 'Punch'? Anyways, among my very favorite songs. I agree, that pre-chorus & Bridge are magical (as often with SM), but in Punch, every section feels unique and interesting, which really elevates this one above most "solid SM songs", imho. It's so interesting to hear that the chords in the chorus were added later, amazing. Can't wait for more Alawn!!! ...And also more ReacttotheK interviews! EEEY (we ballin)!
18:38 After Midnight was made three years ago woahh. And the fact that it's one of the best b-sides from Awaken the World album and is my on repeat since the beggining. Indeed genius
Over 250 tracks layered in "Punch" holy shit!!!!!!! I love that even he doesn't know why we can't remember it! 😂😂 This was such an elucidating interview!
My favorite part of the channel are these interviews! I love to know more about the production and the composer it makes me appreciate the song even more. He seems so much passionate about his work and looks like a really cool person.
This was so fun and interesting! Thank you! I just love your interviews so much! Especially because it's so revealing as to the process behind this phenomenon of KPOP!
Punch is really something else. One of the most unique I've ever heard especially the whispering and the shift in the supposed chorus on the end of the song. NCT 127's style and individualism really made it more catching
PUNCH is like, my ultimate favorite song. I heard its instrumental in youtube and I became hooked as how it sounded so diffrently good... i dont know but that kind of music really takes me to space.
The opening to Punch reminded me of Tron Legacy for some reason, it sounds so futuristic unique, i was transported to another dimension with that and its truly amazing! Thank you Alawn for doing what you do best!
i sincerely thank you so much for discussing Punch because its actually my favorite title track from the whole NCT. i love how catchy the song is, how every section contains plot twists, their vocals are so good it makes the whole song beyond my expectations. and the instrumental is so good i cant- the song is pure magic. its weird but in a very good way. its addicting for me. moreover, its so NCT. thank you for the masterpiece.
Also UMU this interview was so good! It flowed really well, and the editing was Top Tier Honestly I think is the best interview with a kpop writer that you’ve ever done
Behind song producing explanation like this makes me appreciate the songs more. Thanks Umu for your work. I become a kpop mulfan during quarantine because of your channel! To the extend of buying my fav albums 😂
I just want to say thank you so much for reacttothek to have a segment like this where we can see the production behind the song😭 truly the best channel❤
I am so glad i found this one specific video giving shout out to After Midnight sung by WayV. This one special song really help me sleep at night. Its really calming me down, thank you so much.❤️
Thank you so much for this interview! it was super interesting as much as entertaining! This channel should go on forever, it's one of the best in all RUclips!!!
WayV After Midnight is of the best song in the WayV album. The song really suits for BGM for drive and journey. I hope Alawn will collab for tittle track of WayV
As a person who’s into learning music I love this channel and these interviews! I also remember one with Adrian Mckinnon. They inspire n teach me a lot I always go listen to the song again after their explanation
It’s so cool SM had a producing camp. That’s so new I never heard & a great opportunity for smaller producers to work with them & grow in their craft. Love your questions that you ask. I like that companies in Kpop are having small artist with amazing talent.
I love these interviews Umu, it's really interesting! Thankyouuuuu. These people are genius :D It would also be interesting to get an interview with Willie Weeks! He made music for Cravity, Monsta X, BTS, NCT etc. If you don't know him yet, pls look him up!!
@@luvyu2985 to quote from their Google doc, "If we aren't reacting to a song, it's either because not enough harmonically/melodically/texturally/rhythmically interesting things are happening in the song or we have heard songs do something similar before and therefore if we reacted to it, our comments would be repetitive, turn out pretty boring & be mostly centered around the visuals of the MV. As time passes, the musicians’ listening and understanding of music has developed. As they’ve heard more and more K-Pop songs, their tastes, opinions and expectations have changed. So we do our best to select songs that will cause the most interesting reactions from them.". But Ride or Die is currently in their list waiting to be voted on - so I actually have my fingers crossed that their voting panel passes that through~

I wonder how you schedule meet up with them and like how to become part of the ReacttotheK team..
Mmmh is one of the most addicting songs that ever existed. It was great to hear how the song came to life
Every time talented producers compliment Kun it adds 5 years to my lifespan

Thank you for giving Kai such a great song.

Yeah it’s included in her second playlist w songs they won’t be reacting to! :)
