Looks like the fridge would be harder to open once you get sheets and comforter on the bed. It's already barely skimming the bare mattress. Other than that, a nice little camper.
Yeah, I would take out that table and put a domestic ice chest in and use that for daily things and put things not used as much in that cube frige. As soon as you get your bedding on the bed- there will be no opening that door! 🤪
Man you are getting great at these reviews. I’d rather hear a review from someone who works on the rigs than a salesman. Keep up the great work. Cheers!!!
I like the idea of that model for a small portable "home office" my wife could use. Parking that baby in my back driveway and presto, home office with built in bathroom and kitchen!
Thanks for the tour, Brad. I think this unit would be good for one person, but for two, let's just say you'll *really* have to like them a lot, huh? As always, I appreciate the tour and the straight forward approach to the campers.
Thanks for taking the time for doing a REAL detailed tour. Many of us are new to this and at least you are being fair as setting the expectations (cranking a broken jack sucks, it may be a little bit of a pain getting that propane tank in and out, gotta find space for the table top, etc). Recently found out that the Ford F-150, when properly equipped (Heavy Duty Payload Package), has a cargo bed capacity of 3,200 + lbs for either the 5.0 V8 or the 3.5 Ecoboost. Good to know that you don't automatically need a 3/4 ton for this and most of the other 800 series. The 850 would be a nice combo in the 8 footer bed F-150 (The Truck Camper Compatibility Guide does not make a distinction for the extra 1,000 lbs or so that the F-150 can carry back there).
I have had zero interest in bed campers prior to about four days ago when I randomly stumbled upon your channel. You're the epitome of a fine young man. I don't even have a pick up, but now I'm planning my next purchase of a bed camper.
Brad Fish n Fun Absolutely Brad... just keep doing what you’re doing, everyone’s digging it. Look forward to your 8’ light weight review when back from vacation.
Love your Lance Truck Camper videos. We have a 2020 Lance 650 on our Chevy Silverado 1500 with added air bags and larger tires. It handles well & rides great. We love it!
May I ask what year and is it an extended cab 4x4? My 2013 ext cab 4x4 has a sticker in the glovebox that says not to use a slide in camper on the truck.
It is a 2015 4WD Crew Cab 5.3L V8. There is a sticker in our glovebox as well that says not to use a slide in camper on the truck. But we went by the dealerships advise with putting airbags on and the larger tires. Also we have taken the truck with the camper on into the dealership where we purchased the truck new for an oil change and they never said anything about not using the camper on the truck. In fact they were pretty impressed with the set up.
Video Recommendation - Not sure if you have made a video about this before, but it would be cool to have a video on mounting options for the truck campers. I have seen the new Scout campers with a ratchet setup that connects with your existing truck tie down points. Some professional opinions and options about that would be cool. Thanks!
Now this is perfect! Not too big not too small with everything you need.. Great for that weekend hunting or fishing trip. Even just to camp out. Light enough to go pretty deep off road to get far enough away to have peace and solitude. Will definitely look into getting one of these come spring!! Just in time for my 48th birthday March 21st 😎😁
wow this is really cool. when I was a kid my dad kitted out one of these and he shipped it over to Europe with the military. Me and him and my mum traveled everywhere in that thing and it was plenty big. they really thought of everything here.
Nice Camper only a few things I would change. Being from Iowa I would skip the AC and both awnings. I wish they offered it with out the bath room. Instead of bathroom cut size of that area to 2/3 and put a closet on top and a place for a honey bucket. In a camp ground just use the public restroom and the honey bucket at night so you don't have to walk to it in the middle of the night. Yes I did this for 10 year with my last truck camper. This also save you from having a black water tans. It needs space under the step to the bed for a cooler, with my truck camper I could put a 48qt cooler out of the way there. Lance has made a Great camper there but these suggestions would save weight. Just FYI in the next couple years I will be buying another truck camper and this will be on the list to look at. I never needed a large camper but I have needed a dam great lawn chair as we only sleep in it and have breakfast in it all other meals outside and grilling. TC
Very nice, but even this "light" camper would overload my 2006 F150 equipped with the heavy 2,585 lbs payload option. Adding a few things up, 27gal of gas=171 lbs, two people = 375lbs, luggages = 100lbs, those few things add up to 646lbs! Subtracting this from my truck 2,585 lbs load rating leave just 1,939 lbs for a camper.... And a few things I didn't account for are the weight of a few tools, spare tire, jack, etc.... Stuff sure adds up fast making it easy to exceed the load rating of a F150 truck.
Mine carried it great, so do my customers! Built Ford Tough, right? Lol Side note mine was a 2008 they used to haul the 650 around, but I believe the body style was the same as your ‘06
1st time watching your reviews. I don't know who you work for, but if they were smart they would give you a raise. You are what we east coast folk refer to as "real".
Another great video! Hey Brad - do you know if we can get a "moon roof" or "window above the bed" to look at the stars (similar to the 850)? Thanks in advance for your help :)
I’ve seen quite a few tours of this camper. No one shows how to attach it to the bed. Chains? Ratcheting straps? Where does the 7 pin attach to the camper. Thanks for the info Brad.
Can you give an idea of price? We had several 5th wheels, then a park model in the same place for 12 years. Getting the itch to move around again and see some new things. 8) --gary
I am looking at the new F150 powerboost that has 2120-pound maximum payload, which is right on the edge of this camper (wet). Counting myself and my partner plus some essential gears, we are looking at an additional 500lbs. Would 2600lbs be too much for the F150 axles? Hope to get some professional opinions. I probably will live in this camper as my mobile office and do a lot of driving. Off-roading is not the primary concern. thanks folks.
Short answer yes. It's simple math, you answered it in your own comment. I have a Tundra. F150 all similar, they're half ton trucks with similar payload capacities. The fit is great and with some air bags, rides fine, but legally here in Canada and I assume the US, if you're over your GVRW it could be game over if you get into an accident or pulled into the weigh station. DOT will definitely investigate to see if you're over weight and when you are you don't have much ground to stand on. It's unlikely but should be considered. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but thats coming for experienced CVSE officers. Such a nice option though for half ton trucks. Dealers are not responsible for what you purchase and put on your truck either, keep that in mind. They'll usually give you the lowest numbers to make you feel like it is close, but reality is like you said, dogs, people, bags, tools etc etc your payload will get up to 2600 - 3000 pounds quick and you'll be well over your legal GWVR. I still want this camper. Seems very well built and the cadillac of campers.
2022 Lance 650 pricing starts at $43,534 usd I don’t know of any dealers in that area, but you’re more then welcome to give us a visit here in Chattanooga, TN 🙂
Brad , I have talked with you .... what can you fix me up with , I have a 3/4 ton heavy duty 2009 dodge quad cab 8' bed Cummins diesel.... ? I like dry bath, that's a must... I live in texas.... I am planning on living in the camper.... thx....
With this being out for a couple years now. Whats your opinion with customers who own a 2020+ Nissan Titan purchasing one of these? Bag/Sway install? Suspension upgrade? Titans GAWR is over 4000lbs. Just curious what have you seen from the Titan Owners? Thx
Awesome review, nice and detailed. Been wanting a tow camper bc the wife isn’t into “roughing it” 😂. I like this tho and may go with a truck camper instead
I was wondering. I am looking for a camper that fits a short bed. 5 feet 9 inches. I have a 2017 silverado midnight edition, short box. I'm having trouble finding any campers. Do you guys have my size? Maybe even tell me where I can find one?
Looks like the fridge would be harder to open once you get sheets and comforter on the bed. It's already barely skimming the bare mattress. Other than that, a nice little camper.
Good point!
I enjoy your vids, thanks much. Subbed.
Could be worse. The fridge could be directly over the toilet, like in the Cirrus 620.
Actually not a big deal. We've got one and don't have an issue with that.
Cheers!!!
Love how calls it the way he sees it.
I like the idea of that model for a small portable "home office" my wife could use. Parking that baby in my back driveway and presto, home office with built in bathroom and kitchen!
Now that’s an idea right there! Brilliant
Yes!! Ive been thinking about this. Why pay $$$ for a home renovation or shed in the back when you can get a trailer AND travel occasionally.
I wish Lance made campers with cassette style toilets, drop the black tank and had higher fresh waster capacity.
This is an excellent rig considering the small size, and a great use of space. Good overview; well done.
Thank you Barny15! Plenty more reviews to come!
Thanks for the tour, Brad. I think this unit would be good for one person, but for two, let's just say you'll *really* have to like them a lot, huh? As always, I appreciate the tour and the straight forward approach to the campers.
Thanks man, and yes, better like them 😂
Dude, you have over 6300 subscribers! Start saying let's get to 7000 subscribers. You're doing a great job!
Pre recorded this one for vacation this past week, when I recorded I wasn’t expecting to gain 2k in a week 🤣
Y’all are awesome!
Great unit, great tour. But the most impressive thing was the fat dip you had rolling without spitting for over twelve minutes. Kudos to you sir.
Not bad, right? Lol
Love to listen to your narrative of these campers. You make it fun. Thank you and keep it up.
Thank you John McFee!
Yes! Agreed!!!!
Thanks for taking the time for doing a REAL detailed tour. Many of us are new to this and at least you are being fair as setting the expectations (cranking a broken jack sucks, it may be a little bit of a pain getting that propane tank in and out, gotta find space for the table top, etc).

Nice username btw 🤣
But if you buy a Ford you will need that 1000 pounds for all the tools to constantly repair it.
I am always amazed how much is inside a truck camper. From the outside... who would know.
I could listen to him talk for hours!!
top raymon lol
I have had zero interest in bed campers prior to about four days ago when I randomly stumbled upon your channel. You're the epitome of a fine young man.
I don't even have a pick up, but now I'm planning my next purchase of a bed camper.

Brad is a refreshing voice in the RV industry... no bs, no up-sell, tell it like it is demeanor. So many could learn from this.
Thanks for the kind words fellas 👍🏼

Absolutely Brad... just keep doing what you’re doing, everyone’s digging it. Look forward to your 8’ light weight review when back from vacation.
The outdoor electrical is perfect for a tabletop ice-maker, a must-have RV accessory! 🧊🧊🧊
This guy gives a way better description than most. "Piss-pouring rain" I understood that.
You could easily put a toaster oven into that storage next to the microwave. I use my toaster oven for everything at the house, from pie to pizza.
Love your Lance Truck Camper videos. We have a 2020 Lance 650 on our Chevy Silverado 1500 with added air bags and larger tires. It handles well & rides great. We love it!

Yeah we all human we do make mistakes and your good on these tours of these campers. Thanks for sharing.
His honesty is the best... fridge next to the bed ..i wouldnt have to move with my beer in there...lol.
🍻
One of the best small rig I have ever seen
all i need is this camper , money , some land and free time , awesome , thanks
3:40 best advice I’ve heard all year 😂👍🏼
150 / 1500 series trucks OK I will keep it in mind. Great video. Info.
The only problem with a tankless water heater is that you can waste a lot of water before it finally heats up.
Big point is water pump access in bathroom. Some of these campers are very hard access to maintain.
Video Recommendation - Not sure if you have made a video about this before, but it would be cool to have a video on mounting options for the truck campers. You crack me up. In a good way. So casual. I like that 😎
Excellent review, this guys personality had me crackling “we’ll put some cokes and juice boxes in there” 🤣
Gotta have the juice boxes man 😁

AND standing head room?
1st time watching your reviews. I don't know who you work for, but if they were smart they would give you a raise. You are what we east coast folk refer to as "real".
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting them.
With this being so small I wish they would use sunk in sink and stove top to give some counter space
Comes with a sink cover, but I know what you mean
Agreed
Except for the location of the refrigerator it's a nice camper.
Another great video! Hey Brad - do you know if we can get a "moon roof" or "window above the bed" to look at the stars (similar to the 850)? Thanks in advance for your help :)
Honesty is the best policy
This dude is awesome, he had a dip in the whole time, lol. Very forthright with the information; a fridge in bed is not a bad idea.
Need to adjust the drawer, brand new unit, the joys of RV
that is really cool for it size the bathroom is a plus
I wonder if this would fit the new Ford Maverick.
Hi Brad. I was wondering if you can help me get the word out for this new design expandable vehicle. Thanks . If not-good luck .
I’ve seen quite a few tours of this camper. No one shows how to attach it to the bed. Chains? Ratcheting straps? Where does the 7 pin attach to the camper. Thanks for the info Brad.
Torklift Mounts & Fastguns secure the camper to the truck, Lance has their own wiring harness that we install for you
How do you attach it to the pickup and how much is that set up? It would be interesting to see u put one on a pickup and take it off
great presentation from korea. one day i wish buy it from you.!!
You’ll be finding them cheap on Craigslist in a couple of years...
this is a great vid. what is the price point
Can you give an idea of price? We had several 5th wheels, then a park model in the same place for 12 years. Getting the itch to move around again and see some new things. 8) --gary
Where do you attach the truck camper to the truck ? Can you bolt
It from the inside or ugly
Looking wing batts outside?
I wonder if you could get a single bed put in so you have more room.
I’ve had customers swap the mattresses out in the past, so definitely possible
awesome video. thank you for making this. don't think this model is for me. i think some people might ask if that fridge is a 3 way.
The camper is awesome for the size, the kid showin it....Adorable. Subscribing and hitting the bell....!
Much appreciated 👍🏼
Please show your larger campers. In then truck bed.
Very hot and humid? Hah! Ask Matt's RV Reviews about hot and humid. Lol Keep putting great content out.

Some beer and some top Ramon and yer livin’ large!
No lies detected
LOL. Enjoyed the tour. I agree great narrative
Thank you Beverly!
It seems to me that this is still on the heavy side for a half-ton truck.
One thing I hate about the setup on some truck campers is the sofa/bed. It would be much better to have a small dinette. It would give more room.
It has everything considering its very small. It has everything that what count. The guy did ok.
Yeah, just okay
Is there no way you can State some prices? If not I do understand excellent presentation my man.
I can say MSRP, but nobody likes that price 🤣
2021 go for $32,000-35,000.
Always always start in the interior because if we dont like the interior the exterior means nothing
Skip to interior 👍🏼
Fridge in the bed area? Never no when you might want to knock back a couple of cold ones mid sleep?
😎
This would be the one for me. Great review. 👍
Good choice!

Hey Brian, 975 is the smallest dry bath model currently produced by Lance, but requires a one ton due to weight
I really love your videos. All that I have seen so far. Love from India
Adding a skylight over the bed and solar a possibility?
Already has it 😁
What was the black rectangle thing, under the kitchen sink?

I could totally live there, and bring it everywhere
Great overview Brad, many thanks. Any chance you can set up an export of these to UK?
Awesome review, nice and detailed. Been wanting a tow camper bc the wife isn’t into “roughing it” 😂. I like this tho and may go with a truck camper instead
Good video sir. Will this camper fit on a 2018 Ram 2500 short bed truck??
I like this 650. Man! You gonna make me upgrade from my Tacoma to an F-150. Oh well.
@The94GTC yep. i don't understand the dishonesty (not brad, the company).
Very nice little camper.
Like the narration, kid may be too honest to be a salesman.
I love this look so cute. So what I need for my truck.
I like his honesty
I was wondering. I am looking for a camper that fits a short bed. 5 feet 9 inches. I have a 2017 silverado midnight edition, short box. I'm having trouble finding any campers. Do you guys have my size? Maybe even tell me where I can find one?
I just wish the manufactures took more pride in making these things. There are too many nightmares about there about campers and their manufactures.
So the 6.5 and slide out is off.!
Do they make one for midsize trucks, like rangers tacomas etc?
Not yet, hopefully soon!
I have a Chevrolet Colorado crew cab truck, year 2021. Is it possible to attach this Camper 650?
Can I Oder a new camper without the fridge and stove
So this may sound stupid but can you just leave it in the bed of your truck and camp/ live in it?
Absolutely, capable for on and off the truck use!
Did you say Raymon instead of ramen?
Price, and will it fit a 5.5 bed?
Did you get the price
Lance campers.com listed prices from $35,000. - $63,000.!
Chef Souffle sure will!
Price on a 650 starts around $25k and goes up with options added
@@cathietonkin5577 but no property tax every year on truck campers
@@robertbarber7343 Depends which state you live in. Washington State you must registered the truck and camper separately every year ($$$).
Do y’all make one that would fit a standard cab Toyota Tacoma?
This can be used to ford maverick 2022?Thanks
Does this fit:2013 CrewCab Nissan Titan? If not, what does?
Yo Brad that's a very informative video. I just happened upon this video. Keep it up
Thank you for your support! More videos coming soon!
Brad, way cool presentation. What would you suggest for a Nissan XD Crewcab Diesel? I pull a Seaark Procat 24ft catfish boat.
Lance 650, max I would suggest an 825. Thank you!
Hi Brad, Great job. Will it work in a Chevy Colorado Crew Cab, Short Box ?
Unfortunately Lance has not designed a Truck Camper for the midsize truck market yet 😕
I’d love one for my Tacoma!
Just a heads up - you get the camera too close to the specs sheets so the picture is too blurry to see the document.
Yup fridge placement sucks Wet #2186 is not 1/2 ton weight either. But you make good video's
Love everything but the location of the fridge
