I fixed just fixed a 402n that had the same problem. However the little black pads were sticking that the interior guide bumps up against. The guide would move too late and cause it to jam. Tried cleaning the little pad but that made it worse. Then I put just a little bit of 3in1 oil on my finger tip and rubbed that into the pad. Printer stopped jamming. The rear door guide and the top back turnaround guide have pads on both sides. So oiled all 4 pads.

Hi, I have an HP laserjet pro M 402 dne printer. the display indicates Open the front drawer and clear the jams / jamming in the cartridge area.I checked and everything seems fine, it is possible that this error is due to the toner cartridge ? Thank you
My printer had the same problem, but it already had a paper guide! Trouble not come from paper guide!
