THERES A NEW ALBUM!???
@@syl6k666 Yes ahahah, it's gonna be out on february
@@syl6k666 And I'm pretty confident he's been working with Francesco Ferrini (Fleshgod Apocalypse) for the orchestral parts
@@enricopiopentrella4376 I had no idea.. Thanks for the heads up 🤘🏻
This would make an excellent movie soundtrack.
who else was expecting The Predator to pop out? this could easily be featured on that film's soundtrack
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! This new pair of releases are going to be well worth the wait.
Oh my - I love Ihsahn's work overall Emperor 1993 onwards) but I feel the Orchestral version of this album will be the most jammed - gorgeous! Hail Maestro!😍
Masterpiece of Art
Stunning.
I was really hoping to hear something like this after hearing the beginning of the music video, I love it.
I am curious as to why these were hash tagged on the video description. #Emperor #Leprous #DevinTownsend #Opeth #StevenWilson #PorcupineTree Is it to expand reach? So if someone likes those bands this might come up as a suggestion?
Yes
amazing
Can we get a lot more of this, please? Fucking win.
Dope as Hell.
Anyone else see the running deer parts and think Watership Down?
This instrumental is so good!
Dude went ahead and learned how to properly notate so he could get this made right.
I'm so sorry to burst your bubble, while it sounds amazing, this is very much a sampled orchestra (aka fake orchestra.) It was masterfully composed and orchestrated and if a real orchestra got their hands on this they would have a blast playing it! But you can tell it's fake, little things give it away like the brass and woodwinds having a "woofy" almost plastic sound not quite bitting as a real instruments would, also the strings' fingered legato passages are 'washy' in exactly the way a sampled string section washes out the notes (if it were live the notes would be more pronounced- despite doing the same articulation.) It's arranged very well, Ihsahn knows what he's doing - no poor blocky keyboard orchestration that too many bands these days impliment - and it's Ihsahn's expertise with the orchestra that helps it sound more life like, despite it's computerized instruments.
Again this is a gorgeous stuff, it's masterfully written and I hope one day we'll get to hear this record with live orchestra, but for now sampled orchestra it is! (Most metal bands use sample orchestra as orchestras are too expensive for metal album budgets sadly/ Even the great Fleshgod Apocalypse: all sampled orchestra!)
@@6ixpoint5ive yes, I do see that there was a certain amount of sampling done. He didn't record a whole orchestra. He did, however, learn to write the music out in a way that he would have been able to give it to an orchestra, and there are a lot of live instruments layered on top of the sampled orchestra. Adjusted my comment to reflect that.
@@alphaenemyplus8376 This is me being curious, does the booklet or liner-notes detail who the live orchestral musicians are? If it does not, then unfortunately we have only our ears to help us know whats real vs fake, and as a someone who does for a living I can confidently say that based on what I'm hearing there are no live instruments present (though I am happy to be proven wrong!). Yes, he did learn to write for this kind of music, but these days you can do that on a DAW with piano roll, you don't necessarily have to do it on traditional sheet music -- though some people do, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did as the arrangements feel more sheet music composed then transferred to DAW, rather than purely DAW composed. Regardless, I'd imagine Ihsahn has known how to write this style for many decades, considering how good his other works are in how he used orchestral element similar to this.
Again I do not mean to push back, it's just as someone who does this for a living, you get to know the ins and outs of this process. This record is exceptional and I'd argue a lot of it is bc of his skills at making a sampled orchestra emote like a real orchestra does. Not many metal musicians can pull off this style as well as he did with the limited resources of samples, so I do not wish to take anyway away from him by my comment-- I merely want to point out that midi orchestra is often done differently than live orchestra and requires a similar, though different, set of skills. Ihsan pulled it off with this record and if I were him, I'd be very proud of the work! :)
@@6ixpoint5ive indeed, the violinist is Chris Baum, according to the liner notes
@@alphaenemyplus8376 excellent to know, thanks!
King shit as always
Unbelievable
