Stalin did was was necessary for his time. I doubt any other leader could have handled the problems his country faced during WWII any better. A country being devastated, with poor equipment and completely taken by surprise by the German onslaught. Against all odds and German tactical failure, the Soviets defeated their invaders. Many died, but they saved Europe from facism.

Well, there are some tunes that national anthems are written from that are also church hymns. Germany's anthem comes to mind, since it's also the same tune as "Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken." Also, "O, Canada" was used for a church hymn, too, iirc. So there are anthem tunes that work as church tunes.

They were against the true notions of Communism. Communism is supposed to be international, but Stalin wanted communism in one country. Stalin was opposed to the spread of communism, and simply wanted russia to be the bright red beacon. The anthem of the Soviet Union NEVER should have been changed from the Internationale.

those aren't church bells,that is the electric carillon in the main gate to the Kremlin(after the picture of Christ was taken-out.)...not all bells are church bells
