2:05 theres mistake: soviets had territory in Xinjiang since 1934. It was in the north of Xinjang and it bordered afghanistan. Rest of Xinjiang was chinese. Rebellion was next to Afghani border, and chinese helped Uyghurs in uprising, and xinjang attacked china and got back chinese part of Xinjiang

Both were factors and it's silly to claim sole responsibility for either side, the Soviets couldn't possibly percieve an invasion of Japan's home islands without the Imperial Navy's destruction at the hands of the Western Allies (primarily the Americans), it was a combined effort for sure. This just seems like revisionism because Russian bias. 20 years ago it was "America single handedly saved the World during WW2" now it's the same with with the Russians because the Russian government is incessantly pushing that narrative in it's propaganda war against the West. Convieniently disregarding the fact that half of Europe essentially replaced German occupiers with Soviet ones and attempts at freedom were brutally supressed for half a goddamn century.

As i'm guessing, the casualties said is not just deaths, but also wounded for example, but the wounded during a war could come back to the war after they were healed, so the usage of the count of wounded as casualties i think is weird and misleading, the deaths in Afghan or Winter wars, for example, never exceeded 100 000 men. P.S.: I have double checked, the losses of the Soviet army during a Winter war were about -/+120 000 men.
Is the map actually that detailed? When you show small thin lines (presumably a seized road or railway), is it actually mapped to that fine of detail or is it for demonstration purposes?
