- I have had a LOT of requests come in for me to look at the "budget friendly" RGT models on Amazon ($99 get one here: amzn.to/3pwM7tr) I heard that the "Team Associated Enduro24 Sendero Trail Truck RTR" ($150) was simply a rebranded RGT. This was the true reason I wanted to look at this model. When I put them side by side.. I cant tell the difference - Here is my original unboxing video of the Enduro24 - for your comparison: • TiNY TRUCK COLLECTION!... ) Seems like the Associated is identical, with a different body (in my opinion), and is charging an additional $50 USD, on average - compared to the RGT.
The 1 cell Lipo is the real let-down for me here. Also, the front steering horn issue.. that causes the front suspension to be extremely limited - is just a silly design. The alternative for m, would be to send people to an AXiAL SCX24 model.. that comes with a 2s lipo, and in my opinion - a much better design, and choice. Parts support is also easily available. Thanks for bringing in the RGT! I was one of the ones on the fence with this one. I just got the Element for XMas so good to know they're basically the same truck. And I totally agree...very underwhelming out of the box. I also have a SCX24 (C10) and there is no comparison. I'll be looking to upgrade my Element and maybe adding the RTG to the arsenal. Back when the SCX24 C10 Chevy was on PreOrder was when I caught the bug to get into Mini Crawlers.
I had my SCX24 on order but didn’t feel like waiting.
I remembered TomleyRC had reviewed this little RST Defender and decided to order one of those because no wait.
I discovered quickly that a LOT of the Hobby Plus CR24 & CR18 components were compatible via BullGear Rc so I also ordered some goodies from banggood and amain.
I’ve got my Defender jacked up on CR-18/24 Aluminum Shocks and CR18
Tires for an almost monster truck effect.
I wrapped each plastic hub with solder and then weight balanced them before putting on the tires.
I also used some fishing weight in the front to give it a slightly forward bias.
I have the front stiffer than the rear so now it can balance on its front wheels going downhill without rolling end over end and it tracks uphill perfectly. Also does great on a side angle.
Lastly but extremely important is you have to chop the body to allow for the massive tires (if you go that route)
I spent VERY LITTLE on this Red Rig and it’s been a blast to play with.
If you want some variety in your garage don’t sleep on this little titan.
Also, the CR24 is a nice low cost platform.
It just needs a pan hard bar to eliminate body twist.
I made my own! Works great!

I love it, that was awesome ! Betty and the C10 is going to be my favorite , yes I pulled the trigger got the B17 Betty on the way. Just had to have Betty. The defender is looking awesome.
Excited to see what you will do to improve this RGT model. Especially that front suspension since I have one too. I agree that it is a great value though and your mods and courses always inspire.

Nice!! I got this RGT v2 crawler a few weeks ago. Love it. If you put spacers under the steering servo in the front you will get alot more suspension travel. I removed the spare tire from the back and put it on the front bumper. I also removed the roll cage to remove some weight up top. The cage looks awesome, but just the cage and screws weigh as much as the whole body does. Now it crawls WAY better.

I did some tinkering to my scx24 today.Totally changed it for free! Took and glued some solder around the inside of the rims to add weight and put some grease in the shocks. It really is a whole new rc now!

I didn't get anything for christmas. I went a bought a new screwdriver set for myself on boxing day.
I hate how some so called experts (people who need a well known brand name or need to spend $600+ on a run of the mill RC) have to run companies like RGT and HSP down as being crap. I look at them as amazing beginner platforms. their is so much room for customization and parts are so easy to find and relatively cheap. I have an RGT Rock Hammer (its my Ragin' Cajun custom rig) and it performs amazing, all I have changed is the gears in the diffs and the center of the truck (because they were plastic) the electronics and the wheels & tires. everything else thats not cosmetic is still stock. I used it to show people that for the same price as or less than a big brand RC crawler you can build a custom one of a kind capable crawler. Thank you for bringing a smaller company into the lime light.

For you hard body fans, I was looking for some parts in my storage area and found I still had some 1/24 plastic static display model Mopar kits and thought how great these would look on my 1/24 scale truck chassis. This RGT model looks to be a good candidate as well. I will post videos soon.
Nice review, I looked at that one pretty hard before I bought my C10. Glad I went with the Axial but that body is really nice.

Awesome video thanks RC Sparks. I got two hobby plus cr-24s for Christmas. Its based on the same platform just mid engine and a single gearbox.
Loving the indoor 1/24 vids! Got the kids (me too) an SCX24 based off them alone.
Have been trying to figure the LiPo batteries out to try and get some with more mAh than stock - so this vid helped! I'm an older RC'er with Tamiya kits who was amazed when NiMH came out, then lost touch with the hobby. Trying to see if my kids will get into it with me and these have helped.

I've had my RGT Adventurer(red truck) longer than I've had my 3 SCX24's. It's stock parts have outlasted the Axials. I put rok loks tires with front wheel weights on & it's quite capable. Love your channel bro.

This is what I told you about the Unboxing of the Enduro24, it is exactly the same as the RGT, moreover the Enduro24 is much more expensive when they just put their bodywork on a rgt, I thinks it is abuse, they could have made their own rc, it makes me think especially that they wanted to make money, no more, very disappointed with this brand. On the other hand the rgt is really nice and cheap, on mine I put the Super Swamper Tsl Bogger 1.0 tires from RC4WD (The center of gravity is a little higher but it doesn't bother) and I put a scx24 lipo that really changes everything.
The esc of the rgt supports the lipo battery of the scx24 well.
And as you said you just have to buy the Enduro24 bodywork and the rgt, it is much cheaper 😄 Excellent test run especially the passage in the mud 😁

Hey Medic! I'm not a fan of the defender type body but this looks nice! It looks like buy the cheaper one and pickup different electronics guts and have a great truck! That little red beauty went pretty good on that course setup! Thanks for the total comparison of them and great videos! Can't wait to see it modified and out on the course against the guys!😉😎👍

It's a great looking truck and let's face it. For an entry level truck for a beginner what more do you want. It's a cheep truck that will get you out. Plus there's plenty of room to lean and do lots of upgrades. Ya gotta start somewhere!
I'm loving all these tiny tiny truck videos and really appreciate your work, but I gotta say that I've been sitting here wondering when am I going to see a WPL truck? Those are the ones that got my attention just because they can be super cheap. As low as $40 for an all plastic one, but I'd suggest giving the C44KM a shot. They are 1/16 but they're hardbodies with tons of upgrades and customer support is above and beyond.
I'm sorry (so not sorry) but I just couldn't sit back anymore wondering why I haven't seen a single WPL product. Give em a shot and you shan't be disappointed. Keep up the great work brother 👍🏿

I don't know if you have already looked or seen theme yet. From Horizon they have a 1:18 scale temper gen 2 crawler that I think is cool. Like any rc it has its advantages and disadvantage but I think it would be a good crawler for your in door course as well your outside course its all water proof. Just an idea for you I like how the Defender looks the roll cage is awesome will help the body for sure.
if we look back RGT is one of the first 1:24 in this platform and i think there is another one but we had the RGT like Four yrs ago? and i feel like there was one before that but then this platform was passed around. ECX came out with one then you saw proline now its blowing up... maybe im just guessing but thats how i saw it... Nice work🦅👍
i only bought one non scx 1/24th scale and it was the hbx devastator, which is pretty cool but i gave that one to my nephew for christmas and bought myself a betty at the hobby shop because luckily she had some, got number 2278 so not too high a number but not 0004 like you got lol, love the vids bro

So do you buy quality and run stock electronics or do you have a go to upgrade as far as the esc. I've two mini rigs and one is great but the other sucks even though it has a larger motor and is geared real close to the same. Running 7.4 volt. Thanks man!
Wow...Caught with my mouth open at the price difference and yes I agree basically same unit (haha,unit). Really like the body too. Be a nice base/frame to build a custom rig with.

I got the same truck put a small spacer under the servo in the front and it gets more travel in the front and trim the fenders for more flex and ditch the cage and it don’t roll so easy

The Enduro comes with the long pegs that are already installed on the RGT! I opened my Enduro last week and was confused they included the long pegs with no clear instructions on why.
I still have my rgt 1 24 from 2 years ago and still runs Strong
