  • Nick unloads and walks you through his purchase of a Westendorf Brush Crusher. It's going to be run on his John Deere 2520. A big selling point of this grapple is that it is fully mechanical and doesn't require an additional set of hydraulics to operate it.

      If it's John Deere hooking pen you should send that shim kit along with your equipment .

      @@go4usc21 dont do it it will not hold up. You will bend it for sure. Use your forks instead much stronger but not recommended also. The brush crusher is great for brush clean up and moving logs. But not made to engage large roots

    Stoked to see how it goes. I wondered about a brush crusher just wondered how they do compared to the grapples.

      A brush crusher is a grapple.

      my neighbor with a skid steer and grapple, he tried talking me out of getting the brush crusher, he is amazed when I can pick up anything he can pick up other then he can lift more weight.
      I adjusted the bottom to open more, I can almost drop straight down now.
      if it jam's I leave it closed holding the branches and push against the pile I'm dumping in and open it, never jams then

    Lots of peoples tractors are being damaged by this it's pulling the snap ring pins thru the hole and jd is charging up to 1500 to fix it

    I am torn between the Brush Crusher and a true hydraulic grapple. I have a Deere 3025e and won’t be using it daily but do like the idea of not having to add a divertor

    you aren’t worried about the bottom jaw banging off your loader arms?

  • @tangoseal1
    @tangoseal1 Год назад

    I understand budgetary concerns but these things are compromises and I would never run one ever. I would rather just save a little longer and get a true 3rd function. I have seen videos of these things destroying loader assemblies. Your mileage may vary.

    Over $3000? You can get a real grapple for just over 1000 bucks. But then yeah you got to install the third function.

    Any issues with the pins getting bent?

  • @Dan-oz4qb
    @Dan-oz4qb 3 года назад +1

    Not for me. A real grapple is much more effective and not that much more money for many years of use. One design problem is when you open the top jaw the bottom swings up as well so you don't get a full vertical dump. It can also jam stuff in there and pull the lower jaw up making it difficult to dump.

    Not a good design. The maximum opening width is so small you can’t get anything in it. Kinda wimpy construction too... looks like 1/4" plate, not 1/2" that is needed. Also there are no zerk fittings on the pivot points.
