    Can you do all the under body bracing on the mk8 CS

  • @junobd
    @junobd Год назад +1

    On the rear body brace (carbon fiber interior brace) did it require trimming the carpet around the cargo loops? My Mk8 appears to be fully carpeted there

      Sorry, I do not have this information to hand. You can ask RacingLine for the installation guide so you know what you are getting yourself into!

      I cannot recall, if you want to install you can ask RacingLine for the installation instructions

    hi let me ask you a question
    i just received same springs for my RS3 8Y but they did not come with any shorter bump stops ? did you get your spriings with them?
    such as H&R springs which i had before they came with shorter bump stops so i wonder why racingline does not need them shorter
    thanks

      I can only assume because they do not need shorter bump stops...

    Did you replace with new bolts/nuts when installing the new springs?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  Год назад

      Standard practice is to replace the bolts specified by VW where possible

    how many NM or foot pounds of torque did you use for the prop shaft alignment kit? Bought it for my 8Y S3 but cant seem to find a spec for it.

    Do you prefer the coils you had previously or the springs

      The BILSTEIN EVO S drive better, which is obvious as you have a spring and damper which are designed to work together from the offset. Although, I think most customers will be over the moon with the springs, and they come at a lower price point.

    i'm planning on getting 19x8.5 ET35, i know you're running ET38, have you had any rubbing issues? will ET35 be too aggressive?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 года назад +2

      Not sure, we haven't tested ET35. Bear in mind different tyres have differential actual widths too once mounted. So knowing the actual width of the tyre has an impact too e.g. Trofeo R and AR1 are much larger than their size, whereas Michelin generally come up 1mm less.
      Best to check everything before pulling the trigger.

    Do you have DCC? I’ve heard it works well along side the springs?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 года назад +1

      No, we do not have DCC. Plenty of customer do though and love it!

    hey guys, how hard was it to install the Subframe alignment kit? I take it you would do this before putting in the front subframe brace?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, it's not hard at all. Essentially the same as replacing the subframe bolts.
      The two products perform different functions, the alignment kit concentrically locates the subframe whereas the subframe brace braces the subframe which helps reduce deflection of the subframe.

    Looks like the springs ride a bit bumpy. Cant see how these would be better than the coilovers.

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 года назад +4

      As you'd expect on a... bumpy road!
      Springs vs. coilovers has a few different aspects, obviously with springs the cost is much lower and the ride height is non-adjustable and what you see is what you get. The trade-off is you are using stock dampers, which do work really well - but are now trying to do the same work with ≈ 15-25mm less travel.
      For coilovers, they are higher cost but will have a damper stroke generally matched to the ride height range.
      I think for most customers, the springs will be their first port of call, especially on a road car. If however you want to run lower ride height or better dampers, then a coilover kit might be for you.
