Window regulator repair on the 2002 VW Passat GLX

In this longer than expected video, I replace the window regulator for the drivers side front window in the Passat. Apparently this is a common problem in this era of Volkswagen cars, but luckily it isn't to difficult to replace. First time I have dealt with it and this is the 4th or 5th Volkswagen I have owned...

I bought a new regulator complete on the panel cheaper than the regulator itself. It's after market but still good quality and much easier to install and only had to drill the speaker rivets out.

Why not just replace the plastic clips?
