7:51 I'm glad your gluing it in with something. There is a Vw tech bulletin listing a specific glue to glue the window to the rubber with. I found a very comparable glue at O'reilly called "goop" (google it). Clean the rubbers thoroughly, then glue the glass to the rubbers so that when the window is frozen in the winter the motor cant "pull" the regulator away from the glass. Subscribed.
Thank you i was thinking, well do i need the glue. Because mine falls off every once in a while so i was thinking maybe i could just tighten it. But seeing this tells me i need to glue it.
This just happened to me last weekend Windows we’re frozen and the passenger window all of a sudden started coming down crooked. I’m guessing the rear of the window got loose from the regulator.
Thank bro super helpful saved me a ton of time and money your a lifesaver I’m in Arizona and it’s starting to get hot so it would have sucked not being able to roll my window down since my a/c is out I appreciate you
Thanks man saved me probably 500$ at a shop, my window fell completely through had to use a ruler with double sided tape to get it out and then the rest was easy.
A heads up for anyone doing the passenger door you have to pop the veneer off of the outside of the handle. Then there are 2 Phillips screws holding it to the frame and 3 holding it to the plastic. Just remove the 2 bigger brass screws and you should be able to take it off like he has in the video
ahh, I was really hoping this would work for the fifth gen jettas too; they don't have the same regulators sadly. I thought someone had connived a way to reach it without taking the outside of the door off 😂 good post still!! I'm sure this helped others... I'm just doomed to have to do extra nonsense :,)
