Easy mod for the slop... drill a hole with the barrel in place and tap it for a grub screw, be sure the grub screw has the little grippers on the bottom to grip the dimple you made in the barrel when drilling ;)

So, if you mess up on widening the port hole, couldn't you just cut it off, clean up the end and re-drill the hole again if you have a longer than stock barrel? 24" gives you a lot of material to work with.

Hey there! How far down Did you drill using the 11/64th drill....? Did you Need to smooth out the lead on breech end so Pellets aren't scored and O-ring seals correctly?

You are also missing a safety point. The original transfer port is machined steel for a reason, it acts as an anchor for the valve inside the tube. The only thing holding your valve in place now is that silly single screw.

    Why not use a tap?

I can buy a brass tube transfer port from e-bay with a sealing sleeve that seals both barrel and action ends of the port. GB£5.00

The 11/64 is the smaller size so it goes all the way through. The 1/4" bit should go in about half as far. And yes, whenever drilling metal you'll need to deburr the hole. Rolled up sand paper works well for that.

Maybe a Cone shaped rotary file with rounded tip , let's say 3/16" to about 1/4" going in breech end?
