- Part 4 of my Crosman 1322 modification series. This episode covers modifying the piston and valve tip. I'll be stuffing the piston and modifying the valve tip to increase air pressure in the valve beyond what factory can produce. Chrono strings between steps to show improvements as I progress the modification.
I also flatten the rubber cup flat with RTV. To get more air pressure. Along with flattening the nipple on valve. Big difference!
Thanks so much for your careful analysis of your upgrades, very helpful. I think the only MOD I'll do is polishing the pump tube , hammer and trigger job as you have done, with great results. I will not need to pump more than 10 times to take down a squirrel or rabbit. Thank you
A 14 inch Barrel will get you to that 12f/lb. My 1377 has only had a 2240 transfer port and the 14 inch .22 cal barrel and 20 pumps gets me to 600 fps wit the Crosman 14.3 grain pellets

I'm sure an additional 4 inches on barrel would give significant improvements in velocity, but the point of this endeavor is to keep the gun as short as possible.
The guy that was getting 880 fps was at 50 pumps . He also had a longer barrel . He was a machinist too . So he modified some of the parts he bought too. .He also made the pump handle bigger to give him more leverage .
It seems polish did the most so far, expense vs performance...cleaning and polish the all parts, I think the 14 inch barrel had the best upgrade.. each step and testing is awesome. 3 yrs since 4 ? 5
I only have 20 yards MAX to shoot. These mods are WAAAAY beyond my world ! but still exciting

This defetively sounds like too much work for the gains in my personal opinion bit it was a pretty interesting experiment!
You got the Weather, Temp, pressure, etc... but you should have listed the Pellet wt. or I missed it.
He said in the first video that he was using 14.3 gr. crosman pellets.
Weather affects CO2 guns, it doesn't affect pneumatic air guns
** Note.... Cold air is Denser. * ie. on Cold days you get more air in your gun.. and the pumping warms it up !!!
Everyone who says over 10 pumps doesn't make a difference pay attention

my 2289 shoots at just over 1100 fps with the mods: Steel breech, 16" barrel, "BOSS" Valve, and adjustable pump with flat piston.
your on the right track.. but it comes as a sub 600 fps gun.... simply putting a long barrel on it and modding the valve will get you past 800 easily... 2.4 foot pound to sub 10 anyway..
mine shoots 7 grain premier hollow points through 2 2 by4's that the kinda power you want?
ooow ok ...lol I had to buy all the mod parts 14" barrel , Rp high power value, breach, hollow probe , big drum for the hollow bult ... wood stock homemade and pump arm and homemade muzzle brake that converts to a silencer ... .. should I get the 18 "barrel for a little bit more fps ?? I only pump up to 15 and got power ..haven't really pushed it past 20 most 15 pumps ..
Is the rp valve any good? Ive searched everywere but cant get a straight answer. Would you recomend it over a flat top or is there not much of a difference? I'd rather get the rp because its cheaper but at the same time id rather pay extra if flat top is better. Thanks

Is your polytube sealing well, or does air vent through the side, between the tubes when you shoot?
No poly tube yet. The gun only has modified stock parts.
question bill is the benjamin trail np xl magnum .25 good az said because that's the next rifle on my list from a few months ??
I have no experience with that rifle.

Better of with longer barrel
Just be careful, b4 long u are gonna find the "weak link" in the chain and have a failure. Obviously Crosman didnt intend this gun to do these numbers....ok.....that said ....freaking rock on man! I'm thinking about the 1377 personally. Ive got like 4000 Premier Hollow Points In .177 plus another 1000 in my case. I just killed a Gamo Shadow Wisper break barrel and that was my only .177. Id like to get/modify an air venturi avenger in said cal. But ....the $ tree has died
in the UK if you go 20-25 pumps you commit a crime and you could go to jail for years !
With my plunger mid. I can do what 10 pumps does at 4-5 pumps
