In the small town I was born in there was a little boy who was killed when he ran into the street in front of a school bus while waiting for his big brother to get home from school. I think about it frequently, especially since I have kids that age now

This didnt scare me but always made me sad. My mother would tell how a little girl had drowned when my mother was in her early teens I think. So it must have been the late 1930s. She said there were fingerprints or handprints of the girl, on windows and mirrors, and the mother wouldnt let anyone clean them off. Like never. I'm 64 and I never see a childs handprint without thinking of that.

The age-old story of a child tripping and falling onto the dishwasher with knives and folks sticking out. Awful. My mother always puts the blade facing downwards because of that.

I moved to KC in early 2007, Kelsey Smith was the talk of the town. So was Kanakuk among the kids. Both pretty creepy in retrospect.
I grew up in lawrence and learned about John Brown in 3rd grade history class. That gave me night mares.
(Honestly, I just thought Kanakuk was a rich kid camp.)

My mother and grandmother let a 24 year old man move into my bedroom.
    I was 14.
He was my first 'boyfriend', my first everything.
My mother was arguing with me the other day and trying to insist that 'you were NOT 14', then didn't say anything when I asked her how my being 15 made the situation any less horrific.
    More silent treatment ensued.
I said that I remember being at his parents house and they gave me a birthday present.
He made me pretend that I was turning 15.

You should have said that(you can imagine what happened next) after you said she fell asleep while eating candy and you guess what happened next. Not after you basically told the whole story/main parts of the story 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️
