I love that mechanical parallel linkage on the loader. I wish all loaders had that. My dad had Massey Ferguson tractors like that back in the fifties and sixties with that side shifting backhoe.
These a un killable , best little machines ever for what they are .The 3 cylinder perkies will go forever. I drove these from a kid when I was about 8 year old until an old fella :-P lol . I now have my own MF 50b next size up 4 cylinder perkie and comes in at 5 ton as apposed to the 40s at 3 ton. Great machine you will never regret buying her. Enjoy :-)
This is an industrial backhoe. And in the 70s that meant alot. Mf 65 rear end= super strong. Perkins diesel engine = strong durable, reliable. I'm restoring mine, loads of aftermarket parts available. Sparex. Good buy chum. Smart purchase.
My mf40 is from 1972 it works hard and keeps on going. If there is a problem it is straightforward to fix unlike modern stuff that needs 5 years in collage to risk looking under the bonnet!!!
I believe mine to be much the same age, maybe around 1975, your wright fairly easy for parts and to work on so , down the track I would like to renewing hydrolic seals in the swing cylender and pump, had a good run with her so far cheers
@@squarewheel6182 Hi Thanks for that, sorry for the late reply but only just noticed your response. Mine looks identical, but have no plates so can only assume mine is a MF40 as well, great machine overall just had my gear shifter fall out so currently playing around with that.
Hi. I have a MF40 which must be the twin brother to yours. Can you tell me what model backhoe you have? I can see a metal ID tag on the side of your backhoe seat support box. It will have the model and serial no. Mine is missing. Thanks mate.
Hello, the number on the back actor is model 40, serial no. 1553 the loader is model 207, serial no.2057 both say made in Aus. Hope this is helpfull to you cheers
@@squarewheel6182 Hi. Thanks for the info. My MF40 is the same. Looks like they named that backhoe with the same model name of MF40. See my little clip on my channel. Cheers

Great Video, did you have any luck in getting a manual for the backhoe and loader. Thanks
Yes I did, I got a shop manual used from ebay, cost $80, Its more of an overview of the whole machine, it seems to have been printed in the day
