OH MY GOD THE FIRST TWO ROUNDS Those rounds ALONE had me jumping out of my chair. I haven't even gotten past the first match but I can already tell this game was the highlight of the tournament.
@@99superjesus Valle's frametrap When he just stood there for Daigo's wake up was all tension. "What are you going to do!?", and he goes for a grab. Smart, but Daigo caught on.
Bit late to the party but things can be appreciated but also boring. Nothing wrong with boring as such, it was tense stuff. But also somewhat repetitive and boring..
just came back to watch this match again and i see my comment from 2 years ago. I think that there are "boring" parts of this match, but i think that is what makes this match so exciting. (almost) every fireball thrown has a risk associated to it. They are showing their opponent at what they are willing to bite at, and what risks they are willing to take. The "boring" parts set the stage for the big reads later in the match.
@@joqqeman i think because you might not understand what was happening in this match it goes deeper than pushing buttons and being repetitive. Like Boxing and Tennis. This match right here was high in mental games. Countering, timing, patience and adjustments all in mere seconds reading the man not the game.
I think this is probably my favourite high-level match I've ever watched for SSF4, which I find really odd as I gave up Ryu as my main because I got bored of him. But THESE guys...! Man! What an incredible match!
I just started practicing Street Fighter. After years of getting my ass kicked by my brothers and not knowing where I was going wrong, it's great to finally understand, to a certain extent, what players are doing. This is definitely the best match I've seen, and Alex Valle is my favorite. West Coast!
Daniel Masterson honestly it gets much more hate than it deserves because it’s not SF4. It’s SF5 for a reason it’s not meant to be a replica of 4, people need to move on so they can actually appreciate the game
never saw this match. ultradavid mentioned it on the podcast SRK was bumping. never really played competitively but this is really putting alot in perspective in terms of "its not just punching, kicking and fireballs"
Daigo and Valle, this was where all began. 15 years ago. 15 years later, Valle said to Daigo "you are the best Ryu in the world". from 2 young boys to 2 grown up men, i think at this point, Valle is going to fade away from tournys. cuz there is nothing for him to prove, and 1 final battle with Daigo, a perfect Ryu mirror match, and a tearful ending.
Two of the best Ryu players in the world....going at it against each other. Hell these two have been playing against each other since back in Alpha 2 days... Just goes to show you two things 1. An old dog can learn new tricks 2. Rivalries never really go away
"Daigo is the best Ryu in the world at the end." I wish Fuudo's Ryu would get more recognition..he bested Daigo in the World Cup Games half a year ago. Great match, btw.
Best Ryu mirror match I have ever seen. Who can hate on Daigo's and Valle's performance?! These two know how to put on a great show for the crowd. Just like watching a pro wrestling match. Or a great boxing match.
No matter how many characters in street fighter are, the real fundamentals are shown when it comes to a Ryu VS Ryu mirror match. Both of these guys can keep fighting each other and I can watch like all day long.
@Beecels I think I know the answer to this one already, but I think I should ask anyways: How many and which fighting games development process(es) have you been involved in?
So... what do you think of this video one year later? Assuming you have been playing Street Fighter seriously this whole time. Still hold onto that view?
this is by far and away the best match ever recorded in street fighter!!!! freakin those footsies were insanely godlike by both players!!! Daigo= Ryu, Valle= Ryu!!!!!!
@arjan127 yes, it's about tournament gameplay. i was inspired it. that doesn't mean i was inspired by their reasons for playing, it doesn't mean that i'm somehow not allowed to play for fun, and it doesn't have anything to do with viper or seth, which is what my original comment was about.

I was 18 years oldwhen this happened. I'm now 30. Man how time flys
You and me both brother. You and me both.
this hits hard
I was 14 😬
Samesies
I’m 30 I wish this game had the netcode sf6 have
There's enough intelligence to run a government.

With Ryu, Alex Valle is like The American Daigo.
***** Nah the prior statement is truer. Daigo is the beast after all.
Valle is not as good as Daigo. He always loses to him.
noless that’s not true at all
I keep coming back to this match to watch a great example of the footsie game. No vortex, no bullshit, rarely any frame traps, just solid footsies.
This one and the their Madcatz match -- I love watching them both over and over.
+CharmingRogue there are frame traps all the way through this lmao
bruh if you dont know frame traps you're shit

@@lilacrain3283 I didn't know what a frame trap was at that time. Either that, or it was a joke. I can't tell at this point.
this match stands the tests of time. This is how sf4 was intended

This is my favorite match of all time.
Calipower Ryu vs. Umehara Ryu.
The best SFIV set ever. Thumbs if you're watching in 2016 post SFV release. The footsies handbook was written for this.
this or Daigo vs Momochi at stunfest GF2015....
Sf4 25th anniversary Daigo vs Infiltration winners finals!
2021 and this classic still so gooood
That's one of the most brilliant matches of all the fighting games history! The high level of gameplay and technique for both are still astonishing!!!
7:43 for the best example of footsies ever.
This match is so good it deserves studying!

I still go back to this from time to time. Truly a great footsie battle
This is SF at its most pure. A beautiful display of fundamentals and risk management.
THIS is the definition of Mirror Match.
The definition of street fighter is this match right here
one of the best sf4 tournament vids ive seen
Still in my opinion one of the best matches of 2010, one of the truest forms of high level play between two of the best players in the SF Universe.
Such mastery on display here. It's really cool to see them clash against each other for so many years.
Big respect to both these legendary players. Best fight I've seen this year, this was just epic!
I watched this live back in the day, great match.
I wish sf5 were this exciting
It is november 2013 and I am coming back to say this is still one of the best footsie based matches I've seen.
It is August 2019 and I am coming back to say that I miss this game and that SFV was a mistake
Hands down the best Ryu vs Ryu match so far.
Still one of the greatest matches ever
Precisely my friend :)
i never thought i'd ever be entertained by a ryu mirror match, and this proved me wrong
This is the match that inspired me to get better at sf. This is mastery.
"you see the relief on daigo's fac.....wait there's no emotion at all" - 6:32
The best cr MK footsie match i ever saw

*Views from other FGC crowd. (tekken, melty blood, blazblue, marvel vs. )
"This is boring fireball game shoryuken only spam."
jesus christ this is getting old. SF 5 is fine its not the best but god damn its pretty much the only game that keeps the fgc going

Superb match, one of my favourite
Japanese arcade school vs American arcade school
I've always loved watching these guys fight it out over the years. Also, the footsies in this match are insane!
Watching this for the even how old it is still makes me tense. Best ssf4 fight ever!!
This was such a competitive tournament, there were so many amazing matches and high level players. I LOVE IT.
Finally Valle has learned the SF4 series with his character... he's ready to be top 3 now.
I remember watching the stream to this and got amped when I saw that clutching.
This is some Top shelf competitive gaming.
I need more Valle vs Daigo Sf4 matches. They didn't compete that often. Always fun to watch them both go at it. Two amazing players.

1. An old dog can learn new tricks
2. Rivalries never really go away
one of THE beast Daigo matches I've seen! mad props go to Valle for those SICK clutch moments!
That was the BEST ryu vs ryu match I have EVER seen props to both valle and daigo

This set is the epitome of footsies and great reactions. Love it!
This is the best Valle, Daigo match that has ever happened.

Best Ryu vs. Ryu match yet!
That Ultra Man achievement is simply perfect :) Alex was the Ultra man in this match.
Best Ryu mirror OAT me thinks
fischer vs spassky is the best description of this beautiful chess match.
fischer vs spassky set is know for the political situacion implied, not for the chess games itsefs. Great games tought.
Damn, insane match. Valle made some huge comebacks, tbh if he continues to battle him he has a good shot, very solid ryu.
best 2 street fighter players ever, what a match

never thought a ryu mirror match can be so hype to watch
I really don't see what was so great about this match, fireballs and sweeps. SF is checkers,Tekken is chess.
Sadly, the last great SF game we'll probably ever get. It'll never be as good as this.
I've never felt compelled to favorite a match before, but I know I wanna watch this over and over to understand what happened.
