      SF4 does take a lot of skill to pull off half of these combos! Remember SF4 had cancels, combo cancels, focus cancels to expand combos, precise spacing, crazy punishments and let's not forget crazy ex combos into ultras. SF5 only has cancels due to the V trigger not natural cancels with the super bar. Also as we have seen it is way easier to pull off long combos in SF5 compared to SF4!

However I look back at this game and in hindsight I can very well at least say 4 still felt like a fighting game. 5 just doesnt look right to me I never understood why they decapitated so much of what made the series such a great fighter just so they could bring in new players. Players that never showed up to play their easy looking guessing game. I've not played Street Fighter much but I would like to see a return to form one day in 6. Evil. He is higher tier.
      If Daigo was facing himself, both having the precise playstyle, then it would come down to the survival of the fittest, and e.ryu just has more damage output, divekick, teleport, red fireball, better buttons, and faster movement, and faster dashes.

      +f*ckers in school telling me
      Evil Ryu may have bigger damage output, but Ryu has more life so they even themselves out that way. Teleport is crap for Evil Ryu.
      Now on to who would win in a head on match. Daigo Evil Ryu or Daigo Ryu, Daigo Ryu. One, Daigo is just a stronger defensive player than offensive player. Ryu's fireballs are faster and his normals are faster. Playing Evil Ryu is also way riskier than Ryu because there is a much larger chance to drop combos, whereas with Ryu Daigo almost never dropped his combos. I think the above match with Tokido gave us a look at how strong Daigo is on the defensive and Ryu just allows him to better make use of that.

    • @r011ing_thunder6
      @r011ing_thunder6 8 лет назад

      ***** I still think E.Ryu, however u have a point on his teleport being crap. BUTT
      we're forgetting supers and daigo's scare tactics with super. E.Ryu's is 100% certain to land if it's activated in front of his face. that being said it's very easy for him to bait something out. daigo e.ryu might do a hop kick or overhead and it might turn out to be a super or it might not. he could also guess a fireball and land in front and activate or just go for damage - whichever is better. raging demon is like a vortex in itself causing you to guess and gamble and if you guess wrong daigo e.ryu can punish

    Stunfest 2015 Grand Finals are definitely in the top 5 for SF4 matches 2009-2015. The whole Top 8 was ridiculously good, though. One of my favorites in fighting games tournaments.

    I don't think they needed to play again after the double KO because Daigo won the game since he was up a round. The CPT rules for draw games is only when neither person wins the game ie. two double KOs

    Once in a while I go back and watch great matches like this to remind myself how fun and hype SF was. I miss seeing great players like this showcase their skills. It's amazing how far SF has fallen because of SF5 and it's complete garbage gameplay. Thanks Capcom SMH.

      Sf 5 gets really old really fast. Its just so simple you see everything over and over on a loop. In sf 4 there was always unique combos or situations.

    man sfiv ryu had a deadly low mk. If capcom restored his mk range in sfv I don't daigo would ever lose another sfv tourney

    • @sanctuary8873
      @sanctuary8873 8 лет назад +2

      Cr mp is better in sf5 now because it combos into fire ball at max range, cr mk doesn't (unless you get a counter hit). So yeah they pretty much nerfed/shortened his footsie range in 5, pretty bad.

    It never occurred to me before today lol

    • @blobeyeordie
      @blobeyeordie Год назад

      I rarely saw it done competitively but depending on your opponent's character you can crouching light punch from light tatsu and medium tatsu at range then squeeze a forward dash under your opponent for more mix-ups. I miss the days of catching people with a demon with setups like those

  • @Harlec
    @Harlec 9 лет назад

    I think Daigo learned from Momochi, Infiltration, etc. that in this game, at this level, you can't play only one character, even if he's as strong as E. Ryu. It was pretty hype to see old Ryu again.

    • @Harlec
      @Harlec 9 лет назад

      ***** The japanese pride? Daigo switched to Yun because they nerfed Ryu and Yun was the strongest in AE, when they nerfed him he switched (for some months only, true) to Akuma, and then he switched to E. Ryu. You need to understand that the maximum pride for this pro players is the victory, and I'm totally ok with that. If they have to change characters, like Momochi or Mago does, they will do it for sure.

      Yeah, people love to hate on usf 4 though. It has a few stupid characters (fuerte) and needed maybe one more patch for elena and few other issues. Mostly though its a very good game much better than 5. You never run out of stuff to learn or improve at because its so difficult in execution

    • @sourapple7831
      @sourapple7831 4 года назад

      The beauty in sf4 is that you can lab with anything and not needing to buy or farm points to get a character. It does have dumb characters but it is not the kind of game that dumbed down so casuals can play as better players can only express skill and mastery more. Only thing i hate about this game is the character models and animations, no flexibility too stiff and clunky for me.
