I really like the idea of being able to TX a narrow bandwidth. That might help in DX pileup to get heard over the others.

@@John-622 Narrow. If you have tighter bandwidth you'll sound more like the classic airline pilot sound. That will cut through like a sharp knife. It's going to be more useful on sideband.

I still want a waterfall/bandwidth display showing the side band and neighbor frequencies.

Buy a mini oled display and mount an sdr inside the chassis. Seems to be plenty of room in there with the new smaller board.

My tech is good friends with the builder and they say there is no need for any hack mods only factory settings and old style tuning
I have a version 1 i got one when they first came out they did a short run on them in the UK and then supplies just stopped i really would love a V2 but cant get them at all here. I have the new KPO dx5000 which is very similar to the v2 Stryker but there are some slight differences.

I think people get confused when they compare a Stryker with an HF set. Number one and foremost the Stryker is a CB radio that can cover 10-11-12 meters and not an HF set.
People also judge the Stryker without doing their research or ever owning one.. The Stryker has it's niggles like any other radio but it's performance and sensitivity is phenomenal and better than any of my other cb radio's including the Lincoln 2+ rev 3 and McKinley, President George, or Grant 2 premium or any other cb in the same class. The Stryker is a fantastic CB radio.. and not an HF set so they can't be compared with one another.
10 11 & 12 meters are all HF so it is a HF radio. CB is just the 2 letters like HF.
@@xjohn1970 hi Jay, 11 meters is CB 27mhz.. 10 meters is 28mhz and 12 meters is 24mhz are ham bands.. the Stryker is predominantly shipped as a ten meter band radio which also covers extra frequencies the majority of CB radios like the Stryker and others I mentioned above can transmit on 10 meters .. the Stryker is just one of those radio's like many other cb's which cover multiple bands once put into export mode.. even those who build the Stryker state it is a CB radio not an HF set.. the difference between a CB and HF set is that the HF sets have closed bands, but can also be wide banded to cover CB channels on 11 meters 27mhz.. but for a ham ticket holder it is illegal to transmit on out of band channels like 11 meters.. it's a sketchy grey area if a CB that covers ham bands is legal to talk on because it would have to be modified.. another thing to take into consideration is the fact that the on the Strykers box and radio it states 10 meter amateur band.. this is just branding letting the customer know it covers 10 meters as do many other manufacturers yet they never state it is a HF set.
Almost all of my ham friends also say it's not a HF set but a CB radio that should be banned.. but then again some hams can be sticklers to the rule's of being a ticket holder.. I myself don't care to me it's radio and I'm here for the enjoyment of the hobby, I love my Stryker regardless of what anyone says about them. 🙂

Does version 2 still need the diode unsoldered from the board to open up 11 meters?
Thankfully they put a white jumper wire on the board to snip instead of getting out a microscope!

Seems they are not happy. I had a guy tell me this radio wasn't released yet... when I shot it. Yeah,... Some followers don't really pay attention. Remember, to be careful on those highways and bi-ways. !

Does version 2 allow you to hear the Roger beep through the talkback? I have a very old 955 when they first came out and you cannot hear the Roger beep through TalkBack. Also Rodger beat changes depending on what Channel you are on.
Yes, you can hear the roger beep through talkback on the New (2022) and my older (2020 model). One thing on the 955 is the settings are channel specific as far as roger beep and even moving the clarifier. I always use the Stryker software and USB cable to "read" the radio settings and adjust roger beep and frequency easier. Thanks for watching !

How do you get into "service" mode in the menu? How does one add 11 meters?

@@EricTechstuffs : Hell yeah, I've done 6 of them already and figured out how to make the V2 perform like the V1.
Put the playback speed at 1.25x the video is a little bit more watchable.

4khz transmit audio ? most Hf radios cant even get 3 khz on transmit.
I've taken out 2 Stryker 955s that were doing 90 watts each with mods with my 949 w/rfx75 doing only 50w with no mods. We were side by side when we ran against each other. I've got the only Stryker Killer on the east coast. Old school is always better.

As to the K-Po ... its designed for the EU market, and that's why it performs the way it does.

There is actually a technician in Lordsburg New Mexico called hard drive also known as fine-tune CB shop on RUclips what does nothing except for the Stryker 955 and he's also pay nobody's ass but that's what he does and now he's on the version 2❤

When you snip the jumper does it become a splatter box that has to be "tuned" like all the youtube experts say, or can you just run with it in the real world?

Thanks for responding. I don't care about transmitting at a million watts on cb, I just want more options in 1 chassis, seems like export mod is the way to go. Couldn't wrap my head around all the videos from all these guys having to perform magic on equipment that should function pretty well out of the box. Thanks again.
How to change name on screen
With the USB cable and the computer software. Your radio should have came with that cable and the software is free to download !
To be honest Eric. I can't stand the strykers I rather run hf gear than waste money on junk. I'm gonna get bashed on this . But I feel Stryker is over priced junk
These are sitting on top of a 7300 ! These prices can get you into a nice full coverage HF transceiver. I just had it gifted before others got to play with it.
Point proved🤣😂 that 7300 best audio and I'm not a icom guy. But 7300 7610 etc awesome audio has heil mixer built in that's why

I really like my Stryker 955. It has excellent receive, never gets off frequency on sideband, and I get good reports from contacts.
The 955v2 was a huge disappointment. The TX audio is washed through a poorly designed filter which introduces distortion or some sort of digital artifact/noise.
Since the new CRT SS-6900 and DX-5000 are based upon all of this - It's disappointing for the the radio industry as a whole on these new ones. I am in the process of digging up old Jackson and Grant out. Solid performers!

He does not have a faraday cage. It's a cargo trailer. Ever wonder why his phones and wifi work inside of that faraday cage? Think about that.
