Dirk was a phone booth scorer at the 4
Yup!
Amare was the other. Especially in NYC
I’m taking Chuck over dirk in an iso situation respectfully.. Barkley the best 4 phone booth scorer and I’m 23
Dirk was HIIIIIMMMM
@@NubahMusic dirk was a bucket but limited. He was back to the basket. Catch and shoot. Barkley way more versatile
Kevin McHale at the 4. The dude was legit unstoppable. He rarely missed
-- Outside of Hakeem, McHale had elite footwork and a bag of post moves.
if Charles Barkley calls McHale one of the hardest to play against, that's some respect.
Slippery Eel!
Good pick there
That’s a good call.
Yessss
Can’t forget Hakeem Olajuwon at the 5
easy
Hak not phone booth tho,the Dream Shake required dribbling..
I was screaming him 😅
@@EffDinero8 AI don't dribble?😂
all day
LaMarcus Aldridge
Only player to score more buckets from 2010-2020 than Lamarcus Aldridge is Lebron James
Deadass tho just boutta type that
False
@nickglamuzina6949 thank you for the false information
His turn around post fade was unstoppable. That one shot made him a wealthy man. lol
Melo preaching and giving flowers
No TMac? Damn
To Jordan who everyone reveres
@@pistolp4115not everyone, especially now a lot of people disregard him.
@@NatTurnergrandsonChrisdorner not like they do lebron
GUARDS TO BIGS: Oscar, Jerry West, MJ, Kobe, SPLASH BROTHERS, Pistol Pete, Alex English, Durant, Elgin Baylor, Sam Jones (nice shooter & NINE rings 🔥🔥 with Bill Russell), T-Mac, PG13, Moses, Duncan, Olajuwon & MANY MORE
Hakeem Olajuwon at the 5 should have been easy lol
Shaq do u know what phone booth mean lol tight quarters dude
Right
Yep
Facts!
He wasnt a pure scorer lol. He was a beast but this isnt what the convo was about
BIG shoutout to Al Jefferson, played against him in high school... A beast
No you didn’t
Damn unc
@williamortiz237 why would he lie. Al's not like a legend to lie about playing with lol
@@ef692I worked with someone who played against Devin booker in high school it ain’t rare at a school level before college
@@gonetilaugust two of my friends also played against Devin Booker. Obv we're all originally from Mississippi
MJ, Kobe T-Mac, KD
shaq
The real ones
PG and Melo needa just stay together on a pod lol
Agreed
Bird not being even mentioned as either forward spot (he played both) is kind of wild. Dude killed people who were standing in Front of him without even dribbling half the time.
I completely agree. All his peers always praise how nasty and unstoppable he was
Your right.
And Larry called the shots before he launched them
Bird at 3, McHale at 4
I saw that Al Jefferson highlight tape the other day. One dribble is all he needed. He was cold
Super cold
I'm glad my man Paul Pierce getting his flowers. People just don't know how nice he was but like I always say his name is always in the number
BRUH i was sitting there when they were talking about the 4 "Dirk, please say Dirk." And Melo finally said it. Dude could score from anywhere
You have to be incredibly skilled to be a phone booth scorer. I never even understood what that was until Melo kept dissecting it on his podcast and I went back to look at his game and saw exactly what he was talking about. Not needing that much space to score and only doing like 1-3 dribbles before getting that shot off is a dangerous player! Made me appreciate his game more.
Dream not at 5 is criminal
You understand phonebooth?? Lmao. This ain't the greatest of all time dude. Stop.
Zach Randolph at my 4 all day. Watch his 2011 series against the spurs and you'll see exactly why.
Not really a phone booth scorer
Cookin dudes 1v1
Dirk is the god pull here bro. A 7 footer that doesn't really need a dribble to get buckets. That's hard af.
Amare was cookin in NYC. He literally played like a big Melo
Zach a good phone booth
McHale at the 4 anyone?
The man of thousand moves beast!
Yeahhh
Literally him and dirk are the best options as far as phone booth scorers
@@kingofcomments1917big facts
The unstoppable man.
Tim Duncan in the booth off the glass
Lamarcus Aldridge
I’m surprised they ain’t mention boogie. He been a legit phone booth since college and he walk so Joel could run tbh.
Same thing I said
Better player than Dwight
He sucks
Paul pierce at the 4 over Tim Duncan is wild asf 😂
well more about the "phonebooth" definition
Truth
Phone booth
Amare
Man fr. I was screaming dirk and Timmy d when they got to the 4. Don’t know why it took em so long to say dirk
Speaking of old ,,, Iceman, Adrian Dantley, Bernard King, Automatic Buckets. , ... 😲 Dale Ellis was cold too.
Don't forget Alex English, Melo's predecessor as a great on the Nuggets.
I only just learned about Adrian Dantley recently, dude was an amazing bucket, scored 30ppg in the 80s for a few seasons too damn
Bernard King was a pure scorer and Dale Ellis was an awesome shooter!!
Melo a real dude. Respect the OG’s that’s honorable.
Uncle Mike don't get enough credit?!!?! Have you not been in a Barbershop?😯🍻🍺lol
he not on levron level doe
No Hakeem is crazy
I was waiting for Melo to say him
No Hakeem or Kareem even mentioned is crazy. No stopping Kareem sky hook in a phone booth
Both needed setup guys
Talk to em
You need to be drug tested if you think Kareem is even better than Kevin McHale tbh (as a post scorer)
@@mybestnugget7514 That's a really good one. This is a fun topic I forgot how good so many of these are being tightly guarded
@@mybestnugget7514bro did you just say that kevin mchale is better than kareem
Hakeem Olajuwon is the ultimate phone booth 5
Aldridge came to mind right away
Amare Stoudemire played similar to Melo in NYC
JOEL is such a phone booth scorer
can u explain what a phone booth scorer
@@jmobile354Being able to score without doing too much, or within tight space
Look up Kyrie layup on Kawhi
@@andypandy4722somebody who can be guarded perfectly / extremely tightly so they have pretty much no space but have the ability to create a good shot out of nowhere through the use of counter moves (pump fakes, footwork, dribble moves) - best all time examples are Kyrie, MJ, Kobe, KD, Melo, Dirk - u can put them all in a straightjacket and they’ll some how get a look off
The way PG scratched his neck when he chose KD 😆😂
Al Jefferson footwork was nasty work
Yea for big heavy wide body guy crazy footwork. His moves are like Hakeem..
Real question for the pod. Why don’t a lot NBA vets consider LeBron as a scorer? Considering all the multiple big games and moments in the regular season and playoffs.
because lebron himself dont say he's a scorer . but he was the most points in history
Because they talking handles, mid range, iso scoring. Lebron is obviously the greatest scorer but he just get bucks in the flow of a game and a lot of his points come at the rim. It’s kinda how people diminish Shaq skills because he was just so big and strong and mainly dunked.
@@deadlooppoolthat’s a scorer😹
@@bankrollthird then argue with the guy with the most points when he said he is not a scorer :)
@bangisss thats only because he plays more years and more games than everyone else...dude hardly misses games in his first 19yrs!!!
Can’t believe y’all missed Tmac
Mannnnnn
oouuuuu yea good one...
That part
I mean there's better options bro.
they had Mike and Kobe what you talking about
Al Jefferson was a beast fr
Mj doesn’t get enough credit 😂😂
To much credit
He only said that cause he signed to em 😂
Do people really think of MJ great foot work, pivots etc. first when it comes to his Hoopin talent?

Nice to see Dirk get some praise. Underrated during his career for someone being so excellent for so long
Karl Malone? Charles Barkley? Tim Duncan? What the hell P!

Then you don’t understand the criteria then
Mchale!
Phone booth scorers, meaning can score in 2 to 3 dribbles
@@douglasfulmer5483the predator🤣🤣🤣
PG: Kyrie
SG: Brandon Roy
SF: Melo
PF: Dirk
C: Cousins
Here’s my 5 1. Curry 2. MJ 3. Tmac 4. Dirk 5. Kareem
Bob Mcadoo at the 4 bro was killing bck in his day 3 scoring titles
MELO KNOWS REAL BASKETBALL PLAYERS !!!!!!!!
Demarcus Cousins in his prime
Lamarcus Aldridge PF SMALL BOOTH BUCKETTTTTT
I like Melo picking Dirk. I been saying this that in a 1 on 1 Dirk smokes every power forward which includes KG and Duncan
Melos knowledge & passion for the game js undervalued
Gotta find T Mac at the 5 7:50
Love the respect they gave to Paul Pierce. The truth!
Some of my first games I use to watch was lebron vs Pierce very heated matchups in the late 2000s
Sam Cassell ,Allan Houston , big dog Robinson, rasheed Wallace, memet okur. Okur is a name people don't mention now but he was before his time. One of the first 5 men to shoot 3s and he was skilled
although he was most known for elbow’n anybody upside the head…
Bill Laimbeer was money from the perimeter…SamPerkins is another 1 who preferred catchNshoot from the perimeter rather than postPlay
damn its a good combo melo and pg why not?? it's legit gotta be considered hands down.
I don’t blame Paul if he would’ve put himself in there and Chris Bosh should gets some love at the PF spot
Stoudemire
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Dwayne Wade
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Charles Barkley
C: Hakeem Olajuwon
My top 5 phone booth scorers.
1. Stephen Curry
2. Devin Booker
3. Kevin Durant
4. Hakeem Olajuwon
5. Shaq
Dbook over jordan? Nah ur opinion already invalid
ZBO missing! Bro used to get off with 1 dribble only.
Joe Johnson not being on this list is criminal.
Joe is a 3.. was he better then Carmelo or kd
@@disboifromja He's primarily the two guard but nobody's taking him over Mike or Kobe either. Unless you're criminals 😂
who would you replace for him?? if the list was like the 5 best phone booth scorers at their positions then u would have an argument
@@Drknight1212 idk… wild take but I’m probably taking iso Joe over Melo honestly. Joe was one of the purest iso scorers of all time.
@@disboifromja I think he was more of a phone booth scorer than Melo. Melo prolly has the nod for better player overall
Can’t believe they ain’t say Pistol Pete, bro was averaging 30+ without a 3 point line 😂
You know the 2000’s was a golden era for PF, when that’s the position they struggled most on a decision
Not really when PP at the 4
I Like Carmelo's List JUST A LITTLE BETTER....But Paul George Gave Really Good Players Too NO QUESTION!! 💯👏🏾
Wtf is a phone booth scorer if AI was the first pic? Serious question. Melo talked about handles then seconds later talked about no dribbles with dirk
I was thinking the same shit. I got more confused as video went further 😂
Just means guys who can score without needing space. Even if you don't get separation, can u still get a bucket
I believe phone booth scorers are referring to iso player in this case. Player who are good on a island, 1 dribble 2 dribble maybe a pump fake or strong pull up with counters like they also lamented. Dirk is the ultimate cause he scored alot no dribble literally in a phone booth type player.
Limited space and limited use of moves. Melo and Dirk are the examples.
@@gameday9912 yeah I thought so, him saying ai threw me off because he was space creator. Thanks man
Chris Bosh????
Im just glad big al got mention thank God
PG, James Harden
SG, Kobe Bryant
SF, Luka Doncic
PF, Kevin Durant
C, Joel Embiid
IMO I would have tmac in the lineup
@@bossranker9994bro same tmac was on the top of my head
It's per position, Luca isn't a sf
Lol, why does everyone hate Embiid?
Cant wait till season start😎
Only if we could Joel play against the best😎
Melo a student of the game and always giving players there flowers
I mean....the easiest one is Chris Webber at the 4.
Al Jefferson don’t get enough love. I’m glad they mentioned him. Dude was a problem.
Surprised no one mentioned Duncan, KG or sheed at the 4.
I’m surprised no one mentioned Joe Jonson either. Iso Joe is a walking bucket 👌🏽🏀
Is not about scorers is about who can get a bucket with the least amount of dribbles
😂kg and Melo don’t get along since u didn’t know
Carmelo mentions Joe Johnson at 6:58. You didn't watch the video my guy

Dirk bro come on
Dirk is a phone booth scorer. A lot of guys don’t like him cuz he’s white but he’s the best power forward scorer ever r

Bernard King at the 3. Unstoppable
Crazy how Bron never brought up despite having a higher scoring average than some mentioned lol
When was he ever a phone booth scorer he just strong
Doesn't mean he had the offensive arsenal of those mentioned. And he doesn't
it's not a matter of pickin the best 5, issa matter of pickin up "phone booth" scorers - players who can easily create space / break down their defenders no matter the situation. NO ONE thinks of lebron as a phone booth scorer
Cause he would be a stupid answer for this video
@@FuVkemmmm So LeBron just scores based off of strength... is that what you're telling me?
Big AL on the Bobcats footwork was second to none! Big respect
He ain’t put Tim Duncan at all the 4🤦🏾♂️
I love Duncan but I don't think his scoring was his strongest asset. I'd say his defense and playmaking separate him from most bigs
@@taetrrtot6205I’m sure Duncan averaged 25 for this entire career
Tim Duncan was boring so it’s easy to forget about him! 🥴
@@BonesDMS4life actually he averaged 19 for his career. As purely a scorer, I’m taking Dirk, Amare, Barkley and C-Webb over him. As an all around player, different story. I’m taking Duncan over those guys.
Tim Duncan not a scorer though. Nothing to do with “points” but Duncan not known as a scorer EVER in his career.

Giannis at the 4 on any team and you basically unbeatable. A real bucket with “no jump shot” underrated scorer for sure
are you even paying attention? it says phone booth scorer. giannis ain't like that
al jefferson for sure, freaky speed in the post for his size and build
No Tmac? I would have easily replaced Paul Pierce with McGrady, especially as a pure scorer
For some reason I think these dudes are very jealous of Tmac .. Tmac was smoother, more creative and just flat out a better scorer then all of them really …
Karl Malone??? Charles Barkley?? Those dudes were virtually unstoppable in the PF position when scoring
Those 2 would bust the phone booth into pieces.
😂😂" One Right Handed Bandit" 😂😂
All time phone booth scorer
Kyrie, MJ/Kobe, KD, Dirk, Jokic
All these guys don't need setups or spacing. Can dribble up and score and make it look easy. If your roster includes names like AI, Kareem, Hakeem, etc., you didn't understand the question.
AI, Kobe, KD, Lamar Odom, Boogie Cousins
