Melo was only 9 when King retired. There was no internet yet. Someone was showing him the tape, I presume.
Don’t know when Melo moved to B-More but maybe they showed Bullets games locally. I was watching MJ on WGN Chicago in New Orleans. Maybe he was watching Bullets games in B-More vs MJ.

Getting to practice with him during 6th period and during varsity practice before and now seeing him at this level still is amazing fr he put that work in. He had that smooth game in HS too 💯

This episode inspired me on a different level. I'm 32 and I had one of the deepest conversations with parents that I could remember as an adult. Watching Melo be a father and have his peers help with passing the torch to the next generation is special. I used to play sports and I didn't reach my full potential but I want to coach to help the youth reach theirs. I literally started working out halfway through the episode and I hope that I can continue to find motivation everyday to keep pushing forward.
