I’m a seven year hvac experience technician with residential and commercial equipment and I love this video. Thanks for making hvac videos.
Thanks for watching!
This is one of the most informational and easy videos to follow. I’ve been a service tech for 2 years and I still go back and watch videos to keep me refreshed. This video is hands down one of the best. I’m located in south Florida and we had a some cold weather this past winter, and this video alone helped me diagnose a bunch of heating calls. We don’t really get them down here so I’m not always practicing checking heaters
That really is so awesome, thanks a lot!!!
At the age lf 36 I have been in the field for 16 years now, and you by far are one of the greatest instructors that I have come across, I love you channel what you do is top tier
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks big time I am doing my apprentice on the field while I am going to the school at night
Combining that with your videos everything is going well I really appreciate the time and effort that you put in the videos
One more time thanks
Glad to help Luis!
Honestly who gives this man a thumbs down.? This a great explanation. I’ve been in the HVAC industry for over 20 years and always learn something new every time I watch his videos .
Should definitely be working as an instructor at an HVAC school. Ide get into the trade if he was my Boss. lol
Probably a plumber 😉
HVAC technicians that don't want to share the good stuff

I agree 100% with you Art. I had a shitload of questions about how a 10kw heat strip was wired and how they operate in general. This guy doing the video was all about educating the novice technician as well as the very experienced tech. Made everything clear and answered all of my questions. Very good information presented at a professional level. No need for other videos...my man has it ALL COVERED. Peace to ya brother.
I am six months in my HVAC school and we were just doing this wiring last night and it is SO confusing. You make this look so easy. Jeez I wish I had you as my teacher 😅 you’re so good at what you do. Great video.
this was the most informative and the most helpful out of all the videos i've seen. a sign of true intelligence is when you can break down complicated subjects into simple concepts that are easy to understand. thanks so much!
this guy literally wrote the book on AC
As a newbie to the servicing field this was really helpful.
Wow awesome! I’ve just replaced that fan control board on a heat pump package unit. Seems like it’s a. Common part. Interesting I didn’t know about letters F and L on the limits. Almost don’t see the electric heaters here in south California. Now after watching this video its clear to me! Thank you Craig. You are the best!
I am glad to help and thanks for your support!
This training is great for any type of technical work. Thanks
Extremely good explanation and demonstration of electric strip heating circuits
Thanks Duane!
I believe this is the best explanation I’ve seen on RUclips, thanks a lot.
That's great to hear Sarah, thanks!
Thanks Craig for the info. I'm teaching electric heat right now this semester in college.
Thats awesome Bronchee! Have you checked out my AC book yet? We have teachers using this in schools now, thanks! If you need info, email me at info@acservicetech.com thanks!
This GUY IS THE BEST!!! I WATCH ALL HIS VIDEO GREAT EDUCATOR...THANK YOU

Thank alot many tech or maintenance guy don't understand this procedure I hope this clears it up for some thanks.
Thanks Q!
Thanks so much. The video is very educational and informative.
Well done. Great video. Keep them coming!
wow, i am a 3 year tech, and in the 3 years of residential service, ive only ran into 3 electric furnaces/heat pumps and i have no idea how they worked, luckily those calls were easy, this video basically did the job for me, its as simple as 1-2-3 haha
Always great explanations and videos
Great video. Well explained.
Excellent video as always!!
Thanks a lot!
Great video,
thanks Craig
Thanks Craig u make it look easy!
Ha ha thanks Marcus!
Thank you for your video well explained help me understand how it works
Excellent video to prepare for return HVAC tech repair. Had blower but no heat, aux heat light flashing in unoccupied building after turning temp higher for cold weather. Found the HVAC tech did a maintenance service call weeks ago but failed to insert the power disconnect plug at outside heat pump. Installed disconnect and Heat Pump worked, but concerned if weeks of heat strip only damaged limit switches, fuse or heat strips as blower worked but no hot air prior to reinsertion of power disconnect plug.
Very clean, man you got a gift.
thank you for this video, very well explained!
Thank you, really appreciate your time
Super Helpful, Thanks 👍🏾
Well explained 👍 now i fully understand
Great video. I have to troubleshoot a system strip heater soon. Really helped.

Video very helpful. Thank you. Keep videos coming
Thanks, will do!
great video. thanks for posting.
Glad to help Bud!
Thank you soo much. God bless you
Thank you for putting this out there. Helped me T/S my air handler. Found the strip heaters were burned out. 1 question for you or the community here, what would cause 4 strip heaters burn out on a 4 year old air handler?
Such a great video . Thank you so much .
You are so welcome!
Thank You Excellent Explanation 👏
Glad it was helpful!
This video got me out of a jam today. Thanks!

Very good, thank you!!!!
Thanks Mauri C!
Good information thank you
Thanks a lot Jeffrey!
I have a icp unit recently replaced txv worked great a couple weeks. This morning I found ac running with heat strips on. Unplugged heat strips and now EVAP fan motor runs continuously.
Omg thank you!
Good video vary informative
Glad you think so!
Very well done video. Not overly slow , you can tell he is assuming some technical abilities
Excellent video 🤘⚡️🤘
Thanks Nor-Cal! Many people including myself really appreciate what you are doing!
AC Service Tech LLC thanks!
Good video, learn a lot from it. I will subscribed you
done, rewatch if want
This is great information. I have a Trane unit almost identical to this and the fan delay relay was changed out but with a rly2807 that has normally open connector on relay. And in ac relay works fine, but in heat mode the fan will not come on unless thermostat switch fan on. I think someone put the wrong relay on this unit, as you said this system should have a normally closed relay.
Very good tutorial... not saying I'm 100%, but very well done, & easy listening! J
I appreciate that!
Outstanding damn video!!!!
Thank you 🙏 excellent
Glad to help Abyot!
I run a company and use your videos to help out my newer techs. It saves me a lot of time. You do a great job explaining in detail. However you made one mistake, on the single sequencer (M1,M2,M3,M4) the upper and lower level contacts close at the same time, 1-20 seconds. When you have a dual heat sequencer, 2 side by side or a second sequencer (M5,M6,M7,M8) powering the 3rd and 4th heat strips, the second one will close at the later time of 30-90 seconds. I just wanted to clear that up for newer techs watching this.
Good stuff!
Thanks for the visit
nice video
Thanks for the visit
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for your video. What is the function of Sequencer in the air-handler? Does it control timing for cooling on and off?
Thank you for the helpful videos. I've run into an issue with my electric furnace that happens atleast once ever couple of days: The thermostat will call for heat, but the furnace never comes on. While testing, the only way i've gotten it to work again is jumping the fan wires (R & G) for a second or two. 5 seconds after I do that, the furnace will kick on again and go off at the specified temperature. Do you know what could be causing this and how to troubleshoot? Last time this happened, jumping R and W did not work.
Thanks 🙏
Thank you for watching!
Thanks big time 🙏🙏
Glad to help!
What turns the compressor on and the reversing valve into position for hearing?
As a new tech, this video really helps. Great explanation.
Thanks a lot Angel!
Great video! Is it possible to accidentally crosswire and have the heat strip activated when the blower is on, but the thermostat heat mode is set to off?
If you wanted to disconnect the emergency heat for a generator, which wire would you break with the low voltage wire coming from the automatic transfer switch for the generator?
Is this compartment a mock up for training? I’ve only had 1/3rd the room for my paws and meter.
Hi there I have an air handler RHSL-HM2417JA and it is setup the same like in the video. I need to replace the wires from the breaker because they burned. My question is what are the gauges of the wires coming out of the breaker and what brand of wire do you recommend? Thank you for your time.
I watched your video and was able to diagnose that the fuse is bad in my Warren WKF1002 10K heater. Where can I buy the fuses? There's no number on the fuse itself.
Hello, Thanks for informative video. I have quick question - recently, i have replaced my old 5k heat strip with 10k strip and connected all red/black wire as it was on 5k. But, when my unit runs it doesn't seems to be hot enough. Not sure if replacing with 10k did anything so I am not sure if I did something wrong? Please let me know if you can guide me. thanks
I have a heat pump and my AC and Heat pump work fine. I tested my emergency heat by changing the mode at my thermostat and my blower turned on but no hot air was produced. If the blower is on, does that rule out any concerns of a bad/tripped breaker?
Hi there! Was wondering if you’ve ever come across a transformer going bad due to issues with the motor or power coming into the transformer? I keep losing my transformer but I don’t think it’s a LV short because my fuse never gives. 🤷🏻♂️ Any help would be appreciated!
So is the green wire powered in heating? Or does that purple wire give 240 to the blower motor and turn it on? The purple wire on that relay is what confused me a bit?
Even if jump r to w on a air handler still can bring the heating elements on With bad contacts on sequencer? Thanks
Great video. What is short and short to ground in hvac ? Thank you.
Short is when a power wire touches another power wire, the common wire or ground, thanks!
Question I have a champion brand that I think used to be a York but they change name or idk but my question is why is the air handler connected with a breaker in the unit instead of being connected with a terminal i had technicians that are confused and not knowing if that even supposed to be wired that way
Do you have a video on heater interlock
I have a question. Does that blower motor runs on the same speed for cooling and heating? Since is the same common wire that power the blower motor.
Goodman package unit coils appear to be getting hot but the air at the vents is like warm at best
I have a 2-pole 20a breaker feeding my air handler. Added heat strips, when the heat is on the breaker hums? Just on the cool setting, it draws under 10a, when the heat comes on it draws 20.1a ? What gives?
Hello, I love your videos. Can you explain why we need a breaker when we have electric heat strips. Would I connect just the heat strips to the breaker or can I put the high voltage directly to the transformer from the breaker or separate.
You must have a breaker for safety reason.
When the temperature is cold my heat stops working but fan still works. And this past summer, it never got cold enough in house. Coild you point me in the right direction?
