I taught myself how to crochet instead of writing an essay for uni once. On the bright side: I eventually wrote the essay AND I know now how to crochet 😊
Probably not. if it was a skirt, it would have to be for special occasions only. A tie on the other hand... I also had the idea of putting them on a silk scarf to make a head wrap/neckerchief @@supernova622
Liz I know you're down on yourself for being afraid to use patterns, but PLEASE commend yourself for being able to do these DIYs on your own!! Like the sheer confidence it takes to trust your instincts. I use patterns to knit, but I feel like I lack a lot of problem-solving skills when I do mess up. I think you've laid a really great foundation for sewing just by trying it out on your own. I'm sure using patterns would be an absolute breeze :)
this is so kind, thank you for taking the time to leave this comment!! Now feeling much more empowered to try a pattern and be ok with making mistakes :)
I don't know if I could sew a garment WITHOUT a pattern. My brain likes the geometry of quilting so much better. Plus I'm not really a fashion girlie so I can't picture how to style things or look at a bedsheet or dress and see another garment
I am obsessed with the clay magnet houses! They're so adorable 🥺 When you mentioned not ever sewing from a pattern, I totally felt that. It's actually become one of my goals to learn how to sew from a pattern this year lol
OMG the Ganni shirt is HEAT, you did amazing!! For the charms: Earrings, cluster of charms or single; all you need is regular earring hooks, or hoop earings that have an open end you can slide a jump ring onto (my favorite!).
OH MY GOODNESS! I thought you had bought that blouse, but you MADE IT?!?! Legendary! All these diys turned out wonderfully. Please be happy with your current crafting abilities, Miss Liz Beepworld, bc you’re already stupendous. I just see you getting even better and better! As someone who can relate, it is a sustainable flex to have clothes/accessories/stuff from your middle school days. I have a few shirts and other accessories that were very oversized when I was in middle school, and now they fit me like a glove! I’m happy you were able to make those shoes something you love with a simple addition. Maybe you could use some of your leftover charms to make a charm necklace as a gift for a loved one! Also you should totally make an eyeball magnet! I love eyeball motifs haha.
all the diys turned out so cute, but i have to say the clay magnets are my favourite! this definitely inspired me to get back into simple yet rewarding crafting!
There's nothing more satisfying than putting effort in making something and then feeling awesome wearing it! I recently colored a pair of white converse, made my own shoelaces, and decorated the shoes with patches. They make me feel like a badass everytime I put them on. My boss thought they were limited edition and couldn't believe I diyed them myself.
The black shoes are my favorite!! The little roses are darling 🌹 one other hack I have is to use a black sharpie or black acrylic paint on areas on black shoes are wearing down - it makes them look new! ✨
that is a great idea those shoes do need a little sprucing up haha. & omg i was thinking the same thing about the magnets! I got christmas next year COVERED
you could make a tie up belt with charms attached as a unique accessory! you would just need some small eyelets and a cute tie belt... maybe some bigger loops too
The charms could look cool sewn on in like a pattern on sleeves of a jacket. I have a bomber jacket with plastic gems on the sleeves and the feel so luxe
You are the only person I watch for fashion content because of how resourceful you are. I'm an artsy dude and I love LOVE the little polymer clay magnets you made, I've been seeing those everywhere on my Pinterest feed lol
Omg I really want to make some fridge magnets now! The urge to craft is persistent!! Also so scared of sewing with a pattern, perfectionism really got me good 😅😅😅. With regards to the charms... my little idea would be to embellish some trainers with a chain of charms, particularly if they are heavy/ gothic/ platform trainers. I know you don't consider yourself a trainer girlie, but perhaps that will help make it an intriguing crafting goal?! Love and appreciation xx
i love making not so perfect sewing projects. Even though it's not the best, i always learn so much from my mistakes and applying that knowlege on my next one. I felt that frustration of redoing work to fix it 😭 What i learned from past sewing projects are extra prep of cutting fabric carefully, basting and pressing seams are worth it and way better than to redo mistakes because I was lazy to do the prep
please liz im begging you pleeeeaaasse style those flower shoes with funky colorful socks or tights!!!! ok also this video absolutely slays, i loved seeing your process! kudos to you for finishing that top and getting the fit right- i'm impressed! xoxoxoxox a proud citizen of beepworld
Great fun! you might want to get some black acrylic paint to cover the worn parts on the bottom part of those very cute rose shoes! It's so easy and will look like they are brand new. I often paint my shoes (some I buy with that intent) acrylic paint is so easy to use...for fabric, I mix in a little water and rubbing alcohol into the paint so they remain more flexible. I have done leopard, copper, shades of blue, and silver...just to name a few. I love the charm necklace. I also love messing with my clothes and finding hacks to change the fit... especially since I'm 5 feet tall and really wear a kids size 12, but I'm a grown woman who needs to look put together when I visit clients. I love your fridge magnets.
I’m in love with the charm necklaces. Especially the ones that have like wall decor (paintings, clocks, mirrors) on them. They also remind me of my favourite types of clothes (I dont own them yet, but I do wanna diy them) which are the ones that kinda look like they have actual objects on them (example: a shirt that has a clothing line across it with mini clothes not fully sewn onro it).
Had to go back to the beginning of the charm necklace tutorial because I was distracted by your sweater with the adorable little clown. Enjoyed all your projects, they all turned out great!
With the other charms u could make matching earrings or sew them on clothes as a small dangling detail, OR ON A SAFETY PIN WITH MULTIPLE LOOP HOLES ATTACHED, ps these diys look so adorable and turned out greaat
Love the charm necklace and magnets. For the shoes, if you want to spiff them up, you could always get leather paint in black and just touch up the worn parts. The blouse came out nice, too but I think you should get a beginner sewing pattern and start there. It really will be easier and you will be learning new skills. Joann often has sales where the patterns are just $2. Low risk....
the blouse turned out amazing!! i also diy'ed charm necklaces recently and had a blast making them. i even made a necklace for my best friend and put a few of the same charms on mine and hers so they're like bff necklaces :)
The shoes turned out so cute! I've had an ongoing project for years making those tiny roses from the little straps shirts have for hanging them. I just cut them off and sew into roses. I think I started it when fishnet tights were all the rage somewhere around 2017 and decided to sew them on my red ones along with some rhinestones. Then I decided that I want a purple cargidan with white and pink ones on the sleeves or something (still missing the cardigan though). And I also attach them to selfmade bow accessories~
The charm necklace is super cute!! The perfect DIY gift idea too, you could personalize it according to what the person you gift it to likes 🥰 The shoes are so pretty! Also not me calling the Ganni top just a peplum top until I watched this video 🤦♀ We need a whole set of outfits styled around the blouse, it turned out amazing 💕
All of your diys turned out really great! And honestly I might try all of them! I love little projects like these when I'm feeling too antsy to just watch videos
Hope you're feeling better! I cannot believe how AMAZING that ganni blouse looks. You did so well. I would wear that everyday if I made something like that. The fabric you used really takes it to the next level. I also love the charm necklaces. I've been wondering why I was so into those recently, but I guess I've been influenced lol
I am, thank you :') & thank you so much!!! I'm so excited to wear it as soon as it's warm enough:) The charm necklace influence is strong, but I am on board with it hahah
Yesterday I was thinking about sending you a comment saying I would love to see more videos of you making things, and then you posted the most perfect DIY video today! I am so impressed by all of these, but especially the top! I was watching video tutorials and downloading patterns for similar tops just a few days ago, but I’m so intimidated. I love how yours came out so much and wish I could make one! Xx
Congrats on making a lovely top through the trials and tribulations! It really suits your style ♡ Also the armholes being looser is much better than pinching elastic!
Another banger Liz, you rocked all those projects! I honestly did not notice any of the mistakes with the shirt until you pointed them out, and those sleeves are *chefs kiss*!! Glad you're feeling better! 😉
You're very talented! The clay magnets are so, so cute! I also made my version of the Ganni blouse. It's super easy. I made the sleeves a bit bigger and the ruffle I made it pleated. I also used striped fabric. I think this blouse looks cuter in stripped fabric.
Been at the hospital the past week sick with a virus and finally at home, getting some rest and watching ur vid feels me with so much inspiration... ur vids are always so soothing and inspirational... thankssssss Hugs from El Salvador
I think you could watch diy restoration videos for your sandals. I’ve seen sandals that look like yours be restored to new or take it to the cobbler if that’s easier. I think they just need to be repainted around the edges with polish maybe?
Love the jewelry Yes Earrings! Duper easy Now to make it a “ charm necklace” As you have time add a few dangling beads in colors you love All the diy was so fun!! Kuddos for sewing! I dont!!
The blouse turned out SO nicely!! You did an amazing job!😍 Also I sympathise about avoiding patterns: I am tempted to start colourwork knitting but the patterns intimidate so much I am considering creating my own 😅 Probably not wise, but oh well…
10:08 Most relatable thing ever - I never use patterns … I also do crochet but I have to follow RUclips visual tutorials cuz I am scared to read a pattern lmao
Ok but the Ganni blouse A++! somehow the unevenness of the ruffle makes it better imo (looks handmade but in a luxurious way?) Also thank you for the sewing inspo- I'm very heavily considering either hand-sewing or lugging out the 1960s sewing machine I have in storage to make a cute lil tie up peasant top of my own :')
this is so sweet, thank you so much!!! I'm choosing to see the lopsided-ness as an ~asymmetrical avant-garde sculptural design~ instead hahah. So glad this gave you some inspo, I hope it comes to fruition!
Yes, I upcycled a tee shirt and fabric into a dress instead of doing my schoolwork. I do it all the time.

yes DIY is IN!! we are Done with fast fashion, im so glad we’re moving into this era of crafting!!!
The little clay houses 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
I love them!!!
it would be very cute to attach the charms to a tie or a mini skirt creating a pattern :)
Or on a skirt like fringe…
omg GENIUS
yall are so smart
Would charms survive the skirts regular wear, tear, and care?
Probably not. if it was a skirt, it would have to be for special occasions only. A tie on the other hand... I also had the idea of putting them on a silk scarf to make a head wrap/neckerchief @@supernova622

one thought on charms: you could use nail polish to add some color
OMG the Ganni shirt is HEAT, you did amazing!!
For the charms: Earrings, cluster of charms or single; all you need is regular earring hooks, or hoop earings that have an open end you can slide a jump ring onto (my favorite!).

I COMPLETELY feel your sewing pattern fear, I am exactly like that, haha. These all turned out amazing :D
all the diys turned out so cute, but i have to say the clay magnets are my favourite! this definitely inspired me to get back into simple yet rewarding crafting!
just gotta give a round of applause for the way you persevered with that top! it turned out so cute!

I was going to say the same thing. It was making me crazy seeing the worn edges. Those shoes would look almost new with a little sharpie magic!
so cute can’t wait to try all these!! the shoes are my fave they’re giving 90s love interest with the little flowers
Soo cute!! You could use some black shoe polish to breathe some new life into the heels. Love the magnets they would make great gifts!
that is a great idea those shoes do need a little sprucing up haha. & omg i was thinking the same thing about the magnets! I got christmas next year COVERED
Black sharpie does wonders! @@beepwrld
you could make a tie up belt with charms attached as a unique accessory! you would just need some small eyelets and a cute tie belt... maybe some bigger loops too
You could sew some of the other charms on your maximalist blazer collar. 🎉
Even tracing the shirt onto paper and making your own pattern might have made the process easier, but the top turned out so cute!
I recommend using foundry wax to "distress" the charms! Will make them even more true vintage feel!
You could make bag charms with the leftover charms and earrings xx
everything looks amazing, but wow, that blouse!!!! it looks so amazing
The charms could look cool sewn on in like a pattern on sleeves of a jacket. I have a bomber jacket with plastic gems on the sleeves and the feel so luxe

For tiny details with paint I like to use a toothpick. It won’t act exactly like a paintbrush bc it’s rigid, but it works for some very small details!
Loved how they all turned out! One tip I use with black shoes is I re-color with permanent marker. 🖋👠
please liz im begging you pleeeeaaasse style those flower shoes with funky colorful socks or tights!!!!

this comments section is so inspiring I'm devouring these ideas!!!
You can hunt for vintage charms at thrift stores.
You can make charm bracelets, anklets, purse dangles and phone charms.
These all turned out SO GOOD 😭 the magnets were my fave they're so simple and cute

I'm obsessed with that fabric/pattern you chose for the shirt. I would snap up a blouse with green stripes like that immediately!!
all these items turned out so nice! 😍
I like the pearl necklace with the charms in your video. You could make that as well.
ooo I could, I ever have some beads that could work! love this idea thank you

I also never use patterns because I'm scared!! But also it's fun to make it up yourself (definitely harder tho) 🤠
I love the charm necklaces, they look so good!! I want to make one now ❤
I Love these kinds of Videos they give me so much Inspiration!
I'm so glad!!

you can also paint scratched parts of the shoes with nail polish or a black fabric marker 😁
Try black permanent marker on the scuffs at the edge of your shoes and they will look like new

thank you!!

How about using some charms as earrings, on a bracelet, at the ends of ribbons, on fringe???
Ok but the Ganni blouse A++! somehow the unevenness of the ruffle makes it better imo (looks handmade but in a luxurious way?)
