I should try this method!! I've been avoiding heat every since I got heat damage so I've never done a blow out or anything by myself but I think I might give this one a try!! :) if I want to stretch my hair, I usually braid it in sections and pin it across my head and let it dry overnight then I comb it out the next morning... also a long process haha
yeah I think that could possibly be how I started getting some breakage at the crown of my head. It's definitely a lot of stress on the hair and manipulation and it's a lot of work too!
@@andr3mma679I still continued to stretch my hair in a similar method before I would style my hair. It worked good for the most part, but I should’ve probably been doing more treatments to my hair to build the strength back after a while. Now I’m loc’ing my hair so I don’t do this anymore!
I've been blow drying with cool hair for the past few weeks and my hair loves it!! My hair doesn't feel as dry and brittle. I guess my cuticles are laying flatter.
I like this method. I just do the banding method. Man, there is so much i wish i knew before going natural. I big chopped twice because i had so many straight strands. Come to find out that's just how my hair rolls.
Jacqueline Brooks Yeah I've noticed a few naturals natural have straight strands and they thinks it damage but it's just their texture. Thanks for watching my video ✊
Thanks for sharing! I just started blow drying my hair. I use the low setting for about 1 min and then use the cool setting. Although it doesn’t get as straight as I would like it, but I’m very grateful because it helps me do my hair tremendously better and quicker too. Maybe later, I’ll build my hair up to get straighter, I just don’t want any heat damage
Love this!!! I tried doing this method today and it took forever to stretch just one section- possibly because I let my hair air dry completely in twists, so it had a set curl pattern from the twists. (Or maybe I just wasn’t using the right technique.) Next time I’ll see what happens if I wait until it’s about 75% dry, like you did.
Hey! Great video! Quick question: do you moisturize before or after the stretch? I'm definitely considering using this technique in my regimen. Thanks!
The blow dryer in this video: Red by Kiss 2200 Ceramic Tourmaline Dryer by Red Kiss Handle-Less Dryer Its pretty old model idk if they still sell it, but it comes with 3 comb attachments. Fine and wide tooth comb attachments.
I pat each sections of twist done to allow air drying to be faster (air drying takes like 15 ish minutes), then to blow dry is 30 mins. Sorry if this is too long for you, i'm use to it i guess. Wash day is a long process for me LOL

I tired doing that method a couple times, My hair does not like that at all. It was calling for breakage.

hey i know this comment is old, but how did that end up working for you?

Yes exactly. It's a longer process but worth it if you ask me

I'm definitely doing this and using a low heat flat iron. No more wet hair and tangles!
Such a difference! I'm going to start doing this!
Just started doing this today.. more tedious, but soooo much more softer and less drying🥰
I’m a fan of shrinkage!

Game changer! Sis I had no idea!! 🙏🏿👍🏿👏🏿
Nice method! Don't think I'd have the patience to blow dry on cold tho.
hahah that's okay. Sometimes I don't have patience either

Yeah this will only work if you leave ur hair damp. 75% dry is really important
@@MzKegz will it work if you only wet your hair 25%? that way you don't have to wait?
I’m going to try this today. Thank you for the video!
Glad it was helpful to you! How did it go?
Yassss beautiful thank you so much for this video! You answered literally every question I had 🖤🖤🖤🔥🙌🏾💪🏾
thank you this was dope and helpful doing this tomorrow
No problem!
Hey! Great video! Quick question: do you moisturize before or after the stretch? I'm definitely considering using this technique in my regimen. Thanks!
Cordilia Williams You should moisturize first! Thanks for watching
Does the rigidness goes away after a while?
I always let my hair air dry over night or when I’m out in the sun. And then I do this method. I love it.
Interesting, cold air still works after your hair is fully dried!?!?
Mz Kegz My hair still be a little damp, so it works. My hair would take a full day to dry on its own.
Is it really cold or is it a little bit hot like with some hair dryers ?
its cool air with some warmth if that makes sense
@@MzKegz
So it's medium ?
I love love love your hair 😘😘😘😘
Do you need to use a heat protectant?
I don’t think so
Nothing wrong in using one! You can use an anti humidity product that also acts like a heat protectant. I find that they help the hait lay "smoother".
Hi there, I'm looking for a blow dryer with a cold setting. What make was yours and did it come with a universally sized afro pick?

Thank you so much!
Lovely!
Thank you
great video
thank you!
Thanks!
hi, i love this video. btw how long does it take to blowdry one section ?
Blow dry time depends on you. I time it based on stretched and level of moisture left in my hair.
The drier your hair is the less time it takes. Make sure to squeeze out excess moisture with a t shirt/hair turban.

How long does it take for your hair to get 75% dry and blow dry?

Mz Kegz That doesn't sound too long at all!
I knew this had to be a thing
