I never liked the ideal of placing soft plastics in the Plano boxes individually. It just creates a mess if they get hot. Great video and have a awesome remainder of the week.

The way I have my plastics now is probably my favorite so far. I’ve tried the bags and shoeboxes but they just aren’t the best. Now I use an Ikea dresser and file them in the drawers like how you have the Strike King stuff. The plastic drawers work too but soft plastics are heavy and they warp the drawers. I also like the Plano box with no divider but I like the deep ones. You can get really cheap generic brand ones at outlet stores like Ross. You’ve got a nice collection there Debo, those Gander sales got you stocked up
I have friend that is a tournament pro bass fisherman and doesn’t have a fraction of the gear you have even with all the sponsor gear he gets for free. Waste of space and money,no way you ever possibly use all that stuff.
I am still getting my feet wet when it comes to fishing again and don’t have nearly the lure Arsenal that you have but you gave me a ton of ideas for how to store everything once my collection of baits outgrows my tackle bag.

Haha I just got a new backpack. The TW one. Loaded it up, picked it up and realized I was insane how heavy it was lol. And I did a lot of combo packing my soft plastics. Like lures with multiple colors in 1 bag. Aka 1/3 of a bag is 1 color. Good luck
Debo, I am primarily a bank fisher. I like the zip lock bag system for all of my plastics. I use the gallon size or the extra large (I think they call it the Turkey size) to organize by size and brand (keep the Z-Man away from the Senko’s and other plastics). I carry the gallon bag in my tackle bag that stays in my car. When I get to the spot I will convert them to a gallon or quart sized bag. This goes in my backpack or fanny pack-my most often carried pack. I can fit a couple gallon bags in my fanny pack with my other tackle. When I am done the plastics go back home in the primary bags. This allows me to take stock of what I used up and need to replace. This system has worked well for many years. As you said it is a matter of what you are used to. This year I am trying the rectangular boxes with a locking lid, I got some generic ones after watching BLat’s video on storing plastics. I have also had many come out of the bag twisted, bent or fused together. Many of us have quite a bit of money tied up in tackle way more than in rods and reels at least in my case.
I think you're on the right track Debo, I don't have near as much but I do use the plastic containers to stand up soft plastics, got them at the container store.
This made me feel so much better about my own tackle problems... Funny seeing this video with THOUSANDS of dollars of tackle from a guy who started another video I watched by saying "I am not a profressional angler" haha, thanks for making us all feel better. If my next girlfriend complains to me I will show her this.
Having stuff definitely does not make you a pro. I could have millions of dollars of basketball equipment and would be humiliated by any pro in the league. I still play recreational basketball and love it. Translates the same way to fishing. I'm a dude who loves to fish...and buy tackle during the winter 😂👊
I bought several smaller plastic totes with lids that fit into larger plastic totes. Organized all my soft plastics by type/style and labeled the smaller totes which I could fit 9 inside each larger tote. I live in northeast Indiana and inventory organization is how I keep from going crazy during the hard water season. Also my buddies meet up every month or so for bbq and we all bring lures to swap and sell. 😂
Wow ur my hero Debo with all your tackle I feel your pain I have the same problem but with tools I got stuff every where in my carport my parents garage my service truck my car the trunk and inside the car as well also inside the shed and inside the house and since I don’t buy tools anymore I buy tackle I get to your level one day I just got figure out how to do it and my wife don’t get upset the good think she likes to fish !

I use a pegboard for all my hard baits, terminal tackle, and stuff. I use those small plastic totes (shoebox size) for soft plastics. Keep each tote organized by type.

Your organization skills are strong! I organize by type of soft plastic then in alphabetical order. I keep baits in their original pack and those packs go in shoeboxes. I have lots of shoeboxes. It’s one of the only benefits of having a son with a sneaker addiction.
I like the plastics drawers idea I need to do that myself. I plan to build in my garage this spring a tackle corner and do something like what you have. And rod stand on the wall along with I need to get rod sleeves just waiting to find a good deal on them. Always enjoy the videos keep it up. Nice setup Debo!! I have started to organize too!! I’m using a set of shelves. I keep soft items in plastic shoe boxes with lids and hard baits in Plano, etc. but that may not last long. Then they will end up in shoe boxes too. And because they not be in a climate controlled space, I’ll be putting moisture absorbing packs in everything. That’s as far as i am.
Just love the Havoc soft baits. I get them at Wal Mart for cheap. Not to many choices. But the ones I love to use Texas rigged. Is there help on line for Fishing tackle Addiction. I believe Debo's might have it. Shawn

Thanks for the suggestions! I think you are ready to turn pro. I’m going to start using the gallon size plastic bags for soft plastics. I use the small plastic boxes that fit inside backpacks or tackle bags: one for top water, jigs, crankbaits, worms,etc. Wish I could help you with your organization issues- that is a lot of tackle!
This just gave me a reeaalllyyy good idea. Seriously someone who is good at this stuff take my idea I don’t care I’ll never have the skills or the wherewithall to make an app for this. But someone should make an app for fishing where you can type in conditions of weather and the body of water you’re fishing and then also what kind of baits/lures and rod and reel and line combos you have and what a good technique and combo would be. I mean there’s literally millions of combos you can make and there’s no way every one is gonna know how to fish every single rig or bait/lure. If someone could pull this off it’d be amazing

I really dig the reel collection!!!! The Fishing 13 & Lew's baitcasters says alot to me. I do like those 2 alot and plan to get more myself. I did take note on the Daiwa j braid. That's one I'm seriously considering. Since I do have Daiwa's reels of course I should be using it. Some old friends from back home swear by it. So I'm going look deeper at it for sure. Haha, I thought I had a problem. I work at Bass Pro part-time so I get all BPS and Cabelas items at 45% off. The other brands I get 15% off. At BPS, we have these plastic ammo cans that I purchased and I use them how you use the cardboard boxes. That seems to work for me when I am on "the go". Awesome video as always and a shout out to the NES system.

I have a Cabela's Catch All Tackle bag! It's not a Small bag Medium size I guess! I have roughly 10 Bags of plastics in the front pouch. I have 2 small totes from Walmart roughly the size of your Flambeau box with the handle for back up plastics! 3 Rod&Reel Combos for bank fishing! That works for me!

Nice conundrum, Debo! It’s the never ending battle of keeping stuff organized enough for easy access. I’ve gone with some larger Tupperware style bins for my soft plastics. Those I break down by style - creature bait, craw, paddle tail swimbait, etc - then by companies within a style. I alphabetize the company names, the styles within a category, and the colors for a given bait. Yes, I’m a geek. And I keep all my Elaztech stuff from Z Man in a separate bin so there are no mishaps. I met the Beast Coast folks at the World Fishing and Outdoor Expo last week. They’re some cool people. I made sure to tell them I found out about them from videos from you and Alex Rudd. I grabbed some of their new colors including a pearl with purple tint looking Marauder. They also shared some information on some projects that are coming down the pipeline. All I can say is, the new stuff is going to be right up your alley. I also got my deal of the year due to a tip from a Lew’s rep. He told me about a special on the ProTi reel, letting me grab it for $229. And the rep tossed in a free Lew’s boat bag. It was such a good deal, my didn’t mind me blowing my budget too much - I think its purple highlights won her over. Lol. Tight lines!

Thanks man. It has Great action at all speeds and a side to side roll. It's big but not too big with a different shape over most other keitech type swimbaits. I also caught my PB on it so I may be biased 🤣
Agree with your soft plastic comments. Mine are all in the bag in clear plastic tubs at home and in heavy duty ziplock bags on the boat. I used to put them in Plano boxes, but it takes too much room with multiple sizes, colors, and styles. The original bags and ziplocks compress to the needed size. I don’t however like the clamshell on the boat for the same reason. They take up too much room when not full and they tend to cut through the ziplocks.
Hey, Debo's went fishing this afternoon here in Urban Indy partly couldy 54 degrees. Caught five bass. One 3 pounder. Redeye Silver shad lead the way with a white smaller spinner bait in 2nd. Tried craw jig and craw trailer. Still to this date haven't caught one on a jig. Wind blowning in to south shore like your video. Fish are hitting off shore. Staging before spawn. Thanks for video. Didnt use a red or orange lipless bait. Saw a couple of silver shad last time out. Match the hatch! Son! Your info helped me know what to start with this season. I really liked the lipless bait you used. Winter is over I think! Nope it's going to get cold again and rain and snow. Everyone don't stop fishing because of the virus. I leave the soft plastics in their bags as well. The freezer bags are a really good idea I need to try. I have a ton of soft plastics as well. Love’s. It is fun to me to try different stuff. I haven’t come up with any fool proof method of organizing them. My organization doesn’t let me readily see what I have already bought so I buy the same colors more than once, ha! I am using different methods like you 🙂 , but haven’t hit on the ideal yet. Then again, can you have too many lures? Ha! Good video!
Debo, If you want to roadtrip this spring, I'm over in Des Moines. I've got a great pond 40 minutes south(my PB 7-4) and another 90 minutes west(15"+ crappie and 6+ bass), if you want to play.

I just got some binders to try. They seem logical but that doesn't always pan out in real life. I like the re-using cardboard box idea but that really only works for at home.
Damn, this viDebo made me feel good about my little box of mismatched stuff!😁 I use the plano boxes, cardboard boxes and I even have one of those containers that slide under the bed.
First off that is a ton of stuff. I could spend days looking through all of that haha. I think your drawer idea would work great for all of your soft plastics. Since they are stackable you can have pit bosses in one then grande bass in another and so on.
That original TMNT game CANNOT be underestimated. It's one of the toughest games I've ever played. I usually keep different setups so I will have equipment that is somewhat well rounded as I fish for bass, panfish, and walleye.

I use pegboards along with what you are doing. I put things I use a lot of on it so I can see in a glance what I have. It also makes cleanup of hardbaits easy because you can just hang them on the pegboard
In your video I noticed you had a Tackle Warehouse bag. How many 3700 series Plano waterproof boxes can you fit in the main compartment? I usually use 3600 series for the most part but am going to use my 3700 series more. Just wanted to know how many would fit. Thank you and keep the videos coming!! Video should be titled "I NEED tackle storage help!" I use the Berkley Soft Bait Binders for my plastics. I have one for worms, one for creature/craws, and a 3rd catchall. They are kind of expensive at $40 but they come with some baits so that's nice. Or you can find them on Ebay for cheaper (without the baits). Other than that you just need more boxes man!

Debo, I think a mix of the cardboard boxes for The house and the Plano boxes for your bag is the way to go. I have some loose in my Plano boxes and some still in the bags in both my backpack and my big bag that stays in the truck
Debo im planning on buying a storage bin from hoem depot and getting a storage bin divider so i can go to academy and fill up on crankbaits and zoom and berkley powerbaits. This was useful so thanks the time you invested in making this vid.
I use the 3700 Plano stowaway just line bags in 2 rows and pack them in but the clam shells I use a plastic tote with latches from walmart but the flambue is a nice choice. I really like the idea of the plastic drawer system I might have to invest in some. One thing that I do if I have more of one bait I do leave them in the box and open them only if i need them in my carry box.

I am still getting my feet wet when it comes to fishing again and don’t have nearly the lure Arsenal that you have but you gave me a ton of ideas for how to store everything once my collection of baits outgrows my tackle bag.
You don't need a ton of gear. Time on the water is the most important thing starting out. I hope this does give you some ideas for storage though!

Haha I just got a new backpack. The TW one. Loaded it up, picked it up and realized I was insane how heavy it was lol. And I did a lot of combo packing my soft plastics. Like lures with multiple colors in 1 bag. Aka 1/3 of a bag is 1 color. Good luck

I am primarily a bank fisher. I like the zip lock bag system for all of my plastics. I use the gallon size or the extra large (I think they call it the Turkey size) to organize by size and brand (keep the Z-Man away from the Senko’s and other plastics). I carry the gallon bag in my tackle bag that stays in my car. When I get to the spot I will convert them to a gallon or quart sized bag. This goes in my backpack or fanny pack-my most often carried pack. I can fit a couple gallon bags in my fanny pack with my other tackle. When I am done the plastics go back home in the primary bags. This allows me to take stock of what I used up and need to replace. This system has worked well for many years. As you said it is a matter of what you are used to. This year I am trying the rectangular boxes with a locking lid, I got some generic ones after watching BLat’s video on storing plastics. I have also had many come out of the bag twisted, bent or fused together. Many of us have quite a bit of money tied up in tackle way more than in rods and reels at least in my case.
I like the baggie ideas. Always gotta have extras stored in the car!

I think you're on the right track Debo, I don't have near as much but I do use the plastic containers to stand up soft plastics, got them at the container store.

Funny seeing this video with THOUSANDS of dollars of tackle from a guy who started another video I watched by saying "I am not a profressional angler" haha, thanks for making us all feel better. If my next girlfriend complains to me I will show her this.
Having stuff definitely does not make you a pro. I could have millions of dollars of basketball equipment and would be humiliated by any pro in the league. I still play recreational basketball and love it. Translates the same way to fishing. I'm a dude who loves to fish...and buy tackle during the winter 😂👊

I bought several smaller plastic totes with lids that fit into larger plastic totes. Organized all my soft plastics by type/style and labeled the smaller totes which I could fit 9 inside each larger tote. I live in northeast Indiana and inventory organization is how I keep from going crazy during the hard water season. Also my buddies meet up every month or so for bbq and we all bring lures to swap and sell. 😂

I use a pegboard for all my hard baits, terminal tackle, and stuff. I use those small plastic totes (shoebox size) for soft plastics. Keep each tote organized by type.

Your organization skills are strong! I organize by type of soft plastic then in alphabetical order. I keep baits in their original pack and those packs go in shoeboxes. I have lots of shoeboxes. It’s one of the only benefits of having a son with a sneaker addiction.

I like the plastics drawers idea I need to do that myself. I plan to build in my garage this spring a tackle corner and do something like what you have. And rod stand on the wall along with I need to get rod sleeves just waiting to find a good deal on them. Always enjoy the videos keep it up. I throw all my soft plastics in zip locks and all my treble hooked baits in the Plano boxes. Oh yeah I just bought an Omen black and a 13 fishing inception. Can't wait to throw some lures. Another Gem Debo good stuff man.

Nice setup Debo!! I have started to organize too!! I’m using a set of shelves. I keep soft items in plastic shoe boxes with lids and hard baits in Plano, etc. but that may not last long. Then they will end up in shoe boxes too. And because they not be in a climate controlled space, I’ll be putting moisture absorbing packs in everything. That’s as far as i am.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think you are ready to turn pro. I’m going to start using the gallon size plastic bags for soft plastics. I use the small plastic boxes that fit inside backpacks or tackle bags: one for top water, jigs, crankbaits, worms,etc. Wish I could help you with your organization issues- that is a lot of tackle!

This just gave me a reeaalllyyy good idea. Seriously someone who is good at this stuff take my idea I don’t care I’ll never have the skills or the wherewithall to make an app for this. But someone should make an app for fishing where you can type in conditions of weather and the body of water you’re fishing and then also what kind of baits/lures and rod and reel and line combos you have and what a good technique and combo would be. I mean there’s literally millions of combos you can make and there’s no way every one is gonna know how to fish every single rig or bait/lure. If someone could pull this off it’d be amazing

I must admit, I might be jealous though. Once upon a time, I had one hell of a collection & I put it all on peg boards. Your collection of reels and braided line is staggering. I really dig the reel collection!!!! The Fishing 13 & Lew's baitcasters says alot to me. I do like those 2 alot and plan to get more myself. I did take note on the Daiwa j braid. That's one I'm seriously considering. Since I do have Daiwa's reels of course I should be using it. Some old friends from back home swear by it. So I'm going look deeper at it for sure. Haha, I thought I had a problem. I work at Bass Pro part-time so I get all BPS and Cabelas items at 45% off. The other brands I get 15% off. At BPS, we have these plastic ammo cans that I purchased and I use them how you use the cardboard boxes. That seems to work for me when I am on "the go". Awesome video as always and a shout out to the NES system.

I have a Cabela's Catch All Tackle bag! It's not a Small bag Medium size I guess! I have roughly 10 Bags of plastics in the front pouch. I have 2 small totes from Walmart roughly the size of your Flambeau box with the handle for back up plastics! 3 Rod&Reel Combos for bank fishing! That works for me!

Nice conundrum, Debo! It’s the never ending battle of keeping stuff organized enough for easy access. I’ve gone with some larger Tupperware style bins for my soft plastics. Those I break down by style - creature bait, craw, paddle tail swimbait, etc - then by companies within a style. I alphabetize the company names, the styles within a category, and the colors for a given bait. Yes, I’m a geek. And I keep all my Elaztech stuff from Z Man in a separate bin so there are no mishaps.
I met the Beast Coast folks at the World Fishing and Outdoor Expo last week. They’re some cool people. I made sure to tell them I found out about them from videos from you and Alex Rudd. I grabbed some of their new colors including a pearl with purple tint looking Marauder. They also shared some information on some projects that are coming down the pipeline. All I can say is, the new stuff is going to be right up your alley.
I also got my deal of the year due to a tip from a Lew’s rep. He told me about a special on the ProTi reel, letting me grab it for $229. And the rep tossed in a free Lew’s boat bag. It was such a good deal, my didn’t mind me blowing my budget too much - I think its purple highlights won her over. Lol. Tight lines!

Thanks man. It has Great action at all speeds and a side to side roll. It's big but not too big with a different shape over most other keitech type swimbaits. I also caught my PB on it so I may be biased 🤣
Agree with your soft plastic comments. Mine are all in the bag in clear plastic tubs at home and in heavy duty ziplock bags on the boat. I used to put them in Plano boxes, but it takes too much room with multiple sizes, colors, and styles. The original bags and ziplocks compress to the needed size. I don’t however like the clamshell on the boat for the same reason. They take up too much room when not full and they tend to cut through the ziplocks.

Hey, Debo's went fishing this afternoon here in Urban Indy partly couldy 54 degrees. Caught five bass. One 3 pounder. Redeye Silver shad lead the way with a white smaller spinner bait in 2nd. Tried craw jig and craw trailer. Still to this date haven't caught one on a jig. Wind blowning in to south shore like your video. Fish are hitting off shore. Staging before spawn. Thanks for video. Didnt use a red or orange lipless bait. Saw a couple of silver shad last time out. Match the hatch! Son! Your info helped me know what to start with this season. I really liked the lipless bait you used. Winter is over I think! Nope it's going to get cold again and rain and snow. Everyone don't stop fishing because of the virus. I leave the soft plastics in their bags as well. The freezer bags are a really good idea I need to try. I have a ton of soft plastics as well. Love’s. It is fun to me to try different stuff. I haven’t come up with any fool proof method of organizing them. My organization doesn’t let me readily see what I have already bought so I buy the same colors more than once, ha! I am using different methods like you 🙂 , but haven’t hit on the ideal yet. Then again, can you have too many lures? Ha! Good video!

I just got some binders to try. They seem logical but that doesn't always pan out in real life. I like the re-using cardboard box idea but that really only works for at home.

First off that is a ton of stuff. I could spend days looking through all of that haha. I think your drawer idea would work great for all of your soft plastics. Since they are stackable you can have pit bosses in one then grande bass in another and so on.

That original TMNT game CANNOT be underestimated. It's one of the toughest games I've ever played. I usually keep different setups so I will have equipment that is somewhat well rounded as I fish for bass, panfish, and walleye.

I use pegboards along with what you are doing. I put things I use a lot of on it so I can see in a glance what I have. It also makes cleanup of hardbaits easy because you can just hang them on the pegboard

In your video I noticed you had a Tackle Warehouse bag. How many 3700 series Plano waterproof boxes can you fit in the main compartment? Video should be titled "I NEED tackle storage help!" I use the Berkley Soft Bait Binders for my plastics. I have one for worms, one for creature/craws, and a 3rd catchall. They are kind of expensive at $40 but they come with some baits so that's nice. Or you can find them on Ebay for cheaper (without the baits). Other than that you just need more boxes man!

Debo im planning on buying a storage bin from hoem depot and getting a storage bin divider so i can go to academy and fill up on crankbaits and zoom and berkley powerbaits. This was useful so thanks the time you invested in making this vid.

I use the 3700 Plano stowaway just line bags in 2 rows and pack them in but the clam shells I use a plastic tote with latches from walmart but the flambue is a nice choice. I really like the idea of the plastic drawer system I might have to invest in some. One thing that I do if I have more of one bait I do leave them in the box and open them only if i need them in my carry box.
The drawers work well so far...as long as they don't warp...🤔
