To be frugal. Pillow case zipper bags, and sheet bags. The clear plastic bag that comes with them is thick and durable. It's not waterproof so only good for truck and home storage. But it's a good way to make use of something you'd normally throw away

I spent quite a lot of time, organizing tackle this year with the thing out there, I used alot of Plano Stowaway boxes different sizes, picked up tackle box bags that would hold all containers, the biggest thing I found to help was a labeler to help me with all my tackle groupings. Have fun and good luck.

Stacks and stacks of Plano utility boxes and a pile of sharpies to label them with. After all these years I figure there should be a parking space at the Plano factory with my name on it. When I head to the lake I just take a tackle bag that holds three 3700 boxes with lures, terminal tackle and plastics in the side pockets. Still would like to see a video on how you pack/use your TW backpack. Oh, and it looks like you still need a few more reels😁.

  • @steve4321able
    @steve4321able 3 года назад

I bank fish and use a backpack for most of my hard baits, tools and such. Then I have a large Plano soft bag and I keep most of my soft baits organized by type in ziplock bags. that way I can stack plastics and move them out of the way quickly and put them back. My main issue was rooting through a bag looking for small packs of a certain bait. The ziplocks solved that. I know the type of bait in each ziplock and if your in a hurry, just fold it over and put it back no need to keep zipping them up. Basically keeps a big mess into an easier mess. Bank fishing is the hardest to organize especially when you are carrying 7 rods, 15 pounds of plastics and 30 pounds on your back. Every time I try to put together a small bag I always end up needing something that I left at home.

  • @Roboworm99

All my plastics stay in original bags. I use Bass Pro and Tackle Tour Binders. Sorted by type of bait or techniques. I then keep backups in shoe boxes by style and also the Bassmaster bags you get with membership

I have some OCD issues, so this is what I use for Soft Plastics:
I go to Walmart or Dollar General and purchase the small shoe-size plastic storage containers. I label them with the type of lure (use a Labelmaker) that is inside: Craw/Creature, Finesse Worm, Senko, Ned Trailers, Tubes, etc. In each container, I organize the lures alphabetically by brand and by color. My panfish box is the exception: It has a mix, so I organize them by type and then by brand/color.
Since I mostly fish creeks, I decide what I'm taking, grab those and put them in my sling pack and off I go for the day/evening.

Great overview Debo, but I'm not gonna lie, my jansport back pack holds a couple of 3700 boxes and any loose stuff I need for a day of bank fishing (packs of soft plastics, tackle, tools and whatnot). I do tend to use large zip-locs like your TW bags for storage at home along with a ton of various sized planos however. 🎣

I appreciate this video. I'm in the process of finding the best way to store extra baits. I am trying not to buying a bunch of random baits that I may never use but stick with ones that have worked for me in a few key colors. I don't like taking a big tackle box out in my boat since I don't change lures much. Right now I am using a big old plastic tackle box that holds the plastic lure boxes on the boat and clear plastic shoeboxes and zip freezer bags at home for extras. I've been going slow on buying storage until I figure out what I really need and want. I think I will go with a medium tackle bag that holds the lure boxes so I can switch out the boxes depending on the season. You have some good ideas. It's always good to know about the options available. Thanks, Debo!

I like the tackle-boxes for storage of my hard and soft baits ( Plano, Flambeau, Meiho or .....)These hard-baits can be individual or stacked in EACH compartment (when there are multiple hard-baits i apply hook bonnets/ covers) I’ve got numerous stacks of boxes from each of the earlier mentioned brands. The soft baits storage has changed recently bc more and more found myself fiddling with those ziplock bags. When you have to get a new bait many times with short intervals they get a pain in the ass when you close the bag every time (or they dry out Brrrrr) So i found myself buying new size boxes (to identify the fishing techniques) and take a supply of some soft baits of a certain brand and fill a compartment with them ( Brand specific so odours and/or liquids do NOT mix). And by doing so pay attention how they are placed (Not folded) If i feel the need to contain the baits (the compartment is to large for the few (last) baits) then i put i some homemade dividers which i cut out myself from see true plastic that some brands do deliver with their soft baits (Westin does with their shads). I restrain them so to speak. When the bags are filled with liquids i use rubber sealed boxes to store the baits if no liquids among the baits then it’s an ‘ordinary’ box in 3700 or equivalent size
Moneybags are used to store small soft plastics (like worms) but i only have a low quantity I like them bc they have this slider left/right to open them. Quick and easy with a Retractor attached to my Kayak. I can get some technique specific equipment together.
Don’t like those (soft) worm bags with zippers They have the wrong criteria.
Until next time Debo my Feeeeeeshing friend. We are still Feeeeeeeeeshing in NW- Europe with NO ice until Christmas or sometimes even January (happy times these months)

Hey Debo. Great video man. I don't have quite the collection of gear, baits, and tackle as you, but I organize it in a similar fashion. I use the cheap plastic shoe boxes to store my Zoom, RI, Zman, etc in at home. I use Flambeau boxes for hooks, cranks, jigs, etc. When I go fishing, I take a Hefty bag, one or two gallon, and fill it with whatever I plan on fishing with that day. So a mix of Flambeau boxes, and a Hefty bag filled with plastics, spinner baits, etc. and I am ready to go. Thanks for the cool content, and you aren't some dummy from Iowa. Much appreciated man! 🤘😷

I picked up some of these PVC made document bags off Amazon from a company called EEOUT. Can't recommend enough, got 24 super durable bags for like $13. They are the perfect size for my backpack. I put craws in one, worms in one, etc. And just write on the bag in the direction they go in the backpack. The company makes bigger bags, too. These things are so durable and I'd recommend them to everyone. Especially at the price!

A 3 ring binder with large plastic pencil pouches. You can organize all the soft plastic bags that way. Each binder gets several large plastic pencil holders (the largest size like 8" x 11") and then that binder holds worms, another binder just craw or creature baits, another has keitech or other paddle tails....and with school around the corner, its very cheap.

Green pumpkin and purple flake?... Sounds like you would find a way to get by if you were stuck and could only use Dirty Wizard Sweet Beavers. ;o)
And I agree with the bigger plastic bags. Been using the 6th Sense bag to carry my soft plastic bags, all fitting into a small tackle bag. Super easy to throw a bag over the shoulder and carry a couple of rods as you bop around the pond looking for fish from the bank.

Love the videos sir. Things are about wound down here in Michigan until the hard water arrives, so I'm planning on organizing all of my tackle here soon. I'm thinking of going with a new strategy and following your lead (less in hand but keeping stuff in the truck). To organize my soft plastics I found a couple of my wifes sewing boxes. They fit the packages perfectly and the top portion has room for weights and hooks.

Probably if you gave some away it would be easier to organize :-) Then maybe I'd need to organize some too. I store my extra tackle in the tackle warehouse box it ships in... plastics fit perfectly in their small box (still in bag). Then I just throw whichever in my backpack that I am taking with me to a given lake.

I organize my fishing gear during the winter time since I don’t ice fish. Better question is where did you store all of your rod and reels since you have a few reel boxes in the background?

Cabelas has $12.99 camo gear bags. Great for soft bait packages and anything else. Throw my trout lure boxes in too

One thing that I've seen and want to try is a soft plastic binder

I like the KVD speed bag, many times I’ll use it as my tackle bag on quick trips 🤓

How do I keep my tackle organized? I'm only allowed to have what will fit in my backpack. Otherwise I get yelled at for having too much "fishing junk" 😂😂

Hi Debo! I've got some large plastic Plano boxes holding my soft plastic in their own
    bags, you've just shown me
(Or it's just stuck)how to keep
them in square bags. It also
Just registered with me about the larger Bass Mafia bags!
    Thank You
