There was a huge backlash from Disney fans when they dropped Fast Pass to implement Genie. A lot of people that already stretch their dollar as far as they could to even get to the park feel abandoned. If Universal was to implement something like Fast Pass, that would be a nail in the coffin. I've heard rumors of a virtual queue which is cool. But make it exactly like Fast Pass and really send it home that USO cares about their guests more than Disney.

Ditto. Until your kids are 10+ it’s hard to beat Disney. I think by Universal adding another park it’ll drive competition in the fact that with three parks it’ll be easier to do a whole week of universal versus hopping to Disney for a couple of days.

For many parents who are in their 20s & 30s right now, if the choice comes down to paying an arm & a leg to take their kids on a traditional Disney World vacation with all the bells & whistles versus paying a more reasonable price to stay at a Universal hotel & go on rides like Hagrid's, Donkey Kong, Starfall Racers...yeah, I think many of them are going to choose the latter.
If Disney can't prove to this new generation of parents & kids that their parks are worth the extra cost & advance planning needed versus Universal, then it's gonna be a tough sell for those that aren't hardcore Disney IP fans.

I think Universal is in a good spot to overtake Disney at Florida. Ten years ago it was unthinkable. I think it is more of a weakness of Disney than Universal sudden genius.
Disneys first mistake was go all in on streaming. Disney+ was a mistake. Streaming has put their company at risk financially. Bob Iger seems to sacrifice all parts of his company to prop up his streaming service.
Disneys second problem is their political stuff. Disney has turned "woke" for the lack of a better word. Disney has an activist problem. Disney implies that a large part of its costumers are bad people. But Disney is more than happy to work with china. Chinese dictators are fine people, but Disney draws the line at conservative americans?
The parks are now there to prop up the rest of the company. They are overpriced and overcrowded. New attractions are more advertisment billboards for their latest Disney+ product than a geniune experience. Instead of solving the crowd issue, they try to capitalize on it.

As someone who attended Disney World most years between 1977 when I was 12 years old until 2016 and Universal 2002-present, I 100% agree with you. While Disney has been raising prices astronomically, changing rides and movies that have been loved by people of all races for generations, and foolishly delving into politics and lecturing fans (Disney's core problem that no one wants to talk about), Universal has simply stuck to providing everyone with a quality product that brings all people together free of political dogma. Since Disney refuses to change back to simply selling us their services and products, their market share has dwindled and Universal is wisely taking advantage of it. Ride for ride and dollar for dollar (IMO), Universal is already a better value for families. When Epic Universe is finished, it will be the best theme park ever built. That will be Disney's death nail. Their self righteous arrogance will kill them. The ONLY hope that Disney has is that Disney Shareholders/Board of Directors completely gut middle and upper management. The entire culture that exists at the moment at Disney has to be totally eliminated. Even then, it will take a long time for Disney to win back fans (including my family and me), a company that, for now, very openly supports the sexualization of children. The trust has been severed and will not soon be healed. I'm just wrapping up an Orlando trip to Universal/SeaWorld and my whole family and I will be visiting Epic Universal in October 2025. Disney will soon reap what it has sown and Universal (and us) will benefit from it. Great video. Thanks for posting.

lmao maybe you haven't seen UO ticket prices its the same..... "Universal is already a better value for families" hmm weird most family's with you anger kids can't do majority of rides together. The only self righteous arrogance is this post lmao. You do realize these two resorts are not in competition with each other, Universal is after family with teens and young adults, Disney is after entire families who can do things together from grandma to a toddler.
You said Disney was "changing rides and movies that have been loved by people of all races for generations" is this your first time at Universal? they replace literally almost every ride Avery 10-12 years, twister, jaws, back to the future, nickelodeon studios,. blue man group, Disaster!, wet and wild, Kong frontation, jimmy neutron, Dragon Challenge, Shrek 4-D, Poseidon's Fury, FEAR FACTOR LIVE, idk I could go on forever, generally speaking nearly everything in Magic kingdom s the same since I was a kid. Sure Disney refreshes some ride but staples of the park have not changed. ITs only Hollywood Studios that has been fully revamped since its original opening.
MK had alone had 5 million more visitors than UO. For most people UO is a one and done park, it's why most people only leave a day orb two for or if even go at all. I've also worked for corporate for both companies, I can tell you no one I ever worked with was even pationate about the brand unlike when I worked at Disney.

A waste of time to think that one theme park will bring down the number one vacation destination in the world. I admit that Epic Universe looks incredible and I'm sure we'll be an amazing theme park and it may very well affect Disney with some lost of attendance revenue. But to think it's going to destroy us foolish. Disney has over 100 years with 4 to 5 generations of family who have admired it. Disney theme parks are the gold standard around the world and continue to be the most visited theme parks on Earth. The difference between Universal and Disney is that Disney is a loved company. Not very many companies in this world are loved. Yes, there are ups and downs throughout the years just like any company but Disney is loved. Disney is after entire familys having rides they can all do together (generations)n and is after the emotions. This is from a marketing, ride development and IP used in the parks. There is little to absolutely nothing for a kid under 5 todo at UOR period, and the things they have only interest younger kids and not the whole family. This is done intentionally. Not to mention form a technology perspective UOR is so behind, they still have will call, paper fast pass and disability services, photos that don't auto sync to you r account, they are very very behind, not to mention team members are generally just not pleasant .
