Improviso No.2, Op.36, em Fá sustenido maior, de Frédéric Chopin, interpretado por Nelson Freire.
Gravação realizada ao vivo durante recital em Passau, Alemanha, em 22 de junho de 1997.
O Projeto Nelson Freire consiste em uma ampla iniciativa do Instituto Piano Brasileiro - IPB para se reunir o gigantesco repertório que Nelson deixou gravado, transformando cada gravação em vídeos-partituras inéditos, para que pianistas e apreciadores em geral possam conhecer em profundidade a arte deste grande mestre do piano brasileiro, acompanhando cada obra com sua respectiva partitura.
The Nelson Freire Project is a broad initiative by the Brazilian Piano Institute to gather Freire's gigantic recorded repertoire, transforming each recording into new video-scores, so that pianists and admirers in general can get to know in depth the art of this great master from Brazil's pianistic tradition, accompanying each work with its respective score.

This a beautiful piece by Chopin but it's exquisite beauty lies on the very top of the pianist ability to play evenly and pearly notes and rare is any performance can do it justice (including this one falls short).
I think this piece is for the musicians at heart who will discern the hidden beauty beyond the pianist imperfect playing and will imagine the beauty of the piece as it would be in Chopin's hand.
Especially those who have studied this piece know how beautiful it is in their inner ear and how difficult it is to be able to play those longer garlands of pearls evenly with the right rubato and dynamics. Honestly no pianist has been able to do this yet as it is one of those piece that require Pleyel 1840.
Don't you think Nelson Freire didnt study this beautiful impromptu? The left hand melody was clearly brought out during the fast runs in the right hand. Besides that Nelson was a great Chopin player. So don't understand your critic notes.
@@pghagen Your question does not make sense, he is playing the piece so of course he studied it. Bringing out the left hand doesn't make up for the right hand.
