I am for that one, say not to managerial roles as a young academic, one mistake I made was to take over a broad management role, It became overwhelming and I had to put on hold my Ph.D. studies. I learned from my mistake. Thank you for this informative session Prof and your guest
Thank you for this interesting session. Just to confirm if i hered correctly that Prof said its possible to present one paper at two different conferences, local and international, is that what he said? Because normally some conferences will state in the call to say that your work should not have been presented at any conference. Please clarify for me. Thanks
Yes, I heard so too. Perhaps, the aim is to get feedback that would improve the paper. I personally prefer sending a paper to a peer-reviewed journal to conference presentations. I am yet to be convinced on reasons for attending conferences apart from networking. Thus far, I presented to 3 conferences, different papers and received no feedback at all. However, feedback from peer-reviews has been great to me in most instances.

Great advice from all participants; thank you for this. Say no to managerial positions as a young researcher.
