After this interview, hearing John Kani's voce saying "Welcome to black excelence" hits different 🤞🏽. When Mac said fact checker looks like she is having an orgasm listening to Prof, I was feeling something similar, lol. This is another reminder that BLACK, INDEED IS POWERFUL. Well done P&C team 👏
One comment from the Prof says as leaders or people of influence you should not irresponsibly say things because someone looks up to you out there. I like that. I love it. Don't be the only rep of black excellence. Build continuity through choices of words and actions.
She is right, I joined UCT with no history of getting 50%,I was flowing on 90 - 100% from my undergrad Varsity, it was my first time getting a 50% when I was at UCT, it was then I realized that UCT is a real deal, studying there is really a day n night deal, but thanks God I made it afterwards.
I studied a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree at University of Cape Town for 5 years. The lectures during my time were racist particularly there was one Indian his name was Prof. Marcus who was a pure racist. In my thesis was supervised by Prof. Tait who was the head of the department at my time he was very truthful in regards to my potential. I went on to secure a work through him with Prof. Benet assistance.
They were not easily approachable and one time we had a problem with a question then decided to approach a lecture. He refused to help as he said we didn't set up an appointment but a white student went in without an appointment.Though after a student did share the solution with us.
Its sad that people might miss this interview because she's not a typical celebrity, but honestly this has been one of the best interviews on the podcast! Like what an amazing woman wow!!! So inspired!!
Oh my word. Prof Phakeng intimately understands the plight of black students at UCT. If you know the A-levels vs public school education struggle and the impact it has on your self esteem in first year, you have actually spoken to students
Prof is literally the woman she think she is. A very informative interview. This is by far the best interview so far. Black studio, keep it up and to Sol and MacG, blessings magents.
Prof Phakeng is a force to recon with, we still need her skills in our academia. Well done to what she has achieved thus far - pure black excellence!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Prof MaMokgethi answers questions so well thought out, she is well a educated woman, gives me Jordan Peterson vibes. She chooses her words carefully, because she knows the affects.
This mama she's beautiful, happy, knowledgeable, fun, has sense of humor, well educated, you can tell she has lots of money 😅. What a true all rounder 😍😭
This was the kind of episode that proved that Mac and Sol are broadcasters cause it was a proper "13PG" interview as no profanities were used except when Mac said "Fuck Adriaan/Basson". It seems like Mac and Sol behaves according to the guest's demeanor and I'm sure they're able to pick that up before they start recording. As for Prof she's well spoken and this is her interview where she didn't interrupt her interviewer often even her tone was cool, calm and collected cause at the other interview I've seen her she came across fierce. I think we must have her back one day as she's worth listening to.
My mathematics teacher used to say to me "Look at mathematics as a language rather than a subject...." I still suck at it but you can never confuse me.... . So I had a great teacher 😊
Olden day parents sacrificed everything for children to go to school, everything came to a standstill for children to go to school! That was beautiful,we should copy that.
Everything about this woman... How she articulates herself, her reputation, her success in her career, everything she is, is everything I am inspired by.
Most of people with such titles and academic accolades live in their own world, but Prof Phakeng lives with people, with the understanding of the communities she serves...hence she could easily transcend from the picket line to the boardroom...wooow!! what a phenomenal human... thoroughly enjoyed this interview, cracking with laughter in between...🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏
Something shocked me on Thursday.. A security at our office park was busy watching this episode while I was waiting by the boom gate... Shock of my life that he watches Podcast and Chill 😳😳
"They are all scared of you, don't be scared of them, whatever context you walk into, they are scared of you don't be scared of them and if you think that way, you'll have all the confidence to do anything that you want to do" 🔥🔥 -Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng.

Damn - I really hope to one day grow into my own and be so profound in my own strength and wisdom that I ooze so much strength, beauty and dignity as Prof❤ She is so mesmerizing and just amazing nje
The part of the interview around University first year student experiences brings back memories. The playing field is never fair game, we are always chasing and working uphill. Always unprepared for academic battle…
First and foremost I just got my 6 months badge, feels good being a chiller good people...thank you for the team on inviting Proff Phakeng learned a lot today.
Took me 4 attempts to watch this episode, I'm glad I made sure that I restarted it and gave it my full attention. What an inspirational and motivational lady, she makes her achievements feel so easy too, I love that and am inspired by that.
Okay Prof is definitely the lady she think she is and yes they're afraid of her. Loved the episode and please she must come back. P&C team please invite her proper for our 1Milli, it will be special to share the moment with her, plus she's a vibe man, i love her.

She made me feel important and appreciated by thanking me for my work. She is amazing.

S/o to Karabo Edgar Molelekoa...my friend called me to notify me that my favorite VC is on #PodcastAndChill... This lady is a super human being❤️ I'll continue giving her, her flowers whilst she's still alive.
Love her energy🙌🏾 she still has a lot to offer our country. she represented herself and marginalized ppl well. Can we please not forget that she's not the 1st black VC at UCT, 1996-2000 we had Dr Mamphela Ramphela, 2000-2008 we had Njabulo Ndebele. Sometimes I get the feeling that some ppl think she's the 1st, hhay kabi..
I cant stop watching this podcast ,words are not enough to explain the joy it brings to mu heart.Thank u Mac G ,Sol and the team Mme Mokhethi is de whole package.Very inspiring.keep up the good work.
"A purpose driven life" is what she lives. "They are scared of you more than you are scared of them," yhuu this is definitely becoming my daily mantra. My entire spirit is revived after losing myself for years. The confidence, "NOT ARROGANCE," in that statement, is absolutely powerful. 💗❤🔥 I'm Inspired. #PodcastAndChill
