I'm Kenyan and I love loooooove Dawn! I enjoy South African content ALOT! I'm learning to embrace and consult my ancestors through watching South African content. I'm so grateful. As an African woman I'm so happy seeing a fellow African woman being her authentic self! King David, you're a wonderful host! Thank you Dawn for gracing our screens all the way in East Africa❤❤
Mashabela podcast is like me going for a therapy session. Some of the guests he brings to the studio have done numerous interviews already. Kodwa David has a way of having a fulfilling chat with them, it's always like a first time 👏🏾
Lo mama madoda. I started watching her kuZalo and been following her career ever since. She plays her roles so well. Acting as if akasazi isilungu and wow Her eloquence in English is amazing. Stay blessed mama DT
From the day I first saw her, I’ve always known that she is of greater descendant. She is Royal throughout, her mom, father, dad you can even tell by how she carries herself. Truly greater than the normal human. Oh Lord I love how she explained the connection of God and ancestors. God is something greatly greatly respected. This modern world of western religion takes everything lightly. Everything is questionable and everything can be touched or reached. Oh Mama Dawn❤ I absolutely love love love this interview.
Am a kenyan I don't know how I found myself on this platform but I love every bit of this interview, am glad they are doing it in English even though some are in SA language but I can still ge it. Something we have forgot about as African is our ancestors alot don't practice it and we have lost little bit af touch with Everything. I must go back to my roots and start practice this , my grandfather was a traction healer I wish I was close to him to learn .
She is beautiful, I love the way she speaks, I love the way she tells the story, I love the way she dresses and most importantly I feel like she is been honest with all the questions Mr D asked, she is just being herself manh and I love that. God bless you mamzo 😊
There is a bit of a resemblance to Jill Scott. They have a similar breathtaking and bewitching smile that just melts the heart. On a serious note, she is full of wisdom.
Yaze yangihealer le-interview. I related to so much that she spoke about in terms of one always remembering ukuth ingane yethongo is just a vessel and to always remain humble. Nokuthi there are certain things one goes through in life that will build you for your next phase in life. For eg: uSis Dawn starting out with working at Shaka Land and then being one of the dominant leads in Shaka: Ilembe. Shaka Ilembe was a spiritual show for me because I got to see and understand what our people went through kudala eNdalo and also getting to know the history of our Fore-Fathers ngakho ke sithi," Thokoza Makhosi, Mawande umsebenzi wakho nezimfundiso zakho Dawn Thandeka King. Amen!
I love the way King David,is so passionate about what he is doing. He take these conversations to other level. He make sure that he ask all necessary questions,he listen carefully. We always think we know these guest, but when they leave the room, thats when we can begin to say,we know them. I even love that his episodes are long,he take time. I just listen when I cook, clean,or on the road. I love it..Thanx Tante Mashabela.
Wow what an amazing interview!!! Her first born attended the same High School (Germiston Hgh) with my son and he used to tell me when he saw her on Uzalo. She took me down memory lane when she spoke about Protea Hotel Shakaland. I was so heartbroken when I heard that it shut down because I wanted to visit with my boys. We still refer to you as uMangcobo. I grew up in KwaMashu. Thank you MaNgcobo for sharing your talent with the world.
😂😂😂😂😂 Mr Leaf🙈i was also a big thorn for him in Geography😂😂😂😂 he said the same. Proud to report that i am Executive and have a PhD❤teachers need to be patient and understand each child for who they are.
I watched yesterday and couldn't finish it cz I suddenly became emotional, cried historically. Shivering I nearly went to. A hospital due to. Shortness of breath. Here I am. To. Finish it up I'm teary already
Watching you from Botswana ,4 hours is not a joke !! But was Very patient and eager to hear the whole session till the end. Much Respect to Dawn Thandeka King❤
When she speaks about the sadness from grief, I felt that. I've been sad ever since my Dad died in 2017. The sadness never leaves. Even while typing this, I want to cry.
I know exactly how that feels.mine passed 2021,I have never been the same.some days are better that others but the sadness definitely lingers. God will see us through Lwazi, hang in there mama❤❤❤
What I like about this interview, the Guest is much open she's flowing with her story, the questions are asked because David have too. All the Best both of you.
One thing about him, neh, he's matured. Believe me, he laughs about the trends on radio e.g dr Matthew however, he won't give him a platform simply because there's nothing he'd like to discuss with him.
Wow sis Thandeka when you sang those songs especially the one of the draught and the chanting kinda song wow I got goosebumps and you took me to another place just for a second.
This is the first time I listened to this lady ,when I was listening i could feel like I'm olso a sangoma ,and I was scared. And i stopped ,her voice is strong.
Thanks King David N# bringing my woman I Love le Mama, when she appears in new roll maybe am outside/bathroom My wife will call me(Lovey umuntu wakho naye ukhona woza) 2nd I like your style of interviewing U don't take the center of attraction. Your style it's about the interviewie. Keep it up Ndodana.
A brilliant interview ! Another one ke👏🏾👏🏾 3:50:13 I can relate to Dawn’s early experience of going to an English medium school after a Zulu medium school, in reverse. We went to English Medium schools from preschool in the 60s … the challenge was fitting in in the townships & rural homes when we visited over holidays 🤦🏾♀️ Yaasis, we got too anglicized! A group of us (30 women) wrote an Anthology called “Township Girls, the Crossover Generation “… our experiences on crossing over from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe in the 60s, 70s & early 80s …. It is a history lesson.
Touched by this interview currently going through my own spiritual and cultural experiences and confusion is the name of the game. This interview was very enlightening I definitely took a few things out of this. Her realness is inspiring ❤
I am Dawn Thandeka King! I felt it, and that's why I always emphasized how to be called. Finally, someone explained it❤ Thanks for your beautiful, spiritual story
If you really watched this episode and listened attentively, "Perhaps" is the word that was mostly used. I really enjoyed the show and i wish we would have part 2 and part 2 of Mcebo too. Uncle Dave we really learn a lot from your platform. Keep it up.
Wow, I have enjoyed this podcast, being far away from home for many years it's been a good treat for me, reminded me of many things black South African from apartheid years up to now, the importance of our Arts and Cultures. Thandeka's life experience is very vast and a walking dictionary and encyclopaedia of African knowledge systems. She can be a great assert in teaching the world about South African and the African continent. The world would really embrace her. I like her Ancestor given traditional the songs. Ha-ha-haa!!! I wish she was mine.
First time I watched an interview from start to finish at the same time, thank you for bringing this remarkable soul. I wish to attend one of your performances and eventually the church ❤😊
Loved hearing from the King herself! I am stunned at her life story, it’s wholesome and inspiring! @King David, thank you once again, the platform you provide to people is amazing and it teaches us listeners more
