    James Doohan (Engineer Montgomery Scott) was the voice of Sargon, one of several he portrayed during the series. He also guest voiced M-5 in "The Ultimate Computer", the Mission Control voice in "Assignment: Earth", and the Oracle in "For The World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky."

      @@SuperMagnetizer Doohan was a great voice actor, but Bart LaRue did Trelane's father as well as the Guardian of Forever and several other classic voice roles in ST. Doohan himself admitted he didn't do Trelane's father. He would know since he would have been paid more for it. ;)

    The music is like having an extra great actor in every scene.

    • @Hibernicus1968
      @Hibernicus1968 3 года назад +6

      Indeed. It was very distinctive, and the instant you hear a few bars of almost any of the music they used from this show you can recognize it. How different from the bland music of TNG. Apart from the opening theme (which TNG can't claim credit for, as was recycled from Star Trek: the Motion Picture) I doubt I would recognize a single note of the music used on that show. It was completely unmemorable. This was by design. After Dennis McCarthy composed some fairly lively music for a couple of early episodes, Rick Berman came to him and told him "I don't want music in our face, I want it to be wallpaper."
      What an idiot.
      This is yet another reason I hate Rick Berman (and Brannon Braga). Think how many scenes in movies and television are _made_ by the score. Imagine Star Wars (the original trilogy, of course) or Superman: the Movie or Jaws without John Williams' music, or Conan the Barbarian without Basil Polidouris' epic soundtrack. Star Trek TOS had some incredibly good music for a TV show, and it was a huge part of the show's greatness. Figures a hack like Berman wouldn't get that.

      Star trek theatrical plays could be really grand and spectacular with modern stage tech...on stage holograms and projections and really cool dune style costumes and Shakespearian dialogue but a little dumbed down...would be perfect for Jean luc picard (Patrick stewart) he can play an wise old man character or himself as admiral in the future and explain it all with Dimensional travel

The New Testament was written by people who never met Jesus and lived well after he died. And his words were chosen in such a way as to prop up whoever was in power at the time. So no, the Bible is not based on reality, and apparently neither are you.

    In season 1, Kirk was too tentative - sort of like Captain Pike. But in season 2, Kirk was a dynamo - much like the Alexander the Great character he portrayed in a failed pilot.

    They should have given Dr. Pulaski the "hot" treatment on TNG like they did the other women later on by giving them the Venus drug.

      War is a sign of advancing civilization. Peaceful people who hunted, gathered or farmed, lived and loved, raised children and told stories then passed away without making history, were "uncivilized."
