- Soooo... mayhaps I've been doing a little decades-late deep dive into OG Star Trek, and I've been finding it to be very very gay :)
OFC this is all just in good fun! I have been a huge fan of Star Trek: Next Generation since I was a wee infant LOL but yeah, these old-timey shows are funny and ridiculous & I've been enjoying laughing at them a lot recently!

Spock was always so perfectly awkward. He was the best written character on that show. Leonard Nimoy was phenomenal as his ability to portray that like it came naturally to him.
To this day I have no idea HOW William Shattner managed to make his eyes into literal heart eyes.

I love that despite the fact Spock can't feel emotions when he calls Capitan “Jim” they're somehow visible lol
Spock does feel emotions but he suppresses them like a Vulcan. However, his human genetics mean that it's not always going to be possible. Those moments where he says Jim are when those happen. Try comparing Spock to Tuvok for example.

The Amok Time ending is made SO much better by the fact that it makes literally no sense. It was never established that he could kill someone to end the mating impulse. He just had so many gay emo feelings after "killing" Jim that he snapped out of it lmao.

I always thought all that rolling around in the sand did something for Spock to satisfy the mating urge, and because Jim "died" so quickly after, that's what they used to explain it instead

I began watching this a few days ago with my mother (who was a childhood trekkie and wanted me in on it) but was warned online about certain episodes being strange without the rest of the show for context. Wanted out of context clips for the funnies, came up with gay. Not complaining

There have been cons and fic and zines for soooo long ( for example the ring of soshern, written in 1968) it’s honestly ridiculous that you’re making this claim about this specific pairing, as spirk has been a phenomenon as long as Star Trek itself has been running.
